Abstract

The environmental crisis in Bekasi Regency, such as flooding and high waste production, requires educational solutions based on environmental character. This research aims to develop an e-module project based on the local wisdom of Sabilulungan for elementary school students, using a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach and digital technology. The ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) method was used through five stages: teacher needs analysis, module design based on Google Sites and Canva for Education, trials at SDN Pasirsari 03, and holistic evaluation. Expert validation results showed high feasibility (94% technology experts, 93% environmental experts). The implementation of this e-module significantly increased student engagement: cognitive (50%→89%), affective (45%→84%), and behavioral (59%→90%). In addition, this e-module succeeded in reducing school waste by 15% and strengthening school-community collaboration through the Sabilulungan Festival. The advantages of this innovation lie in the integration of local values and the flexibility of adaptation to other regions. The implications of this research encourage adoption by policy makers with teacher training and replication guidelines based on local wisdom.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the impact of foreign investment, domestic investment, COVID-19, and interest rates on economic growth across 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2010 to 2023, a period encompassing both pre- and post-pandemic phases. The urgency of this research lies in understanding how these factors have influenced regional economic performance, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted global and local economies. This study uses a Panel data regression model, fixed-effects, and robust standard errors. The result analysis reveals that the regression model explains that 44.33% of the variation in economic growth can be attributed to domestic and foreign investments; and interest rates. The probability test results show that foreign investment significantly affects economic growth more than domestic investment. Interest rates did not significantly impact economic growth during the COVID-19 period, as indicated by the statistical analysis. It implies that despite its potential role in stabilizing the economy, interest rate policies may have been less effective in fostering growth during the pandemic. These findings highlight the critical role of foreign investment and pandemic-related factors in shaping economic growth dynamics in Indonesia provinces.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of developing differentiated instructional modules and the difficulties faced by pre-service teachers in the English Education Program at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH). This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a sample of 34 seventh-semester pre-service teachers who have developed differentiated instructional modules. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document checklists. Informants were selected using purposive sampling. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted through several stages, namely data organization, transcription of interview results, repeated reading of data, coding, identification and grouping of themes, and data interpretation. The research findings indicate that pre-service teachers have attempted to incorporate elements of differentiated instruction into their module development, including adapting content, processes, and learning products to meet students’ needs. However, this implementation has not yet been fully optimized due to the limited variety in some of the differentiation components developed within the modules. In addition, various difficulties were encountered in the module development process. These difficulties stemmed from internal factors, such as a basic understanding of the concept of differentiated instruction that still needs to be developed and a lack of pedagogical experience, as well as external factors such as limited module references. Therefore, further training and mentoring are needed so that pre-service teachers can develop differentiated instruction modules more optimally and in accordance with students' needs.

Abstract

Teaching media design is a crucial competence for English Language Education students, as it requires the integration of pedagogical understanding, content knowledge, and practical instructional skills. This study aims to analyze the quality of teaching media designed by undergraduate students and to examine the challenges they faced during the media design process. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study involved students of the English Language Education Department at Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji who had completed the English Language Teaching Media course. Data were collected through document analysis of conventional and technology-based teaching media, questionnaires administered to 41 students, and semi-structured interviews with eight selected participants. The findings indicate that the overall quality of student-designed teaching media was categorized as good, particularly in terms of visual appeal, material relevance, and basic practicality. However, notable challenges were identified in aligning media with learning objectives, ensuring efficiency and ease of implementation, and fostering meaningful student engagement. The study further reveals a gap between students’ technical and aesthetic strengths and their pedagogical and practical competencies. These findings highlight the need for more balanced instructional support that emphasizes instructional alignment, efficiency, and learner-centered design. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of teaching media design in English Language Education and provides pedagogical implications for improving media design courses in teacher education programs.
