Abstract

Empathy is a change in emotional state that results from reflecting on the emotional state of others and experiencing an emotional quality similar to the emotions experienced by other people. The Light-Moran Positive Empathy Scale (PES-15) was developed to measure positive emotional responses to others’ emotional expressions. This study aims to adapt Light-Moran PES-15 and test the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of Light-Moran PES-15. A total of 101 Indonesian students participated by completing the Indonesian version of Light-Moran PES-15. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha, corrected item-total correlation, and CFA. The Cronbach's alpha result = 0.89 with each dimension being 0.79 and 0.83. Item-total correlation = 0.39 – 0.72. CFI = 1.00, TLI = 1.00, NFI = 0.981 RMSEA = 0.00. This shows that this measuring instrument can be trusted and is able to measure the level of positive empathy with the Indonesian student population. This study provides an important contribution to the development of empathy measurement tool in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of financial and non-financial variables on stock underpricing during the Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2020 to 2024. The financial variables studied include Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Company Size, while non-financial variables include Underwriter Reputation and Company Age. The method applied was a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis and processed with the Eviews 12 Software tool. The population of this study is 278 IPO companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2024 period. The sample in this study consisted of companies that conducted IPOs during the period, as many as 38 companies were selected through purposive sampling techniques with 190 company data. The results show that partially Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Company Size and Underwriter Reputation have a significant influence on stock underpricing. On the other hand, the Age of the Company did not show any significant influence that was meaningful individually. This study presents the impact for investors, companies issuing shares, and underwriters in recognizing the elements that affect the determination of stock prices during initial public offerings.

Abstract

Kindingan Village has a population of 719 people with a percentage of 99% earning a living as farmers and planters. The condition of the community that is too dependent on nature in any aspect over time turns into a serious problem. In the past few years, problems have often occurred, one of which is that several times the community has experienced crop failure which has a huge impact on them. This is caused by extreme weather and the season that is always transitional. Therefore, the service team proposed a program inspired by the potential of basket weaving skills by the Kindingan Village community which was then implemented into a program called “Rumah Kreatif”. Where we as a team of servants conducted the formation of basket production groups and socialization of online marketing with the community. The program implementation applied a participatory approach. In an effort to build community participation, the service team applies the live-in method, which is living in the village during the implementation of the service and actively involved in community activities outside of the service program. The duration of the program implementation is 58 days, starting from July 18, 2024 to September 13, 2024. The results achieved from the implementation of this service program are the creation of new jobs outside the agricultural sector, so that it is expected to increase income. Long-termimpact is expected in the form of improving the village economy through the sustainability of creative businesses managed by the local community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Collaborative Problem Solving model on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, to analyze the effect of learning independence on mathematical problem-solving abilities, as well as to analyze the interaction between the learning model and the level of learning independence. Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the cognitive skills emphasized in the objectives of mathematics learning. The research approach used in this study is quantitative with an experimental method. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Karawang Barat in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in class VIIC as the control class and class VIID as the experimental class. The instruments used were essay tests to measure mathematical problem-solving abilities and questionnaires to measure learning independence. This research was carried out in three stages: pretest, treatment, and posttest. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test, one-way ANOVA with a 5% significance level, and two-way ANOVA with a 5% significance level. The results of the study indicate that: (1) there is an effect of the Collaborative Problem Solving model on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities; (2) there is an effect of learning independence on mathematical problem-solving abilities; (3) there is no interaction between the learning model and learning independence on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. It can be concluded that the Collaborative Problem Solving model has been proven effective to be applied to students with various levels of learning independence

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics teaching module based on the APOS (Action, Process, Object, Schema) model integrated with GeoGebra, focusing on the topic of quadratic functions for tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Muara Beliti. The research employed the Plomp development model, which consists of five phases: preliminary investigation, design, construction, validation, and limited testing. The module was developed under the cognitive stages of the APOS model: action, process, object, and schema, and was enhanced through visual exploration using GeoGebra. The research subjects consisted of tenth-grade students and a mathematics teacher at SMAN 1 Muara Beliti, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through documentation, expert validation sheets, and practicality questionnaires completed by the teacher and students. The findings indicate that the developed module is highly needed by students and significantly addresses their difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. Expert validation yielded an average score of 87.85%, classified as highly valid. Practicality testing produced scores of 92.50% from the teacher and 90.41% from the students, both categorized as highly practical. Thus, the module facilitates interactive, conceptual, and contextual learning aligned with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Accordingly, it is deemed a feasible and innovative instructional resource for high school mathematics learning.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia has brought about significant changes in the educational landscape, particularly through the introduction of Differentiated Instruction. This qualitative descriptive research aimed to analyse the implementation of Differentiated Instruction in the English subject at SMP Islam De Green Camp Tanjungpinang, a Sekolah Penggerak for the Merdeka Curriculum. The study focused on exploring English teachers' perceptions of Differentiated Instruction, their understanding of its concept, and the extent to which it was being implemented in their classrooms. The findings revealed that while teachers generally had a positive perception of the Merdeka Curriculum and Differentiated Instruction, their practical implementation was still evolving. Although they understood the theoretical underpinnings of Differentiated Instruction, there were gaps in fully differentiating all four elements of instruction: content, process, product, and learning environment. This research contributes to the understanding of how Differentiated Instruction is being interpreted and applied in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, highlighting both the progress made and the areas that require further development to fully realize the potential of Differentiated Instruction in enhancing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the level of self-confidence among seventh-grade students in mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 3 Klari. Self-confidence is one of the important affective aspects that contributes to student success, especially in mathematics, which is often perceived as a difficult subject. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 30 students as respondents. The instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire, validated by two experts. Data were analyzed using percentage calculations and attitude scale interpretation. The results showed that the average level of students’ self-confidence fell into the more than half category, with an overall percentage of 63.76%. These findings indicate that while most students have demonstrated a moderate level of self-confidence in learning mathematics, more effective and supportive instructional strategies are still needed to enhance students’ belief in their own abilities.
