Abstract

This study aims to assess the effect of natural feed mulberry and glicidia against carcass percentage and non-carcass male goats Ettawa crossbreed. This study was conducted for 4 months starting in January to April 2016, located in the Village RanomentaaToari District of Kolaka. This study used 12 male goats Crossbreed Ettawa age ranges of 4-6 months that were placed in 12 individual cages. The materials used are natural feed (Gliricidia leaves and mulberry leaves), water, salt, and medicine. The equipment used is the individual cages, where food, drinking, machetes, scales, basins, cutter, knife, plastic bags, rope and a cutting table. The design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) 3 treatments with 4 replications. Treatment 1 (T1) (100% mulberry leaf), T2 (50% of mulberry leaves, 50% Gliricidia leaves) and T3 (100% Gliricidia leaves). The parameters were observed in the study were: weight gain (WG), slaughter weight, carcass weight and percentage, and the percentage of non-carcass weight. The results showed that the average W. Gited Nations T3 (26.98 g/day) was significantly different (P0.05) with T2 (22.83 g/day) and T1 (22.42 g/day), but T2 and T1 are not significantly different. In line with the average slaughter weight is from highest to lowest T3 (13.29 kg), T2 (11.21 Kg) and T1 (10.37 Kg). Followed by the average carcass weight were significant (P0.05) as a result of treatment. The average carcass weight T1 (4.17 Kg), T2 (4.24 Kg) and T3 ((5.38 kg). Whereas in the average carcass percentage effect is not significant (P0.05) as a result of treatment with a range of 38.43 -39.43%. Similarly, the weight of non Kakas and non carcass percentage of the average range of 50.73 to 55.09%. Based on the results research, it can be concluded that the natural feeding mulberry and gliricidia real effect on body weight gain, slaughter weight and carcass weight but had no effect on carcass percentage, non carcass weight and carcass percentage

Abstract

Bali cattle (Bossondaicus,Bosjavanicus,Bos/Bibos Banteng) are one of Indonesia's native livestock genetic resources that greatly contribute to the development of the livestock industry in Indonesia The purpose of this study was to compare the proportions of meat, bone and fleshing index of Bali cattles at different ages. This research was conducted in Kendari City Slaughterhouse by observing the slaughter of 89 cattles. The results showed that Bali cattles at different ages showed a significant effect (P <0.05) on the proportion of meat, bones, and fleshing index. It can be concluded that the age of cattles is directly proportional to meat production. Cattles with 5 years of age have a maximum meat content of 27.22% and bones of at least 18.61%, while in terms of fleshing index Bali cattles aged 4 years have the highest fleshing

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the influence of age differences on the growth of Bali cattle that are traditionally reared in cages. The number of cattle used were 9 heads. During the study, individual cages were used. This study had a randomized block design with three ranges of body weight as a group. The treatment in this study was the difference in the age of cattle, which consisted of cattle aged 1 year (I1), age 2 years (I2) and 3 years (I3). The results showed that the difference in the age of the cattle had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the dry matter consumption of feed, daily body weight gain and the conversion of Bali cattle feed traditionally reared in pens. However, there is a tendency that cattle aged 1 year have better growth and efficiency in using feed than cattle aged 2 and 3 years. It can be concluded that raising cattle at 1 year of age results in more efficient growth than cattle at 2 and 3 years. However, further testing needs to be done with a higher number of cattle and a wider range of body weight.

Abstract

Buffalo meat has a good nutritional profile for the development of processed livestock products to meet consumer demand. For some reason, buffalo meat is less desirable to consumers because of its dark colour, coarser fibres, and tougher texture. Innovative product development is necessary as consumer demand tends to shift to ready-to-eat products. Processing buffalo meat into patties is an innovation in product development. Quality products require beneficial ingredients. Fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum-graecum) are herbal spices that are beneficial for health, contain protein, fibre, stabilizers, and emulsifiers, and have the potential for product development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of anise seed addition on the characteristics of buffalo meat patties. This study used a factorial Complete Randomized Design (4x2) with 4 replications. The factor I was the addition of fenugreek powder, F0 = control or 0%, buffalo meat patty dough + (F1 = 3% fenugreek powder; F2 = 6% fenugreek powder; F3 = 9% fenugreek powder). Factor 2 had a storage time of D1 = 30 days and D2 = 60 days.
