Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether using the Wordwall application improves students' vocabulary mastery. This research used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was made up of students from class VIII MTs DDI Cambalagi, totalling five classes. The sample in this research was a class VIII D consisting of 28 students. The sample in this research was selected by cluster random sampling. The research instrument used was a vocabulary test of 35 questions. A vocabulary test was conducted before treatment (pretest) and after treatment (posttest), and the Wordwall application was used as a learning medium for three meetings. The results of the data analysis demonstrated that the mean score of the students’ pretest was 39.07, while the mean score of the students’ posttest improved to 77.46. Furthermore, the analysis paired sample t-test results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement, with the result of the sig. (2-tailed) value is .000 < 0.05. Based on the data analysis, the results found that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. This indicates that using the Wordwall application is effective and can be a viable option for improving students’ vocabulary mastery. Consequently, the Wordwall application can be integrated as an engaging and interactive learning tool to improve students’ vocabulary mastery at MTs DDI Cambalagi (Maros).

Abstract

This thesis aimed to find out the teachers’ perception of the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum at an Islamic High School in Parepare. This research design used qualitative methods. The subject of the research was teachers in MAN 2 Kota Parepare in the academic year of 2024/2025. The sample are P5 supervisory team and English teachers. The data were collected by observation, interview and documentation. The researcher found that the Emancipated Curriculum at MAN 2 Kota Parepare is done well by teachers through planning, teaching, and checking on their teaching. The majority of teachers at MAN 2 Kota Parepare have positive opinions of the Emancipated Curriculum, which helps students become more engaged, think more clearly, and develop their knowledge and abilities.  They believe it allows them greater flexibility to adapt their instruction to the needs of their students.  Even while there are still certain difficulties, it also enhances learning using technology and encourages students to be more creative.  All things considered; the introduction of the Emancipated Curriculum improves the learning environment.  Teachers and students have more freedom with this curriculum.

Abstract

Kehamilan yang terjadi pada usia remaja cukup berisiko bagi kondisi kesehatan ibu dan bayinya. Untuk menunda kehamilan dini maka dianjurkan penggunaan kontrasepsi pada ibu remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan pengetahuan, persepsi, dukungan keluarga, dan akses media & informasi antara remaja yang menggunakan kontrasepsi dan tidak menggunakan kontrasepsi pada usia <21 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasinya adalah perempuan usia 15-24 tahun yang menikah di usia <21 tahun di Kota Jayapura, dengan besar sampel 196 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik repsonden. Analisis bivariat untuk uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t independent. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan pengetahuan (p= 0.010) dan persepsi (p= 0.000) antara remaja pasangan usia subur yang menggunakan kontrasepsi pada usia <21 tahun dengan yang tidak menggunakan. Ada perbedaan dukungan keluarga (p= 0.000) antara remaja pasangan usia subur yang menggunakan kontrasepsi dengan yang tidak menggunakan. Ada perbedaan akses media dan informasi (p= 0.003) antara remaja pasangan usia subur yang menggunakan kontrasepsi dengan yang tidak menggunakan kontrasepsi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan, persepsi, dukungan keluarga serta akses media dan informasi berhubungan signifikan dengan penggunaan kontrasepsi di usia <21 tahun. Abstract

Obesitas adalah karakteristik dari fase prediabetes. Lebih dari 340 juta anak dan remaja berusia 5-19 tahun mengalami kelebihan berat badan atau obesitas di dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perilaku konsumsi makanan dan minuman manis terhadap prediabetes pada remaja. Jenis penelitian menggunakan survey cross sectional, yang dilaksanakan Agustus 2023. Data diperoleh dengan pengukuran tinggi badan, berat badan, aktivitas sedentary, dan frekuensi makan makanan dan minuman manis. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah remaja usia 15-19 tahun di Kota Jayapura berjumlah 100 responden dengan teknik Accidental Sampling. Analisis data dengan uji chi-square dan Confidence Interval 95% / a= 0,05. Terdapat sebanyak 7 remaja (7,00%) obesitas, dan 24 remaja (24,00%) kelebihan berat badan, rata-rata usia remaja 16 tahun, paling banyak remaja perempuan (75,0%), perilaku sedentary remaja pada hari kerja sebanyak 25% pada kategori tinggi (> 5 jam/hari), perilaku sedentary remaja pada akhir pekan sebanyak 31% pada kategori tinggi, 63% remaja jarang mengkonsumsi minuman manis 63%, dan 60% remaja jarang mengkonsumsi makanan manis. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku sedentary pada akhir pekan dengan kejadian obesitas pada remaja (p=0,032), dan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan, perilaku sedentary pada hari biasa, frekuensi minuman dan makanan manis dengan kejadian overweight pada remaja. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian overweight pada remaja di Kota Jayapura adalah perilaku sedentary pada hari libur. Diharapkan pihak sekolah menginisiasi penyelenggaran kantin sehat, edukasi bahaya makanan dan minuman manis, serta kegiatan yang mendorong remaja untuk melakukan aktivitas fisik guna mencegah terjadinya obesitas pada remaja.

Abstract

Diare pada balita masih menjadi masalah kesehatan utama, terutama di Sulawesi Tenggara. Kondisi ini dipicu oleh berbagai faktor, sehingga diperlukan kajian untuk memperkuat upaya pencegahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui determinan kejadian diare pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kolono. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September 2025, menggunakan desain potong lintang dengan pendekatan analitik observasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel konfensional sebanyak 199 ibu dengan balita berusia 1 hingga 5 tahun. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen modifikasi yang dirancang berdasarkan pedoman Kementerian Kesehatan yang menggabungkan dimensi pengetahuan, kepemilikan toilet sehat, pola asuh, pencucian botol susu, akses air bersih, dan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis univariat, bivariat, dan multivariat dengan uji chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan (p = 0,024), kepemilikan toilet sehat (p = 0,002), pola asuh (p = 0,006), pencucian botol susu (p = 0,021), akses air bersih (p = 0,001), pemberian ASI eksklusif (p = 0,004), dan diare pada balita. Akses terhadap air bersih ditetapkan sebagai faktor paling dominan (OR = 15,854; 95% CI: 3,282–76,588). Implikasinya, peningkatan akses dan kualitas air bersih menjadi prioritas utama dalam upaya pencegahan diare pada balita di tingkat rumah tangga maupun komunitas.

Abstract

Speaking is a key skill that helps kids grow socially and academically in elementary school. This study looks into good ways to teach speaking, finds common problems, and suggests new solutions to help students improve their speaking skills. The study uses library research to gather information from many academic papers. It finds that methods like acting out roles, telling stories, and using interactive media help students speak better by making them more involved, confident, and clear when sharing their ideas. For example, storytelling helps students tell stories in a clear way, and role-playing helps them feel more connected and speak more smoothly by acting out real-life situations. But there are some problems, like students not being confident enough, using their own local language instead of standard English, and not using a wide range of media. To fix these, the study suggests new ideas, like using picture boards and digital tools, which have helped students speak more fluently and take part more in class discussions. These results add to the conversation about how well people can communicate and give teachers real ideas for teaching speaking in a way that’s fun and includes everyone. By focusing on communication and putting students first, this research shows how important it is to use methods that are based on real-life situations and encourage active participation in speaking at the elementary level.

Abstract

Ekonomi kreatif di Indonesia mengalami pertumbuhan yang pesat dan telah menjadi salah satu pilar penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi nasional. Sektor ini tidak hanya berperan dalam menciptakan lapangan kerja dan meningkatkan nilai tambah, tetapi juga menjadi motor penggerak inovasi yang berkesinambungan. Di dalam ekosistem tersebut, Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki posisi yang sangat strategis karena mendominasi sebagian besar pelaku usaha pada berbagai subsektor seperti kuliner, fesyen, dan desain. Meski demikian, potensi besar tersebut belum sepenuhnya diimbangi oleh kesadaran dan perlindungan yang memadai terhadap hak kekayaan intelektual (HKI), yang sejatinya menjadi landasan utama dalam menjaga orisinalitas serta nilai ekonomi karya kreatif. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi meliputi rendahnya pemahaman hukum di kalangan pelaku UMKM, keterbatasan akses terhadap mekanisme perlindungan HKI, serta minimnya dukungan kelembagaan dalam proses pendaftaran dan penegakan hak tersebut. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif, penelitian ini menganalisis urgensi dan strategi penguatan perlindungan hukum bagi UMKM dalam konteks ekonomi kreatif. Perlindungan HKI dipandang memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan peningkatan daya saing dan keberlanjutan usaha, karena memberikan jaminan atas eksklusivitas serta kepastian hukum terhadap hasil cipta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kesadaran akan pentingnya perlindungan HKI mulai meningkat, implementasinya masih terhambat oleh berbagai kendala struktural dan kultural. Oleh sebab itu, sinergi antara pemerintah, pelaku usaha, lembaga pendidikan, dan masyarakat menjadi kunci dalam membangun ekosistem perlindungan HKI yang inklusif, adaptif, dan berkeadilan, sehingga mampu memperkuat daya saing sektor ekonomi kreatif Indonesia di tingkat nasional maupun global. The creative economy in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth and has become one of the key pillars of national economic development. This sector not only plays a vital role in creating jobs and increasing added value but also serves as a driving force for continuous innovation. Within this ecosystem, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) hold a highly strategic position, as they dominate most business actors across various subsectors such as culinary arts, fashion, and design. However, this great potential has not yet been fully matched by sufficient awareness and protection of intellectual property rights (IPR), which are in fact the main foundation for maintaining the originality and economic value of creative works. The main problems faced include the low level of legal awareness among MSME actors, limited access to IPR protection mechanisms, and the lack of institutional support in the registration and enforcement processes of these rights.Using a normative juridical approach, this study analyzes the urgency and strategies for strengthening legal protection for MSMEs within the context of the creative economy. IPR protection is considered closely related to enhancing competitiveness and business sustainability, as it provides guarantees of exclusivity and legal certainty over creative products.The findings show that although awareness of the importance of IPR protection is gradually increasing, its implementation remains hindered by various structural and cultural barriers. Therefore, synergy among the government, business actors, educational institutions, and society is crucial in building an inclusive, adaptive, and just IPR protection ecosystem one that can strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative economy sector at both the national and global levels.

Abstract

This research aimed at describing the instructional strategies used by the lecturers in knowledge and language skills subjects in English for both instructional and management talks. The method employed was an exploratory descriptive qualitative method in which the observation and open-ended interviews with individuals were conducted. The data resources were lecturer talk in knowledge and skill subjects consisting of seven lecturers. The result of this research shows that the lecturers both in knowledge and language skills employed whole class, group/pair, and individual instructional strategies. The reasons for utilizing them lied on the nature of the subject, the purpose and objectives of each sub course material to scan and see the general ability and the basic interpersonal communication skills of the students in English. Based on these findings, it implicitly takes into account that varying instructional strategies bridge the lecturers to manage their talks in EFL classroom interaction to foster and sharpen the students’ English language development.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of teaching using TikTok in improving students' vocabulary skills. The study used pre-experimental design. The sample was 34 11th-grade students using random cluster sampling technique. The researcher used a vocabulary test as an instrument based on several TikTok video contents that were taught. The vocabulary test was used as an instrument to find out the meaning of words, the use of words in context, and the parts of speech. This study conducted a pre-test to identify students' basic vocabulary abilities. In addition, the researcher provided treatment to achieve better vocabulary scores. Finally, a post-test was given to test the effect of teaching using TikTok in improving students' vocabulary skills. The pre-test and post-test scores were compared to see if teaching vocabulary using TikTok has an impact on improving students' vocabulary, and the data were analysed using a t-test. The results showed that the average pre-test score was 76.47, while the average post-test score was 91.76, indicating an increase. The paired sample t-test result was also significant, with a p-value of 0.000, which is lower than the alpha value of 0.05. It can be concluded that teaching using TikTok can improve the vocabulary mastery of students at SMAN 23 Makassar.Keywords: TikTok, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their speaking skill. The method that the researcher used in this study is quantitative research design with correlational study. This research involved one class in the first-grade students in Class X Science I SMA Angkasa Maros. The sample was taken using the random sampling technique. The findings showed that there was a medium correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their speaking skill. It can be verified through the value of the correlation assessment by SPSS 27 is 0.456 and the value of probability of the sig. (2 tailed) is 0.0.25, considered as a significant correlation.  Keywords: Correlation, Vocabulary Mastery, Speaking Skill.
