Abstract

Social Entrepreneurship is a growing business model that addresses social and environmental issues through products and services. In Indonesia, the ecosystem supporting Social Entrepreneurship is expanding, but the lack of a unified definition and slow government recognition has led to varied practices and outcomes. This study aims to explore how Social Enterprises disclose their corporate identity and maintain accountability. Using Identity and Stakeholder Theory, the study examines five key identity aspects: mission, activity, governance, performance, and accountability. A multiple case study approach was applied to 10 Indonesian Social Enterprises chosen for their prominence and diversity. Data were gathered from official company websites, supported by interviews and CEO presentations from webinars in 2022 and 2023. Thematic analysis using NVivo software identified patterns across these identity aspects. The findings show that Social Enterprises prioritize social values like community development, empowerment, welfare, and sustainability over profit generation. Institutional commitment is reflected in impact reports, achievement profiles, SDG disclosures, and media coverage. However, financial performance is rarely disclosed, and accountability practices vary between formal impact reporting and informal stakeholder engagement. This study contributes by offering a framework for understanding how Social Enterprises disclose their identity and stay accountable. It also provides practical guidelines for policymakers and practitioners to strengthen the Social Entrepreneurship ecosystem in Indonesia. Future research should further explore the financial performance and long-term impact of Social Enterprises to balance social and economic goals.

Abstract

Melons are become a popular fruit cultivating inside the greenhouse using the drip irrigations in Indonesia. The application of internet of things-based monitoring is beneficial to optimize cultivation management. Another issue on melon cultivation inside the greenhouse is automation of the water and nutrient delivery. However, currently monitoring and control is expensive and difficult to modify by farmers. The aim of this study was to develop a low-cost technology and easy to use by farmers using internet of technology. The method used in this study consisted of analysis, design and implementation. The result of this study was a system monitoring to monitor air temperature, air humidity, media humidity and solar radiation inside the greenhouse integrated with nutrient or water delivery using drip irrigation. A web-based dashboard was developed as a user interface for the farmers and users. The overall cost to develop a system monitoring and control was 358.24 USD not including the water thank and nutrient delivery system (pump and irrigations pipe). The system was deployed and tested at Agribusiness and technology park IPB University.

Abstract

Consumer protection law in Indonesia, primarily governed by Law No. 8 of 1999, aims to safeguard consumer rights amidst the complexities of a growing economy. While this law has helped address power imbalances between consumers and businesses, it faces limitations in dealing with challenges arising from the digital economy, particularly in the realms of e-commerce and data privacy. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Indonesia’s consumer protection framework in the context of these modern challenges. Using a juridical-normative approach, the research analyzes relevant legal provisions through qualitative techniques, focusing on the applicability of existing laws to digital transactions. The study reveals significant gaps, particularly in the protection of personal data, cybersecurity, and privacy in e-commerce. Although various regulations, such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law and the Trade Law, provide some safeguards, they remain insufficient in fully addressing the risks posed by rapid technological advancements. The enforcement mechanisms are also weak, leaving consumers vulnerable to issues like fraud and data breaches. The study concludes that Indonesia’s consumer protection laws must be revised to address these new challenges, with a more comprehensive and centralized framework that aligns with international standards on data protection and digital transactions.

Abstract

It is very hard to keep an eye on garbage at the village level when there is no clear information about when sorted waste will be picked up and when sales will happen, and when there is no method for documenting waste data. This lack can cause garbage to build up in places where it shouldn't and make it harder to manage waste properly. To fix these problems, Badan Usaha Milik Kalurahan needs a mobile app that is easy to use and makes waste management tasks easier. BUMKALs are very important for helping communities grow and providing important services, like trash management. This study is all about making a trash management software, with a big focus on User Interface and User Experience principles. The design process uses a User-Centered Design method, which makes sure that users are included in every step. This method makes sure that the final application fits their demands and wants very well. In Caturharjo Village, which is in the Pandak Subdistrict of Bantul Regency, the local BUMKAL has taken the lead in starting community-based garbage management. But they still have problems with keeping track of data in a systematic way and having good ways to communicate. We used the User Experience Questionnaire to find out how users felt about the design of the program and how satisfied they were with it. The evaluation results show that the mobile app had mostly good feedback on all UEQ aspects, such as how clear, beautiful, and useful it was. All of the ratings were over the positive benchmark, which is really impressive. This shows that users were very happy with the application that was made, which means it may be successfully implemented and used.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a crucial concept in fostering tolerance and respect for diversity in multicultural societies. In Indonesia, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools) play a significant role in instilling the values of religious moderation as faith-based educational institutions. This article explores how mathematics learning can serve as a tool for teaching religious moderation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method, conducting thematic analysis of various scholarly journals. The findings indicate that mathematics education not only enhances cognitive skills but also helps shape students' character, promoting inclusivity and tolerance. By integrating religious moderation values—such as justice (al-'adl), balance (tawazun), and tolerance (tasamuh)—into math lessons (e.g., through contextual word problems or group discussions), Madrasah Ibtidaiyah can strengthen students' ethical and social awareness alongside their academic abilities. This research highlights the potential of mathematics as an interdisciplinary medium for nurturing moderate, pluralism-friendly attitudes in young learners.

Abstract

Abstract

Women's empowerment and environmental management are two important issues in sustainable development. Dharma Wanita Association (DWA) Probolinggo City responded to these two issues through creative training in making decorative flowers from used spunbond bags. This training aims to teach DWA members how to utilize spunbond bags, which often accumulate in households due to the policy to reduce the use of plastic bags, into economically valuable craft products. Apart from supporting policies to reduce plastic waste, this training also functions as a means of empowering women by increasing their skills and creativity in the field of handicrafts. The results of this activity are not only environmentally friendly decorative flower products, but also the potential for further development in the field of recycling-based crafts. This training opens up opportunities for participants to develop small businesses based on recycled products, as well as expand networks with other communities that support the waste management movement. In addition, the potential for this activity can be integrated with environmental education and adopted as a sustainable program to increase environmental awareness in society. With increasing awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, recycling-based training like this has bright prospects and can become a model for similar activities in the future. This activity not only provides economic and social benefits for DWA members, but also contributes to global efforts to reduce the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment.
