Abstract

This study investigates the impact of airport facilities on visitor satisfaction at Banyuwangi International Airport, with service quality and comfort as mediating variables. Using the Expectation-Confirmation Theory (ECT) as the theoretical framework, the research explores how passenger experiences in the airport waiting room shape overall satisfaction. A quantitative approach was applied. This research was conducted at Banyuwangi International Airport involving 80 respondents, with the determination of the sample size based on Roscoe's guidelines (multiplying the number of variables by 20), sampling was carried out accidentally to select respondents based on accessibility and availability. Data was analyzed using path analysis via SmartPLS. The results show that facilities significantly influence service quality and comfort and directly affect visitor satisfaction. Furthermore, service quality substantially mediates the relationship between facilities and satisfaction, reinforcing its critical role in shaping positive passenger perceptions. However, comfort was found to have no significant direct or mediating effect on satisfaction. These findings suggest that service quality plays a more substantial role in determining satisfaction than physical comfort in the context of regional airports. The study highlights the importance of integrating the provision of high-quality services with infrastructure development to enhance the passenger experience with improvements in physical infrastructure (environmental conditions, layout and functionality of spaces, signs, symbols, and artifacts), operational efficiency, and warm service from service officers are highly recommended to provide a more positive and memorable travel experience.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on the critical role of the logistics sector, particularly ports, in supporting the national economy through cost efficiency and increased competitiveness. However, data shows that PT JICT's sales growth declined from 2014 to 2018, indicating problems in maritime transport management, particularly in port operations. The decline in crane performance and fluctuations in loading and unloading productivity are suspected to be the main factors causing this decline in sales growth. Low crane performance slows loading and unloading, while unstable loading and unloading productivity hinder the effectiveness of port services. This study aims to analyze the effect of crane performance and loading and unloading productivity on sales growth at PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT). Therefore, this study was conducted to empirically determine the extent to which crane performance and loading and unloading productivity affect sales growth at PT JICT, with the hope that the results will serve as a basis for evaluating and improving port operational management. Abstract

Aviation safety is a crucial aspect of the aviation industry, governed through the implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS). Although SMS has been formally adopted by airport operators in Indonesia, its implementation effectiveness remains a challenge, as observed at Juanda International Airport. This study aims to analyze the influence of safety risk management and safety assurance on the effectiveness of SMS implementation, with management commitment as a mediating variable. Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the relationship between ship chandler service quality (specifically responsiveness, reliability, and product quality) and crew satisfaction, with crew health as a mediating variable. The research highlights the critical role of ship chandler services in supporting crew well-being, especially when access to essential supplies was restricted. Research Methodology: This quantitative study surveyed 150 crew members from 52 PIS-owned vessels using PMSol services, selected through purposive sampling, and analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results: The findings reveal that crew satisfaction is significantly influenced by responsiveness, reliability, and product quality. Moreover, crew health acts as a mediating variable, strengthening the impact of service and product quality on satisfaction. High-quality, reliable, and responsive services (both directly and indirectly) enhance crew happiness and well-being. Conclusions: Ship chandler services that are responsive, reliable, and provide high-quality products not only meet logistical needs but also enhance crew well-being and satisfaction. Recognizing crew health as a key factor can help maritime service providers design more human-centered support systems, especially during challenging times like a pandemic. Limitations: The study focuses solely on crew members aboard PIS-owned vessels using PMSol services, which may limit the generalizability of the findings to other companies or contexts. Contribution: Study highlights crew health as key mediator, linking service quality to satisfaction in maritime services.

Abstract

Maritime transportation plays a vital role in supporting connectivity and economic growth in Indonesia as an archipelagic nation. Ports, as the main hubs of maritime transportation, are required to provide efficient and high-quality services to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP), as a provider of multipurpose terminal services, has implemented various marketing strategies, including sales visits, increasing customer awareness, and applying relationship marketing. However, the results of the 2022 customer engagement survey showed fluctuations in some branches, and cargo traffic realization only reached 79.22% of the RKAP target, indicating the need to evaluate the effectiveness of existing marketing strategies. This study aims to analyze the influence of sales visits and customer awareness through relationship marketing on business partners' interest in collaborating with PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok. The selection of variables is based on theoretical and empirical relevance, where sales visits are considered important in building direct interaction and trust, customer awareness influences perception and interest in using services, while relationship marketing focuses on establishing mutually beneficial long-term relationships. This study uses quantitative methods with SEM PLS analysis. The results show that relationship marketing mediates sales visits and customer awareness on the interest of business partners in collaborating with PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok.

Abstract

Maritime transportation activities contribute to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. IMO adopted MARPOL Annex VI to prevent air pollution from ships. Several countries in the world have initiated the use of electric ships as a form of campaign. The Indonesian government also shows its commitment to reducing GHG emissions and encourages the use of electric transportation in the transportation sector. The government issued various policies supporting the use of electric transportation. However, electric transportation in Indonesia is still dominated by the land sector. The adoption of electric ships for some shipowners is still only a discourse that has not been realized, one of which is PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK). This study aims to analyze the influence of green shipping campaigns and GHG emission reduction policies on the procurement of electric ships mediated by shipowner perceptions. The method used is mixed methods with PLS-SEM analysis to 97 respondents followed by interviews with 5 informants determined by purposive sampling. The results show that green shipping campaigns have a significant effect on shipowner perceptions, and GHG emission policies have a significant effect on the procurement of electric ships. However, the relationship between green shipping campaigns and ship procurement and GHG reduction policies on perceptions is equally insignificant. Shipowner perceptions significantly mediated the effect of campaigns on electric ship procurement, but not the effect of GHG emission reduction policies. The implementation of electric ships in PTK is hampered by technical, operational, economic, regulatory, and sustainability awareness factors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of occupational safety and health (OSH) training on improving the knowledge and performance of vehicle inspection officers at the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB) Cilincing, under the Transportation Agency of DKI Jakarta Province. The training provided consists of internal education for new employees as an introductory orientation to enhance their understanding of workplace safety. This research adopts a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to the entire population of 42 inspection officers. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a saturated sampling method, as all population members were included as the sample. The results show that OSH training has a positive and significant impact on the officers’ work-related knowledge. Furthermore, the increased knowledge gained from the training also contributes to better performance in carrying out vehicle inspections. These findings underscore the importance of OSH training as a managerial strategy to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency. It is recommended that OSH training be conducted regularly and systematically, not only for new employees but also as a refresher for all officers. Management is also encouraged to develop more interactive and practical training modules to ensure that the acquired knowledge is effectively applied in the field.
