Abstract

Numeracy is the ability that a person has in using his mathematical knowledge in explaining events, solving problems, or making decisions in everyday life. This study aims to analyze and describe students' mistakes in solving numeracy problems in terms of self-efficacy. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Purposive sampling technique was used in selecting 6 subjects as subjects. Data is collected through tests and questionnaires. Data analysis used is data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The triangulation technique used is the source triangulation technique. Based on the results of the study, seen from the aspect of self-efficacy, subjects with high self-efficacy made two types of mistakes, namely errors in understanding the problem and errors in processing skills. The subject of self-efficacy is making three types of errors, namely errors in understanding the problem, transformation errors and process skills errors. Subjects with low self-efficacy made four types of errors, namely errors in reading the problem, errors in understanding the problem, errors in process skills and errors in writing the final answer. Student self-efficacy and numeracy skills have a highly correlated and positive relationship which explains that the higher the student's self-efficacy, the higher the student's numeracy skills.

Abstract

Numeracy is very important for students to master in the 21st century. Numeracy means applying numerical and mathematical concepts. The fact that the applied learning is still not effective at SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to find out that there was no effect of domino card-assisted Problem Based Learning on student numeracy. This type of research uses quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was a nonequivalnt posttest-only control design. The population in this study were all grade III students at SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya, totaling 44 students. Through cluster random sampling, a sample of class III B was selected as the experimental class and class III A as the control class. Data collection techniques through tests. The data analysis technique used is a statistical test consisting of a normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the t-test.  The results of the study showed that there was an influence of Problem Based Learning assisted by domino cards on the numeracy of class III SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya.

Abstract

Preparing HOTS-based teaching materials is a competency that teachers must have. Elementary school teachers are required to have the ability to create teaching materials that encourage students to be motivated in observing everything around them, asking questions, and thinking creatively and critically so that they can explore the competencies of elementary school students. The aim of holding this PPM is so that elementary school teachers in the Gresik area will increase their competence in preparing teaching materials, especially for preparing HOTS-based teaching materials. The method used is descriptive qualitative with instruments in the form of interview sheets, questionnaires, and documentation related to the implementation of community service or PPM. PPM participants consisted of 25 elementary school teachers in the Gresik area. As a result, after the PPM activities were carried out, the competency of elementary school teachers in preparing HOTS-based teaching materials increased. This can be seen from every aspect of making HOTS-based teaching materials that has been fulfilled, this is because the human resources of elementary school teachers in the Gresik area already have a profile that supports their competency abilities.

Abstract

This research is based on the development of 21st century learning, where PowerPoint is one of the applications that support learning with attractive designs. This research is a type of R&D development research with the ADDIE model as the development model. The research population was class II students, with a sample of 10 students from SDN Gempolkerep. The data analysis technique used is the Likert Scale. Flat shape material is introduced at the low grade level, and in this product, the material is associated with local culture, especially the culture in Mojokerto, East Java, which is adjacent to this research area. The results showed that the interactive Flat Math media had been tested for its feasibility and declared fit for use. The validation results of media experts get a percentage of 75% which indicates eligibility, while the results of the validation of material experts get a percentage of 86% which indicates very feasible qualifications. Linguist validation also shows decent results with a percentage of 76%. The average questionnaire results from student respondents show a percentage of 80.4% which indicates that this media is very feasible to use. In addition, the teacher's assessment also gave a percentage of 82%. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that Flat Math interactive media is appropriate for use in supporting learning in flat shape material.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are very necessary to face and solve various challenges in today's life, so these abilities need to be honed from elementary school. This research aims to analyze whether the increase in the mathematical literacy skills of students taught using a project-based learning model is higher than the mathematical literacy skills of students taught using regular learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental by dividing 2 sample groups as samples that are taught through regular learning and samples taught by applying a project-based learning model. This analysis uses the t-test to compare the means of the two sample groups. The sample in this study was 26 grade 4 children at state elementary school 064967 Medan, North Sumatra. The results of this research were the increase in the mathematical literacy skills of students taught using a project-based learning model was higher than the mathematical literacy abilities of students taught using regular learning. Through project activities, students can provide a rich understanding of concepts and ideas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STEM-based differentiation learning model on the results of independent curriculum learning. This type of research is quantitative research with a meta-analysis approach. This research data comes from 10 national journals published from 2021-2024. Search research data through the mendeley, google scholar, Wiley and Researchgate databases. The data collection technique is purposive sampling. The criteria for the data included in the meta-analysis are research published in the last 3 years 2021-2024; Research must be related to STEM-based differentiation learning on student learning outcomes in the independent curriculum, research must be open access, research comes from indexed journals Science Technology Index (SINTA) and Scopus and research reports complete data to calculate effect size values. Data analysis is quantitative data analysis by calculating the effect size value of each data with the help of the JAMOVI application. The results of the study concluded that STEM-based differentiation learning had a positive effect on the independent curriculum with an average effect size value of 1.06. These findings provide important information for teachers implementing STEM-based differentiated learning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the problem-solving abilities of second-grade students at SD Negeri Dukuh Menanggal 1 Surabaya in mathematics through the application of differentiated learning in fraction material. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, the test results showed that the average student score was 68.82, with a learning mastery rate of 37.5%. Only 9 out of 24 students passed, while 15 others had not yet met the minimum passing criteria. This was due to the use of conventional teaching methods and the teacher's lack of understanding of differentiated learning. After improvements were made in the second cycle, the students' average score increased to 81.17, with a learning mastery rate of 96% (23 students passed). The results of this study indicate that differentiated learning can significantly improve students' problem-solving abilities in fraction material and make learning more meaningful and interactive.

Abstract

This article describes the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach by utilizing the integrated application "BelaJARingan" at SDN Dukuh Menanggal I/424 Surabaya. This study aims to increase student involvement in the learning process, as well as foster a deeper understanding of culture through contextual learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of the learning process in class 4A SDN Dukuh Menanggal I/424 Surabaya involving 30 students with diverse cultural backgrounds. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by grouping the results of observations and interviews to assess the effectiveness of the application of technology-based CRT in increasing student learning motivation and cultural understanding. By integrating digital technology and local culture, this application allows students to access teaching materials, quizzes, and culture-based projects. The results of the study indicate that this approach not only improves learning achievement but also encourages appreciation for cultural diversity. Despite technical constraints, the technology-based CRT approach has proven effective in creating a more interactive and meaningful learning process for students.
