Abstract

The low level of creative thinking skills among students is one of the main challenges in entrepreneurship education in higher education. The learning pattern, which is still dominated by a one-way approach, means that students have little opportunity to discuss, develop ideas, and express creative ideas. This situation calls for learning strategies that can actively and reflectively stimulate creative thinking skills. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' creative thinking skills in entrepreneurship courses, considering the role of self-efficacy as a moderating variable. The research used a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest factorial design, involving seventh semester A students as the experimental class and seventh semester B students as the control class in the odd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year in the Law Study Programme at Kuningan University. Data were collected through creative thinking tests and self-efficacy questionnaires, then analysed using a two-way ANOVA test to examine the main effects of the interaction between variables. The results showed that: (1) students who learned using the Problem-Based Learning model had higher levels of creative thinking compared to those who learned using the lecture method; (2) self-efficacy had a significant effect on students' abilities; and (3) there was a meaningful interaction between the Problem-Based Learning model and self-efficacy, as indicated by greater increases in creativity through the application of Problem-Based Learning. These findings confirm that the integration of Problem-Based Learning with the strengthening of self-efficacy is an effective strategy in learning. In addition, this study can contribute theoretically to the development of a constructivist-based entrepreneurial learning model in which students successfully solve problems contextually.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of social interaction among the Bajo people in Bangkurung Subdistrict, Banggai Laut Regency, during the period 1999–2013, with the aim of analyzing social, economic, and cultural changes in the context of the development of the archipelago. The study employs a social history methodology through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, utilizing primary sources such as historical interviews and village documents, as well as secondary sources including scholarly literature, archives, and statistical publications. The results indicate that the 1999–2013 period represented a significant phase of transformation for the Bajo community, marked by increased social interactions with non-Bajo communities through trade, social activities, education, and village governance. Economic changes were evident in the shift from a subsistence-based pattern to a semi-commercial one, driven by the adoption of fishing technologies and the diversification of livelihoods. This transformation did not erase the Bajo people’s maritime cultural identity but rather shaped new patterns of adaptation that blend traditional values with the demands of modernization. This study contributes to the field of social history of coastal communities by positioning the Bajo community as active agents in the process of change.

Abstract

The Mohibadaa tradition is a women’s beauty ritual of Gorontalo that is deeply rooted in local wisdom and continues to be practiced within customary and religious contexts. This ritual integrates natural body treatments, cultural symbolism, and spiritual values that shape women’s identities within the Gorontalo social structure. This study aims to examine the cultural meanings, social functions, and sustainability challenges of the Mohibadaa tradition amid the dynamics of modernity. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, utilizing literature review, documentation analysis, and interpretative analysis of the ritual’s symbolic meanings. The findings indicate that Mohibadaa functions not only as a traditional beauty practice but also as a medium for identity formation, the strengthening of women’s solidarity, and the internalization of customary and religious values. Despite facing challenges arising from changing lifestyles and the preferences of younger generations, the ritual plays a significant role in preserving local culture. Mohibadaa remains relevant as an adaptive and meaningful symbol of Gorontalo women’s local wisdom.
