Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of Islamic-based empathic communication in the GCKI (Indonesian Smart Communication Movement) program as a strategy for handling bullying cases at Al-Basyariah High School Bogor. Using a case study method, this study analyzes how empathic communication, both cognitive and affective, can be applied in an educational context to create a more inclusive and safer environment for students. Cognitive empathic communication theory emphasizes understanding the perspective of others, while affective empathic communication focuses on emotional resonance and concern for the feelings of others. The Islamic approach reinforces the moral and ethical values that underlie social interaction, emphasizing the importance of compassion, justice, and mutual respect. The results of the study show that the application of Islamic-based empathetic communication in the GCKI program at Al-Basyariah High School in Regency Bogor succeeded in reducing bullying incidents, increasing students' awareness of the impact of bullying, increase students' awareness of the impact of negative behavior, as well as build solidarity among them. This finding is expected to be a reference for other schools in developing more effective anti-bullying programs.

Abstract

Private transportation is one of the main sources of emissions in Indonesia, which contributes to an increase in greenhouse gases due to excessive CO₂ emissions. This research aims to create a database of motorbike and passenger car activity, determine the CO₂ emission factor from various types of vehicles, and analyze the total CO₂ emissions from motorbikes and passenger cars in Banda Aceh. Data was collected through three survey methods: questionnaire, video, and GPS Logger. Questionnaires were distributed via Google Form to 400 respondents to determine patterns of use of motorbikes and passenger cars. Video surveys analyze traffic composition, while GPS Loggers are used to map driving conditions on Banda Aceh's arterial roads. The data obtained was then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the International Vehicle Emissions (IVE) model to calculate the emission factors for motorbikes and passenger cars in Banda Aceh City. The average Vehicle Specific Power (VSP) value for motorbikes was recorded at 1,449 kW/ton, while for passenger cars it was 1,456 kW/ton. The average CO₂ emission factor for motorbikes is 6.26 gr/km/hour per vehicle, and for passenger cars it reaches 51.54 gr/km/hour per vehicle. This CO₂ emission factor is relatively low in Banda Aceh. CO₂ emission predictions based on traffic volume show average motorbike emissions of 12.81 kg/km/hour, while passenger cars reach 72.83 kg/km/hour.

Abstract

Education in the 21st century demands technology support, in which gameful media, such as educational games, can provide. Providing this support also requires the media to accommodate the different needs of the players, which can be identified by classifying the players’ type using HEXAD typology. However, the effect of HEXAD type classification on players’ experience in gameful media is still vague. This study aims to adress this vagueness by exploring the implementation of HEXAD in a more systemic and fine-grained manner using a playtest of an educational role-playing game. We measured the playtesters’ gameplay and learning experiences (n = 60) through a questionnaire developed based on HEXAD scale, GUESS, and EGameFlow. We also measured the correlation between the playtesters’ HEXAD types and their gameplay and learning experiences. Our analysis of the correlations uncovers exciting findings, including that the “achiever” type strongly appreciates playability features and that playability is among the essential gameplay factors for HEXAD types. We also propose design principles that can guide future research and development of the media.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of maturity of occupational safety culture at PT Khotai Makmur Insan Abadi as part of the evaluation of the Mining Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3P). The concept of maturity level in safety culture is used as an innovative approach to improve safety culture in high-risk companies. The method used is qualitative research with descriptive analysis, where data is collected through a questionnaire containing 30 questions covering psychological, behavioral, and situational aspects in five dimensions: information communication, commitment, organizational learning, leadership and engagement, and competence. The results showed that most employees paid less attention to the OSH aspect, with a greater focus on improving production compared to safety. As a recommendation, it is recommended to make SOPs related to the punishment system that needs to be applied by superiors to subordinates, as well as the development of an easily accessible K3 information system. Companies also need to prioritize reminders of the importance of safety and the impact of violations on the safety of the surrounding environment. The results of this evaluation are expected to help PT Khotai Makmur Insan Abadi in developing a mature work safety culture and increasing the effectiveness of SMK3P in its work environment.
