ABSTRACT Wounds in patients with diabetes mellitus are a common complication and carry the risk of infection and even amputation. Proper wound care is crucial to accelerate healing. Wound care methods include conventional and modern methods, each with distinct characteristics. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of conventional and modern wound care methods in patients with diabetes mellitus. This study used a quasi -experimental design with a comparative study approach . A sample of 60 patients was divided into two groups: the conventional wound care group and the modern wound care group. Data were collected through observation of wound development using a wound assessment sheet. Data were analyzed using an independent t- test . The results of the study showed that the modern wound care group had a faster average healing time compared to the conventional method with a p-value = 0.001 (<0.05) . The conclusion of this study is that modern wound care methods are more effective than conventional methods in accelerating wound healing in diabetes mellitus patients. Miscarriage is a traumatic experience that can have physical and psychological effects on mothers. Many mothers who have experienced miscarriage suffer from stress, depression, and even trauma that can affect their next pregnancy. This community service activity aims to provide psychological education to mothers who have experienced miscarriage in order to prevent depression and pregnancy trauma. The activity was carried out by lecturers and students of the Midwifery Study Program at Puskesmas X in August 2025. The activity methods included a pre-test, interactive psychological counseling, relaxation simulation, and a post-test. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge from 58.4% (pre-test) to 87.2% (post-test) and a decrease in anxiety levels based on the DASS-21 questionnaire. It can be concluded that psychological education is effective in increasing the knowledge and emotional readiness of mothers after miscarriage, thereby preventing depression and pregnancy trauma.

The labor process is a physiological event that is often accompanied by pain due to uterine contractions. Uncontrolled pain can cause fatigue, anxiety, and even slow down the progress of labor. One effective non-pharmacological method for reducing pain is breathing techniques. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of pregnant women regarding proper breathing techniques when facing the first stage of labor. The activity was carried out at Puskesmas X, targeting 25 pregnant women in their third trimester. The activity methods included education, demonstration, and hands-on practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of breathing techniques from 60% before education to 92% after education. Participants also reported an increase in their confidence in facing labor. This activity is expected to become a sustainable program in efforts to support safe and comfortable labor for mothers.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder frequently experienced by the elderly and impacts quality of life, physical health, and psychological well-being. Treatment of insomnia in the elderly is often hampered by the side effects of long-term use of sleeping pills. Hypnotherapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to safely and effectively address sleep disorders. This Community Service activity aims to improve the sleep quality of the elderly through the application of simple hypnotherapy. Implementation methods include education about insomnia in the elderly, training in basic hypnotherapy techniques, guided relaxation practice, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The results of the activity showed a decrease in insomnia complaints and an improvement in sleep quality in the elderly after participating in hypnotherapy sessions. Hypnotherapy can be an effective and safe alternative complementary therapy for treating insomnia in the elderly.

Lung disease is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the community, particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung disorders caused by exposure to air pollution and smoking. Most lung diseases develop slowly and often go undetected in the early stages because symptoms are still mild. Early screening through spirometry is a simple, non-invasive, and effective method for detecting impaired lung function early. This Community Service activity aims to conduct early screening for lung disease through spirometry and raise public awareness of the importance of lung health. Implementation methods include lung health education, spirometry examinations, interpretation of results, and health counseling. The activity results showed the detection of impaired lung function in some participants and increased public knowledge and awareness about early detection of lung disease. Spirometry screening is expected to be a preventive measure in reducing the burden of lung disease in the community.

Chronic diseases require continuous, long-term treatment to control symptoms, prevent complications, and improve quality of life. However, adherence to therapy in patients with chronic diseases remains low due to a lack of understanding of medications, their side effects, and the importance of regular medication use. Medication counseling is an effective strategy for improving patient adherence to therapy. This Community Service program aims to improve knowledge and adherence in patients with chronic diseases through structured medication counseling. Implementation methods include individual education and counseling, interactive discussions, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. Results indicate increased patient knowledge regarding medication use and improved adherence to therapy after counseling. This program is expected to serve as a promotive and preventive effort in the management of chronic diseases in the community.

Nutrition labels on food packaging are an important source of information for consumers in choosing healthy and safe foods. However, the public's lack of understanding of nutrition label information leads to errors in food product selection, potentially increasing the risk of non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension. This Community Service activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding nutrition labels on food packaging to support healthy food consumption behaviors. Implementation methods included educational outreach, interactive discussions, simulations of reading nutrition labels, and evaluation using pre- and post-tests. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in public knowledge regarding nutrition label components, serving sizes, and nutrient content of packaged food products. This education is expected to encourage the public to make wiser food choices and support efforts to prevent non-communicable diseases.

Miscarriage is one of the complications of pregnancy that still occurs frequently and can cause physical and psychological effects on mothers. Miscarriage prevention needs to be carried out by increasing pregnant women's knowledge about risk factors and the importance of early detection. This community service activity aims to increase pregnant women's knowledge about miscarriage prevention through health education and early detection of risk factors. The implementation methods include health counseling, interactive discussions, and basic examinations such as blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and obstetric history. Evaluation is carried out using pre-tests and post-tests to measure the increase in participants' knowledge. The results of the activity show an 85% increase in knowledge, as well as an increase in pregnant women's awareness of the importance of regular antenatal checkups. This activity is expected to contribute to reducing the incidence of miscarriage by increasing pregnant women's understanding and awareness of risk factors that can be prevented early on.
