Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the transformation of traditional customary institutions from conflict mediators into development agents that support village independence through community-based tourism. The focus is on the Majelis Krama Desa (MKD) in West Nusa Tenggara, which has evolved from a reactive dispute resolution body to a proactive institution in community-based development. The research method employed a literature review with a thematic approach, analyzing scientific publications, policy documents, and official reports published between 2015 and 2025. The findings reveal that the transformation of MKD from a conflict resolution institution into a driver of village self-reliance through tourism significantly contributes to the achievement of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). The main challenges include cultural erosion, authority conflicts, and limited institutional capacity. This study recommends strengthening MKD through systematic capacity-building programs and integrating its roles into the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Desa (Village Medium-Term Development Plan).

Abstract

This article discusses strategies for empowering the Islamic economy through inclusive political policies, focusing on how Islamic economics can contribute to economic stability and welfare in Indonesia. Amid global economic uncertainty, Indonesia, as a predominantly Muslim country, has great potential to utilize the Islamic economic system as an alternative solution to economic crises. The empowerment strategies involve Islamic instruments such as zakat, infak, sedekah, and waqf, which aim to redistribute wealth and strengthen individual capacities, particularly for marginalized groups. Inclusive political policies in Islamic economics emphasize the importance of involving all stakeholders, including the government, the private sector, and the community, to create fair access to economic resources. Additionally, these policies support literacy and economic training efforts, as well as access to capital for vulnerable groups. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods to identify various inclusive political policies in Islamic economics, drawn from literature and in-depth interviews with Islamic economic experts.

Abstract

The overcapacity of correctional institutions in Indonesia has led to various complex humanitarian, legal and social problems. One of the solutions pursued by the government is the assimilation policy, which aims to reduce the capacity burden while encouraging the social reintegration of prisoners. However, the implementation of this policy is often trapped in a legalistic-formal approach that ignores aspects of substantive justice. This article examines the implementation of the assimilation policy in the perspective of progressive law, which places law as a means of social transformation, not merely a normative rule. Through normative legal research methods with statutory, conceptual, and philosophical approaches, this article finds that the progressive legal approach plays an important role in encouraging assimilation policies that are more humanist, inclusive, and just. Progressive law emphasizes the importance of rehabilitation, community participation, and protection of prisoners' rights as part of the development process. In addition, concrete support is needed in the form of job training programs, psychosocial assistance, and fair and transparent supervision. By emphasizing the principles of justice, humanity and social benefit, the implementation of progressive law-based assimilation can reduce stigma against prisoners and create a more dignified correctional system. The results show that the success of the assimilation policy is greatly influenced by the synergy between an adaptive legal approach and strong social participation. In conclusion, progressive law can be an effective foundation for reforming correctional policies to be more oriented towards recovery, not just punishment

Abstract

In simple terms, money laundering is an effort made to disguise or make unclear hot or dirty money (dirty money), namely money originating from illegal practices such as corruption, trafficking of women and children, terrorism, bribery, smuggling, selling illegal drugs, gambling, prostitution, banking crimes and other unhealthy practices. The term Money Laundering (ML) denotes the process carried out by criminals to encourage the true origin of the proceeds obtained from criminal activities and to make their money appear to be clean money or legitimate income. A good law must be able to become a social engineering tool that is able to create or change a bad or unfavorable situation to a better one, so that society will increasingly feel the benefits of the law. So what is meant by the term law is a tool of social engineering is not just a theory as written by Roscoe Pound. If you want to pay special attention to the development of law in Indonesia, you can also see it from the laws created by the government. The development of this legislation can be seen from 3 (three) government periodizations, namely: old order government, new order government, and post-reformation government. One of the regulations that has generated a lot of content and controversy in the regulation of the eradication and prevention of money laundering crimes is the provisions of Article 69 of Law no. 8 of 2010. As for Article 69 of Law no. 8 of 2010 states "In order to carry out investigations, settlements and examinations in court regarding the crime of money laundering, it is not necessary to prove the original crime first." Many practitioners and academics do not agree with the application of this article, because according to them, if an investigation and prosecution is to be carried out in court, it is mandatory that the predicate crime or what is better known as the initial crime be proven first. The TPPU Law adheres to the principle of double criminality with the consideration that the crime of money laundering is one of the cross-border crimes or transnational crimes. "The affirmation of the adoption of the dual criminality principle is very important in relation to international cooperation in the field of eradicating money laundering crimes" In writing this research, the author raised the problem formulation, What is the legal politics of eradicating the crime of money laundering in Indonesia so that justice can be achieved?

Abstract

Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2012 concerning Food mandates the preparation of safe food consumption that can be done with hygiene. One party that can play a role in ensuring safe food consumption is the Catering Service provider. Unfortunately, most catering entrepreneurs in Indonesia do not understand the hygiene requirements that are closely related to health. Hygiene behavior in food handlers greatly affects the quality of catering food. From the researcher's initial survey, there were several catering services that had poor hygiene behavior. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the hygiene behavior of food handlers in the Cikarang catering service, Bekasi Regency in 2024. This study is a quantitative cross-sectional design study. The sample of this study was 100 food handlers in the Cikarang Bekasi catering service. Data collection was carried out by interview using a questionnaire. The analysis of this study was univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The univariate results showed that most respondents had poor food handler hygiene behavior (65.0%). Bivariate results showed a relationship between education, knowledge, attitude, PPE, facilities and infrastructure, superior support, friend support, counseling with food handler hygiene behavior (P <0.05). Multivariate results showed that the PPE variable was the dominant variable that influenced food handler hygiene behavior with OR 174 (95%CI 21-1432). Abstract

This research aims to analyze the evolution of forestry licensing regulations before and after the enactment of the Job Creation Law (CK Law). Utilizing a normative juridical approach, this study examines conceptual, statutory, and historical aspects of forestry law. The findings reveal that the politics surrounding forestry law significantly impact the balance between investment-driven economic interests and the preservation of sustainable forest cover. Prior regulatory issues in forest management remain unaddressed by the CK Law, which primarily emphasizes the exploitation of forest resources. This focus could exacerbate carbon emissions as forest utilization investments increase. While the changes introduced by the CK Law are designed to boost investment by simplifying licensing procedures, permitting multi-business activities, and facilitating foreign investment, they also present challenges for natural resource management. The revisions dilute commitments to forest conservation, reinforce disparities in forest product utilization between large corporations and local communities, and marginalize traditional forest-dependent populations. The novelty of this research lies in its critical examination of how legal reforms aimed at economic growth may unintentionally undermine long-term environmental sustainability and social equity. The urgency of this issue is highlighted by the potential long-term consequences of these legal changes on both environmental health and community welfare. This study contributes to the broader discourse on balancing economic development with environmental protection in Indonesia’s forestry sector.
