Abstract

The intersection of consumer behaviour and commercial practices in international business contexts represents a critical area of economic research. As international ties become more robust, the awareness of the economic effects stemming from multinational cooperation between organizations and their clientele is elevating. This systematic literature review seeks to amalgamate contemporary scholarship on consumer and commercial practices within the realm of international business from an economic standpoint, with the aim of elucidating critical themes, theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and existing research deficiencies. A comprehensive search was conducted across main databases including Scopus and Pro Quest. The primary emphasis of the search strategy was on peer-reviewed publications that scrutinized consumer behaviour, corporate practices, and their economic ramifications within the framework of international business, specifically those released between the years 2019 and 2025. 57 pertinent studies from a variety of databases were found during the review. A detailed compilation of observed facts reveals that investigations into promotional approaches, shopper habits, and governance models show a considerable variation. Significant notions involve a range of consumer patterns influenced by cultural diversity, the shift in business operations due to the digital revolution globally, and the strategies devised for consumer protection. Contemporary analyses indicate that important cultural dynamics significantly influence purchasing behaviours, in addition to noticeable differences in legal systems about consumer support. The current literature shows limited comprehensive economic analysis of consumer and commercial practices in international business. Understanding cross-cultural commercial practices and their economic ramifications, especially with regard to policy recommendations and economic impact assessments, is severely lacking

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of liquidity, solvency, and profitability on the financial performance of manufacturing companies in the food and beverage sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the years 2021–2024. The study employs a quantitative explanatory methodology utilizing secondary data derived from audited financial statements. Researchers utilized a purposive sampling strategy to choose 16 organizations as research samples. The examination of the data included classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial t-tests, simultaneous F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The findings indicate that liquidity (Current Ratio), solvency (Debt to Equity Ratio), and profitability (Return on Assets) each exert a positive and significant influence on financial performance as assessed by Return on Equity. At the same time, the three independent variables have a big effect on financial performance, with a good correlation (R = 0.828). This means that 68.6% of the changes in ROE can be described by CR, DER, and ROA, while the other 31.4% is due to other factors that are not part of the model. These results show how important it is for businesses to keep their capital structure healthy, manage their liquidity at the right level, and make more money in order to increase shareholder value and keep their business going

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the role played by regional ethical codes in Islamic banking's development, adoption and the integration of this financial system at the international level. A comprehensive review of the last 6 years' research in the field is given, covering 86 academic papers from 2020 to 2025. The PRISMA methodology is applied in order to identify, appraise and merge the findings from the studies in areas like ethical and cultural values, Shariah compliance, governance, and socio-economic goals. In fact, research shows that regional ethical frameworks are crucial in ensuring that Islamic financial services are truly ethical and in addition are a key factor in differentiating Islamic financial services from conventional ones within the global marketplace. In the integration of Islamic finance with global norms there are a number of challenges, including the integration of Islamic finance with community-based ethics, the need to harmonise Islamic law with transnational financial dealings and the impact of technological advancements such as the development of financial services companies (fintech). The key theme in this study is the integration of Islamic financial practices with the values of their community, the strategies employed by financial institutions to reconcile local Shariah law with international finance systems, and the role of ethical governance in establishing trust and promoting economic growth. In light of these implications, it is essential that regulatory agencies, industry leaders and government officials work towards ensuring international business practices align with local standards of ethics. Further research is required in such areas as the implications of sustainable finance for conventional financial structures, digitalisation and its impact on the role of the business community and the finance industry, and in cross border issues of ethics.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of QRIS and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending on the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with capital structure as a mediating variable in Medan Petisah. The rapid development of digital financial services has provided new opportunities for MSMEs to improve financial access and operational efficiency. This research employs a quantitative approach using survey data collected from MSME actors. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that QRIS and P2P lending have a significant positive effect on capital structure and MSME sustainability. Furthermore, capital structure partially mediates the relationship between financial technology usage and business sustainability. These findings indicate that digital financial adoption not only enhances access to funding but also improves the financial structure of MSMEs, contributing to long-term sustainability. This study provides empirical evidence on the role of financial technology in strengthening MSME performance in urban areas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of fintech lending on the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the mediating role of the banking industry. MSMEs play a crucial role in the Indonesian economy by contributing significantly to gross domestic product and employment; however, limited access to formal financing remains a major constraint to their development. In this context, fintech lending has emerged as an alternative financing mechanism that offers faster, more flexible, and more accessible funding compared to traditional banking services. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and Data Indonesia, covering the period from January 2022 to December 2025, with a total of 48 observations. The data were analyzed using regression analysis and mediation testing with SPSS. The results indicate that fintech lending has a positive and significant effect on MSME growth. In addition, fintech lending also significantly influences the banking industry. Furthermore, the banking industry has a significant positive effect on MSME growth and fully mediates the relationship between fintech lending and MSME growth. These findings suggest that fintech lending and banking institutions operate in a complementary manner, where banking plays a crucial intermediary role in channeling the impact of fintech into MSME development. Overall, this study provides important insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and fintech developers in strengthening an inclusive and sustainable digital financial ecosystem to support MSME growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research assesses the direct and indirect impact of emotional intelligence, work-life balance, leadership, and work ethics on employee performance at the Camait office in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. Employing a quantitative analytic approach, the study sampled 146 workers, from which 88 employees were selected using the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that emotional intelligence, work-life balance, leadership, and motivation directly, positively, and significantly impact employee performance. In contrast, work ethic does not significantly affect employee performance. Moreover, motivation is a moderating variable that can indirectly influence the relationships between work-life balance, leadership, work ethic, and employee performance. However, motivation alone cannot effectively moderate the relationship between work ethic and employee performance at the Central Tapanuli Regency Head Office. This study underscores the importance of enhancing emotional intelligence, achieving a better work-life balance, and cultivating effective leadership to boost employee performance. Furthermore, it highlights the crucial role of motivation as a moderating factor in improving overall job performance. However, it emphasizes that motivation should be complemented with other strategies to address work ethic issues effectively.
