Abstract

Improving the quality of education does not only depend on teaching skills, but also on teachers' ability to conduct research and produce scientific works. One of the obstacles often faced by teachers is the lack of knowledge and skills in accessing and analyzing relevant scientific references to support their professional development. This study aims to provide training in the use of the Publish or Perish application to teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Somambawa in order to improve their ability to search for, analyze, and utilize scientific references. This activity is motivated by the need for teachers to improve their academic competence, especially in conducting research and scientific publications. The method used is direct training which includes material presentation, application usage practice, and group discussions. The results of the training showed that teachers were able to understand the functions of Publish or Perish, such as searching for scientific articles, citation analysis, and managing references effectively. The evaluation showed an increase in participants' understanding of how to search for relevant and reliable literature. Thus, this training makes a real contribution to supporting the development of teacher professionalism in the field of research and scientific publication.

Abstract

The Workshop on Using Quizizz in Mathematics Learning in Schools aims to introduce and train educators in using the Quizizz platform as an innovative and interactive learning tool. By using Quizizz, teachers can design interesting, game-based quizzes to increase student motivation and engagement in mathematics learning. This workshop discusses effective ways to integrate Quizizz in various mathematics topics, as well as providing examples of applying quizzes for basic to advanced material. Apart from that, participants are also taught about analyzing quiz results to assess student understanding and design appropriate follow-up. Through this training, it is hoped that teachers can optimize the use of technology in the classroom, enrich students' learning experiences, and create a fun and interactive learning atmosphere.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve public speaking skills for mosque youth in the Tuahmadani Village, Tuah Madani District, Pekanbaru City. Public speaking is an important skill for teenagers, because it can help them convey ideas, communicate effectively, and build self-confidence. The method used in this service is an intensive training approach. The service team will work with mosque administrators and young people to organize a series of public speaking trainings. The training materials will cover public speaking techniques, managing anxiety when speaking in front of a crowd, using the right body language, and how to compose and deliver a persuasive speech. The expected result of this service is an increase in public speaking skills for mosque youth in the Tuahmadani Village. With these skills, it is hoped that youth will be able to speak more confidently and effectively, and be able to convey positive messages to their peers and the surrounding community..

Abstract

Matematika sebagai pelajaran wajib dasar yang dipelajari pada jenjang SD harus diajarkan secara menarik dan menyenangkan. Rendahnya angka matematika disebabkan oleh momok menakutkan yang didapatkan oleh siswa bahwa pelajaran matematika sangat sulit. Sehingga perlu adanya kreatifitas dari guru, untuk mengajarkan dengan konsep yang lebih mudah dan menyenangkan. Longhand Method merupakan sebuah metode baru dalam penarikan akar bilangan. Longhand method memberikan konsep yang lebih mudah dalam mempelajari penarikan akar bilangan. Pelatihan long hand method dalam penarikan akar bilangan dilakukan di SD Inpres Kurik II Rawasari pada tanggal 30 Agustus bertujuan untuk membantu guru-guru dalam memahami long hand method agar dapat diimplementasika pada pembelajaran penarikan akar bilangan, pelatihan ini juga diharapkan dapat memotivasi guru untuk menemukan dan mengembangkan kreatifitas dan metode baru unutk menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan menarik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini terinspirasi dari kurangnya keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematika yang ditunjukkan oleh siswa, seperti yang terlihat dalam prestasi akademik siswa kelas delapan di MTs Syekh Jaafar Pulau Gadang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai sejauh mana metode pendidikan matematika realistis (RME) memengaruhi keterampilan pemecahan masalah dalam matematika siswa kelas delapan di MTs Syekh Jaafar Pulau Gadang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Quasi-Eksperimental, dengan menggunakan metode Simple Random Sampling. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari semua siswa kelas delapan di MTs Syekh Jaafar Pulau Gadang, dengan Kelas VIII A sebagai kelompok kontrol dan Kelas VIII B sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Analisis data akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Uji-T Sampel Independen dan Uji-N Gain, yang difasilitasi oleh SPSS versi 16. Dari analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat dampak yang nyata pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika antara siswa yang terlibat dengan pendekatan pendidikan matematika realistis (RME) dan siswa yang mengambil bagian dalam metode pembelajaran biasa di Kelas VIII MTs Syekh Jaafar Pulau Gadang, khususnya mengenai topik SPLDV.

Abstract

This article aims to review information about Student Introduction and School Atmosphere at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. The method used is an exploratory method. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. The subject of the research was one of the educators of the Mathematics study program at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok who teaches in class XII along with students of class XII at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. The results of the study showed that the researcher gained new experiences and provided the researcher with extensive knowledge for the future in the teaching and learning process as a prospective student. The researcher can also find out the situation and conditions related to the school concerned. The implications of personality at SMAN 1 Kuok are very good, both for educators and students. Educators have mature, wise, authoritative and noble personalities who are role models for students. The implications of professional competence of educators and pedagogy in improving student learning outcomes at SMAN 1 Kuok have been implemented, but during the Covid19 pandemic, the implementation process was considered less than optimal. The less than optimal professional competence of educators has an impact on improving student learning outcomes. Pedagogical competence at SMAN 1 Kuok has been implemented and educators are able to manage student learning. The implications of social competence at SMAN 1 Kuok have been implemented, educators interact effectively and efficiently with students, fellow educators, education personnel, guardians of students and the community.

Abstract

This article aims to review information about the Introduction of Students and the Atmosphere of Junior High Schools/Equivalent High Schools at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang City. The methods used are observation and interview methods. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang City. The technical implementation of Internship I began with the preparation and briefing stage. Then continued with the implementation stage of internship I, making a final report and ending with a Seminar. The results of the study showed that the internship activity l carried out at SMPN 1 Bangkinang City for 2 months and 8 meetings, it can be concluded that SMPN 1 Bangkinang City has good integrity, both in terms of facilities and in its learning process. SMPN 1 Bangkinang City has a spacious school environment with the condition of the building used very supportive for good and conducive teaching and learning activities. The school building is equipped with sufficient classrooms and has complete facilities. The atmosphere of the school environment is full of trees so that the air around the school is good and comfortable. In addition, the location of the school is very strategic, namely close to Sadion Tuanku Tambusai Bangkinang City. SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota has a tradition or good habits that students do every day. One of them is shaking hands every morning with the TEACHER, but now during the Covid-19 pandemic this is not done. And SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota also has many extracurricular activities and there are many trophies from competition achievements. The facilities and infrastructure at SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota are adequate to support smooth teaching and learning activities. SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota also provides a place of worship that is more than just decent, namely the construction of a prayer room. Overall, this school meets good standards in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Primary technological developments are advancing rapidly, and dementia patients and caregivers are becoming more open to online interactions for enhancing dementia care. However, most existing applications only focus on patients, and there is a need to expand their scope to include caregivers. Ideally, the application should be designed with the caregiver in mind, and considering the impact they experience while caring for dementia patients. Families are specifically targeting caregivers who are at the highest risk of experiencing caregiver burnout, such as those caring for patients. This literature review described the necessary functions and content for dementia caregivers, serving as a reference for designing, developing, and implementing smartphone solutions that meet user needs. This review utilized articles from three databases i.e. PubMed NCBI, ScienceDirect, and Tandfonline. The Boolean approach method was used to generate the exact keywords. The inclusion criteria for this study encompassed smartphone applications for dementia patients, focusing on function and content, published in English-language journals within five last years, with an emphasis on original research and free full access. In this review, six articles were obtained. From these six articles, four findings related to functions and content were identified i.e. education, interactive health promotion, interaction stakeholder, and referencing information sources. These four aspects could serve as references for developing comprehensive smartphone applications for caregivers, and facilitating integrated health care.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-LKPD based on discovery learning integrated with ethnoscience on acid-base material. The background of this study is based on the problem of low student understanding of the acid-base concept, the lack of visual and interactive media, and the limited use of technology in chemistry learning. This research is a design research study using the development model by Plomp, which consists of three stages: preliminary research, development/prototyping, and assessment phase. The results of the study show that the developed learning media is valid with an Aiken’s V value of 0.94, after being validated by seven experts (four content validators and three media validators). The practicality test indicates that the media is highly practical, with a practicality level of 98.5%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test shows that the media is effective, proven by the learning outcomes of students using the e-LKPD being significantly higher than those in the class that did not use the developed e-LKPD. Therefore, the e-LKPD based on discovery learning integrated with ethnoscience on acid-base material that was developed is feasible to be used as an innovative alternative in chemistry learning to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Medan. Pendekatannya yaitu Quasi eksperimen dan Pretest-Posttest Control Group sebagai desainnya. Memperoleh data dengan metode observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Terdapat dua sampel penelitian dengan masing-masing kelas berjumlah 32 peserta diidik, yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan Hasil pretest rata-rata sebesar 41,41 yang kemudian meningkat menjadi 82,5 saat posttest. Selain itu, rata-rata kelas kontrol memiliki senilai 32,81 dan meningkat menjadi 70,94 pada posttest. Dari hasil tersebut, diberi Kesimpulan yakni pencapaian hasil belajar peserta didik menggunakan problem based learning terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan disbanding dengan menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Artinya, penerapan PBL berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 24 Medan.
