Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of prenatal exercise on the physical and psychological readiness of mothers before childbirth. Prenatal exercise is a form of physical activity specifically designed for pregnant women, which is believed to improve physical fitness, reduce stress, and psychologically prepare mothers for childbirth. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design on 40 pregnant women in their third trimester who participated in the prenatal exercise program at Community Health Center X. The results showed a significant increase in the physical and psychological readiness of pregnant women after participating in prenatal exercise regularly for 4 weeks. This indicates that prenatal exercise is effective in increasing maternal readiness for childbirth.

Abstract

Suboptimal breast milk production during the postpartum period is one of the causes of failure in exclusive breastfeeding. Psychological factors, fatigue, and lack of oxytocin stimulation can inhibit milk production. Oxytocin massage is a non-pharmacological intervention aimed at stimulating oxytocin to increase milk production and release. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of oxytocin massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. This study uses a quasi -experimental design with a one-way approach. group Pretest - posttest. The sample consisted of 30 postpartum mothers selected using purposive sampling. Breast milk production was measured using indicators of smooth flow and frequency of breastfeeding. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test Signed Rank Test. The results of the study showed an increase in breast milk production after oxytocin massage with a p value = 0.000 (<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that oxytocin massage is effective in increasing breast milk production in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) is an important component in improving the efficiency of health services, especially outpatient services. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of SIMRS implementation on the efficiency of outpatient services at Hospital X. The study used an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 60 respondents consisting of registration officers, nurses, and administrative staff. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi- Square test. The results showed a p value = 0.003 (<0.05) which means there is a significant relationship between SIMRS implementation and outpatient service efficiency. SIMRS has been proven effective in accelerating service time, increasing data accuracy, and reducing administrative errors.

Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic disease that is a public health problem with a continuously increasing prevalence. Smoking is a major risk factor for COPD, especially in adult men. This study aims to determine the relationship between smoking and COPD incidence in adult men in the working area of Community Health Center X. This study used an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 60 adult male respondents, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a smoking habits questionnaire and COPD diagnosis data from medical records. Data analysis used the Chi- Square test. The results showed a p value = 0.001 (<0.05) which means there is a significant relationship between smoking habits and the incidence of COPD. The conclusion of this study is that smoking habits are closely related to the increasing incidence of COPD in adult men.

Abstract

Preoperative anxiety is a common psychological response experienced by patients before undergoing surgery. High levels of anxiety can negatively impact the patient's physiological stability and the success of the surgical procedure. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce anxiety is music therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of music therapy on preoperative anxiety levels in patients at Hospital X. This study used a quasi -experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach with a control group. The study sample consisted of 60 pre- operative patients divided into an intervention group (n=30) and a control group (n=30). Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The intervention group received instrumental music therapy for 20–30 minutes before surgery, while the control group received only standard care. Data analysis was performed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests. The results showed a significant decrease in anxiety levels in the intervention group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Music therapy has been shown to be effective in reducing preoperative anxiety in patients . Therefore, music therapy can be recommended as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention in preoperative care.

Abstract

Background:Nosocomial infections are a common complication in patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Critical patient conditions, the use of invasive devices, and long hospital stays increase the risk of nosocomial infections. One recommended prevention strategy is the implementation of bundled care, which consists of a series of evidence-based actions consistently implemented. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of bundled care implementation on reducing the incidence of nosocomial infections in ICU patients. Method:This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach without a control group. The study sample consisted of 50 ICU patients selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data on the incidence of nosocomial infections were collected before and after the implementation of bundle care for 30 days. Data analysis was performed using a paired t-test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: The results showed a significant decrease in the incidence of nosocomial infections after the implementation of bundle care, with a p value of < 0.001. Conclusion:Consistent implementation of bundle care is effective in reducing the incidence of nosocomial infections in ICU patients.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) remains a health indicator that requires significant attention, especially in areas with limited health facilities. One contributing factor to the high MMR is pregnant women's limited knowledge of pregnancy danger signs, often leading to delays in seeking medical help. This community service activity aims to improve pregnant women's knowledge of pregnancy danger signs through integrated counseling and education. The activity was conducted in Village X and involved 45 pregnant women. The methods used included classroom counseling, interactive discussions, demonstrations of danger signs, distribution of leaflets, and knowledge evaluation using pre- and post-tests. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with an average pre-test score of 56.2 increasing to 86.7 in the post-test. Ninety-one percent of participants stated that this activity was very beneficial and increased their awareness of pregnancy risks. In conclusion, counseling on pregnancy danger signs is effective in increasing the knowledge and awareness of pregnant women. This activity is recommended for routine implementation by health workers as an effort to prevent complications early and improve maternal safety.

Abstract

Children's dental health is a crucial foundation for their future growth, development, and quality of life. The high caries rate among elementary school children in Indonesia indicates a low level of awareness about maintaining dental hygiene from an early age. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve students' understanding of dental and oral health through education, toothbrushing demonstrations, educational games, and direct dental health examinations. The activity was conducted with 20 students in grades I–VI at an elementary school. Results showed a 20% increase in student knowledge and the identification of various dental problems such as caries, plaque, and mild gingivitis. This program has had a positive impact on increasing oral health awareness in children and serves as a foundation for ongoing development.
