Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and awareness of students at SMP Negeri 7 Gorontalo regarding the wise use of social media by strengthening their digital literacy, communication ethics, digital security, personal data protection, and ability to verify information. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, beginning with needs assessment, the development of educational materials, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, Q&A sessions, and group reflection. Evaluation was conducted qualitatively through observation of student participation, documentation of activities, and feedback gathered throughout the educational process. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ awareness of the importance of digital communication ethics, their ability to recognize the risks of spreading unverified information, their understanding of personal data protection, and their commitment to using social media responsibly in their daily lives. Reflections on the activity also revealed that active participant engagement and school support play a crucial role in building a positive and sustainable digital culture. This program provides a participatory digital literacy education model that can be replicated in other educational institutions as a strategy for strengthening students’ digital character in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

The SEHAT Program (Sekolah Hijau Tenda/Green Tent School) is an environmental education initiative designed to strengthen students’ environmental literacy and pro-environmental practices through integrated school-based activities. This study evaluated the 2024 SEHAT Program by examining its implementation structure, learning contributions, alignment with green school principles, evidence strength, and potential for generating sustainable outcomes. A descriptive evaluative approach using a document-based single-case design was employed, with the 2024 SEHAT Program Report serving as the primary data source. The analysis reconstructed the program through an input-process-output-initial outcome framework, mapped activities across cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and creative learning domains, and examined their alignment with the four Green School Quality domains. The findings indicate that environmental orientation, waste literacy and reuse workshops, recycled-art competition, environmental study tours, school gardening, climate-change education, and three-color waste bins were implemented as complementary learning components. The program demonstrated strong implementation evidence and diverse learning opportunities, particularly in teaching and learning. However, baseline and post-test assessments, repeated behavioral observations, waste audits, garden sustainability records, and institutional indicators were unavailable, preventing causal verification of changes in environmental literacy or behavior. Future development should strengthen curriculum integration, environmental governance, behavioral monitoring, operational management, and sustained community engagement.

Abstract

The Quantitative Research Methodology course is a compulsory course in the History Education Study Program that requires analytical and logical thinking skills, as well as skills in processing and interpreting statistical data. However, in practice, there are still students who have difficulty understanding statistical concepts, developing research instruments, and analyzing quantitative data. This condition is reflected in the distribution of student grades in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, which shows that most students are in the middle grade category and there are still low achievements. This problem indicates that there are learning obstacles that need to be studied systematically. This study aims to describe the level and factors causing student learning difficulties in the Quantitative Research Methodology course. The method used is qualitative descriptive with 22 students as research subjects. The research instrument is a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 15 statements covering aspects of interest, motivation, basic abilities, mastery of material, learning models, the role of lecturers, classroom conditions, and learning resources. The data are analyzed through percentage calculations and classified into low, medium, and high categories. The results of the study indicate that the level of learning difficulties experienced by students is in the moderate category, with an average of 72%. The dominant factors stem from the learning model and the role of lecturers, accompanied by students' basic abilities and learning resources.
