Abstract

Mangrove areas serve as habitats for many marine creatures. The mangrove area in Mumbul Sari Village is under conservation status, with activities designed to protect, restore, and enhance the quality and diversity for sustainable use. Crab farming, using the Bamboo Net (KOMBUJA) system, supports these goals. In Seruni Mumbul Village, socialization activities aimed to 1) introduce and promote silvofishery principles, 2) increase understanding of general crab farming, and 3) introduce the Kombuja crab farming system to the Pelita Seruni POKMASWAS group. The three main methods deployed—preparation, socialization, and participant counseling—were carried out at the Padak sia Mosque with 12 attendees. Initially, participants had little understanding of silvofishery and crab physiology. By the end, more than 75% gained an understanding of basic silvofishery principles, crab characteristics, cultivation methods, and variations of the KOMBUJA system for mangrove crab farming.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki potensi perikanan yang melimpah, namun konsumsi ikan nasional masih tergolong rendah. Rendahnya minat konsumsi ikan terutama terjadi pada anak-anak, padahal ikan merupakan sumber protein hewani berkualitas tinggi yang berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan dan pencegahan stunting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendorong konsumsi ikan melalui Program Gemar Makan Ikan (GEMARI) dengan inovasi produk bakso ikan di SD Negeri 2 Bulu, Jepara. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, edukasi, serta uji kesukaan produk. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa 87,5% siswa sudah menyukai ikan. Setelah mencoba bakso ikan, tingkat kesukaan meningkat, dengan 56,3% siswa menyatakan sangat suka, 34,4% suka, 6,3% kurang suka, dan 3,1% tidak suka. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa pengembangan produk ikan dalam bentuk bakso dapat diterima dengan baik oleh anak-anak, serta efektif sebagai strategi edukasi gizi untuk meningkatkan konsumsi ikan.

Abstract

Pembibitan mangrove merupakan langkah strategis dalam mendukung rehabilitasi ekosistem pesisir yang mengalami degradasi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara dengan memanfaatkan propagul Rhizophora mucronata sebagai bahan tanam. Metode yang digunakan meliputi persiapan media tanam, penanaman propagul ke dalam polybag, serta penataan area persemaian yang dilengkapi pemeliharaan awal berupa penyiraman rutin. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan sebanyak 100 propagul berhasil ditanam dan dipelihara pada polybag dengan kondisi awal yang baik. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pemanfaatan propagul melalui pembibitan memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap penyediaan bibit berkualitas yang dapat digunakan untuk program rehabilitasi mangrove di wilayah pesisir.

Abstract

Mangroves are one of the coastal vegetation that can mitigate carbon (carbon sink and carbon storage). This study aimed to determine the potential for soil carbon stock found under stands of mangroves in Lembar Bay, West Lombok, and West Nusa Tenggara. The research began with the identification of the species and then proceeded toa sampling of the soil, which was then analyzed using the Walkley and Black method. The results showed that there were ten species of mangroves, namely, Rhizophora stylosa, Avicennia lanata, Avicennia marina, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops decandra, Excoecaria agallocha, Lumnitzera racemosa, Scyphiphora hydrophyllacea, Thespesia populnea, and Xylocarpus maluccensis. The highest soil carbon content percentage was found in the lower soil of the A. lanata (1.43 %C) mangrove, and the lowest was found in the lower-stand soil of E. agallocha (0.21 %C). Meanwhile, the carbon sinks per meter were 0.002-0.066 gC/m2, with an average of 0.020±0.020 gC/m2. The estimated total soil carbon sink in 10 mangrove stands was 0.20-6.60 tons C/ha, with an average of 2.18±2.010 tons C/ha. The average total estimated soil carbon stock found in 20.49 ha of the mangrove area studied was 44.67 tonsC, which is equivalent to 263.69 tonsC in a mangrove area of ​​120.96 ha in Lembar Bay.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect and the best dosage used by the Skeletonema costatum in feed formulation on the growth of Vaname shrimp. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. Treatment was given by using dried S. costatum in feed formula (iso protein 37% and iso energy 3.6 kkal/g feed). Feed treatment was the substitution of fish meal protein A = 0%, B = 2.5%, C = 5% and D = 7.5% with dried S. costatum protein. The observed parameters include Survival Rate (SR), Survival Growth Rate (SGR), Feed Efficiency Ratio (FER), and Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER). The results showed that the use of dried S. costatum in feeding are effective in increasing the specific growth rate, feed efficiency ratio and the ratio of protein efficiency than controls. The best dosage in feeding formula is ranged from 4.39% to 4.75%.Keywords: feeding formula, Skeletonema costatum, Vaname Shrimp

Abstract

Salah satu komponen utama dalam budidaya ikan nila dalah pakan. Pakan memiliki kontribusi besar terhadap pertumbuhan, dan kesehatan.Namun, ketergantungan pada pakan komersial yang relatif mahal menjadi permasalahan umum bagi pembudidaya. Pemanfaatan pakan alami berupa tumbuhan air menjadi salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Beberapa tumbuhan air yang potensial dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pakan alami diantaranya Azolla sp., Lemna sp.  dan Hydrilla. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Pembudidaya Aiq Ambur, Kecamatan Lingsar, yang berfokus pada pemanfaatan tumbuhan air sebagai pakan tambahan ikan nila untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesejahteraan pembudidaya ikan nila di kecamatan Lingsar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memiliki beberapa tahapan yaitu terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan lancar dan antusias yang  dihadiri peserta pengabdian diantaranya tim pengabdian, mitra dan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan diketahu tumbuhan air pada kolam mitra yang banyak ditemukan adalah azolla, hydrlla, Lemna namun pemanfaatan tumbuhan air tersebut masih sebatas dimanfaatkan sebagai substrat dalam proses pembenihan ikan hias.Teknik budidaya tumbuhan air pada pengabdian ini menggunakan teknik sederhana yang mudah ditemukan oleh pembudidaya diantaranya  kolam beton dangkal yang sudah tersedia di kolam mitra dan waring sesuai ukuaran kolam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak positif bagi mitra antara lain peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam budidaya tumbuhan air,pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal sebagai pakan alternatif, pengurangan ketergantungan pada pakan komersial.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) di Desa Bagik Polak, Kecamatan Labuapi, Kabupaten Lombok Barat menghadapi kendala tingginya biaya produksi akibat ketergantungan pada pakan pabrikan komersial yang harganya terus meningkat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi produksi pembudidaya ikan nila melalui penerapan pakan alternatif berbasis bahan baku lokal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2025 dengan metode penyuluhan teknis dan pendampingan selama satu bulan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta secara signifikan dalam pengenalan, pemilihan, dan aplikasi bahan pakan alternatif lokal. Penerapan pakan alternatif lokal terbukti mampu menekan biaya pakan sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi produksi tanpa mengurangi kualitas hasil budidaya. Program ini sejalan dengan upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat menuju kemandirian pangan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

One of the factors in aquaculture activities that affect the production and growth process of mud crab is molting. Several techniques have been developed to accelerate the molting of mud crabs, namely ablation, mutilation, and supplementation. One form of supplementation is through the use of fermented mulberry leaves in mud crab feed. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effect of adding fermented mulberry leaves (Morus spp.) in feed to stimulate the molting of mud crabs (S. serrata). This research was carried out in traditional ponds in Bugis Village, Sape District, Bima Regency, for 60 days. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and three replications, namely control treatment/trash fish (P1), 20% Mulberry Leaf Fermentation (P2), 25% (P3), 30% (P4), and 40% (P5). Research parameters comprise frequency and percentage of molting, absolute growth, specific growth rate, feed utilization efficiency, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that the combination test feed of fermented mulberry leaf (Morus spp.) in the mud crab (S. serrata) diet did not affect all the parameters measured. The provision of mangrove crab feed formulation with a concentration of 25% mulberry leaf fermentation (P3) and control treatment (P1) gave a faster initial molting, which was the first 10 days of the rearing period with the highest average frequency and percentage of molting of 37 and 41%, respectively.

Abstract

Tilapia is a type of demersal fish that is often cultivated because it is very tolerant to environmental changes and grows quickly. Feed quality is very important for tilapia cultivation. The utilization of feed ingredients can be improved by using fermentation technology. The study aims to analyze the effect of the duration of cattle rumen fermentation on corn cob meal as a feed raw material on the performance of tilapia. This study was conducted in June – July 2025 at the Fish Production and Reproduction Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used in this study were control, corn cob fermentation for 5 days, corn cob fermentation for 10 days, and corn cob fermentation for 15 days. The tilapia were reared in 45-liter containers with a stocking density of 15 fish, and maintained for 45 days. The parameters used in this study were weight and length growth, survival rate, and water quality. The research results obtained showed that providing feed with different fermentations had a significant effect on the absolute length growth of tilapia, but did not have a significant effect on absolute weight and survival of tilapia.

Abstract

Abstract: Coastal areas have considerable potential to support community-based food product innovation, particularly through the utilization of local fishery resources. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of POKDARWIS Bagek Kembar in processing crab into a value-added food product, namely crispy pressure-cooked crab. The activity was carried out in Bagek Kembar Ecotourism Area, Cendi Manik Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, from July to September 2025. The program involved preliminary identification, partner needs assessment, counseling, demonstration, and hands-on training. A total of 15 participants joined the training. The material covered raw material preparation, crab cleaning, basic food hygiene, pressure-cooking technique, seasoning, flour coating, and frying process to produce a crispy texture. The results showed that the participants were actively involved in discussions and practical sessions and were able to follow the main stages of crispy pressure-cooked crab processing. This activity introduced a simple and applicable processing technique that can potentially support local culinary diversification in the ecotourism area. Further assistance is needed, particularly in product standardization, food safety, packaging, marketing, and business feasibility analysis.
