Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas penerapan project based learning dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris di kelas X MIA 5 di SMA N 4 Singaraja. Jumlah subjek penelitian ini adalah 43 siswa, terdiri dari 22 perempuan dan 21 laki-laki. Pembahasan penilitian ini mencakup (1) topic-topik yang diajarkan dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan project based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja, (2) langkah-langkah dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan projek based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja, (3) jenis-jenis penilaian yang digunakan dalam pengajaran pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan projek based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi, metode observasi dan metode wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/ verification. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa topic-topik yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan project based learning adalah explanation text, recount text, narrative text dan expression of sympathy and invitation. Langkah-langkah pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan speculation, designing the project activities, conducting the project activities and evaluation. Jenis penilaian yang digunakan adalah penilaian sikap, penilaian pengetahuan dan penilaian keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menenukan bahwa guru di sekolah SMA N 4 Singaraja menerapkan project based learning dengan baik Kata Kunci : kurikulum 2013, project based learning, pengajaran bahasa inggris This present study aimed at discussing the implementation of project based learning in teaching English in class X MIA 5 in SMA N 4 Singaraja. The number of the subjects were 43 students, consisted of 22 females and 21 males. The discussion includes (1) the topics that were taught by using project-based learning in teaching English in SMA N 4 Singaraja, (2) the steps in teaching English by using project-based in SMA N 4 Singaraja and (3) the assessment types used in teaching English by using project-based learning in SMA N 4 Singaraja. Research methods used were documentation method, observation method and interview method. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/ verification. The result of the study showed that the topics taught by using project based learning were explanation text, recount text, narrative text and expression of sympathy and invitation. There were four steps found in implementing project based learning by the teacher namely speculation, designing the project activities, conducting the project activities and evaluation. Meanwhile the assessment types used were affective assessment, cognitive assessment and psychomotor assessment. The result of the study showed that the implementation of project based learning was implemented well by the teacher in SMA N 4 Singaraja.keyword : Curriculum 2013, project based learning, teaching English

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan keterlibatan orangtua dalam mendukung prestasi literasi bahasa Inggris siswa di NBBS Singaraja dan faktor yang mendukung suksesnya penerapan keterlibatan orangtua tersebut. Analisis keterlibatan orangtua dalam penelitian ini didasari oleh enam kerangka keterlibatan orangtua oleh Epstein (2009). Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas IV di North Bali Bilingual School (NBBS) Singaraja, sementara obyek penelitian ini adalah keterlibatan orangtua yang diterapkan melalui program-program sekolah untuk mendukung prestasi literasi bahasa Inggris siswa di NBBS Singaraja. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa: (1) keterlibatan orangtua di NBBS diterapkan melalui beberapa strategi yaitu melalui perseorangan (konseling dan parent’s conference) dan pertemuan (English Day Camp). Beberapa usaha juga dilakukan sekolah untuk melibatkan orangtua dalam mendukung literasi siswa yaitu dengan adanya Book Week, Memo Book, Class News, Reading Log Book dan Studi Lapangan. (2) faktor yang mempengaruhi suksesnya penerapan keterlibatan orangtua dalam mendukung prestasi literasi bahasa Inggris siswa di NBBS Singaraja adalah konsistensi orangtua dalam mengikuti sistem/aturan sekolah sehingga terbentuk suatu kebiasaan bagi siswa. Kata Kunci : Keterlibatan Orangtua, Literasi Bahasa Inggris, Prestasi Literasi Bahasa Inggris Siswa. This study aimed at analyzing the implementation of parental involvement in supporting the students’ English literacy achievement of the fourth grade students at NBBS Singaraja and factors that support the success of the implementation of parental involvement in supporting the students’ English literacy achievement at NBBS Singaraja. Parental involvement activities in this study was analyzed based on Epstein’s six types of parental involvement framework (2009). This study used a descriptive qualitative research design by involving the fourth grade students at NBBS Singaraja. The object of this study was parental involvement which is practiced through the school’s programs. The data were collected by conducting an interview and document analysis. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was found that (1) parental involvement in NBBS is practiced through many strategies like in person (counseling and parents’ conference) and in gathering (English Day Camp). Some efforts were also done to get parents involved in their children’s literacy activities through the existence of Book Week event, Memo book, Memo Book, Class News, Reading Log Book, and Field Study. (2) Factor that supports the success of the implementation of parental involvement in supporting the students’ English literacy achievement at NBBS Singaraja was the parents’ consistency in following the school’s system, so that the students’ habit can be built. keyword : Parental Involvement, English Literacy, Students’ English Literacy Achievement.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis relevansi bahan ajar dan jenis strategi pengajaran yang digunakan untuk Membaca 2 kursus dalam bahasa Inggris Departemen Pendidikan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa yang telah diambil Membaca 2 kursus dan dosen yang telah mengajar Reading 2Course dalam bahasa Inggris Departemen Pendidikan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang memanfaatkan checklist dan kuesioner. Data yang dikumpulkan dari para juri ahli 'checklist, serta kuesioner dosen dan checklist, dan juga siswa diskusi kuesioner dan focus group. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan relevansi Bahan Ajar dan Reading 2 silabus dikatakan "Sedikit relevan" untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar bahasa Inggris Departemen Pendidikan siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semua ahli memilih lebih dari 46% dari kriteria yang telah dicapai. Strategi pengajaran yang sering digunakan di Reading 2 saja wereDiscussion dan Instruksi Langsung. Hasil kuesioner dan diskusi kelompok terfokus dengan siswa dari 9 kelas yang berbeda menunjukkan fokus yang berbeda dari tujuan pembelajaran yang diperoleh oleh siswa dari setiap kelas karena perbedaan materi pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh dosen. Penggunaan strategi pengajaran yang juga tidak memenuhi kriteria pelajar dewasa ini gagal untuk mendorong motivasi siswa belajar. Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: keterampilan membaca, pembaca menengah, bahan ajar, bahan relevansi, dan strategi pengajaran. The purpose was to describe the relevance of the syllabus and instructional materials, as well as the quality of these learning materials, and to find out the students perception of Reading 2 course. The subjects of this research were the students who have taken Reading 2 course and the lecturer who have taught Reading 2 Course in English Education Department. This research was a descriptive qualitative research which was utilizing checklist and questionnaire. The data collected from the expert judges’ checklist, as well as lecturer questionnaire and checklist, and also students’ questionnaire and focus group discussion. The data obtained were descriptively analyzed. The finding of the research showed the relevance of Instructional Materials and the Reading 2 syllabus was said “Slightly Relevant” to be used as learning resource for English Education Department students. It showed that all experts choose more than 46% of criteria which had been reached. The teaching strategies that used frequently in Reading 2 course wasDirect Instruction. The questionnaire result and the focus group discussion with the students from 9 different classes showed different focus of learning objectives acquired by the students of each classes due to the differences of the learning material provided by the lecturer. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan checklist, serta kuesioner dosen dan, dan juga hasil penilaiian dari para ahli serta diskusi kelompok dengan mahasiswa. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar dan silabus yang digunakan dalam perkuliahan Advanced Reading dikatakan "Sedikit relevan" untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar di jurusan pendidikan bahasa inggris. Strategi pengajaran yang sering digunakan dalam perkuliahan Advanced Reading adalah Diskusi. Hasil kuesioner dan diskusi kelompok dengan mahasiswa dari 6 (enam) kelas yang berbeda menunjukkan fokus tujuan pembelajaran Advanced Reading yang berbeda di setiap kelasnya disebabkan karena perbedaan materi pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh dosen. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media di microteaching saja berdasarkan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini dirancang dalam dalam bentuk Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R & D) dari Dick & Carey (1990). Ada tiga langkah dalam desain penelitian ini, seperti: (1). Menganalisis kebutuhan dan permasalahan siswa kemudian digunakan sebagai dasar untuk merumuskan kompetensi yang akan dicapai. (2). Mengembangkan alat belajar dan keterampilan dasar, dan juga media dalam Microteaching saja. Data dikumpulkan dengan memberikan kuesioner kepada penilaian ahli. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan kombinasi antara pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data menunjukkan bahwa ada 7 jenis media dinilai oleh penilaian ahli seperti: media audio-visual, media visual, media audio, media online, media realia, bahan daur ulang dan media offline. Media yang dipilih tertinggi oleh para ahli adalah media audio-visual (100%) dalam bentuk menggunakan video. Ada juga tiga jenis media yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti: (1). Media untuk Pengajaran Konsep. (2). Media Pembelajaran Model. (3) Media untuk Simulasi.Kata Kunci : mata kuliah Microteaching, media yan diperlukan dalam Microteaching, media yang dikembangkan dalam Microteaching This research was aimed to develop media in microteaching course based on curriculum 2013. The research was designed in in the form of Research and Development (R & D) from Dick & Carey (1990). There were three steps in this research design, such as: (1). Analyzing the needs and problems of students then used as a basis for formulating competencies to be achieved. (2). Developing learning tools and basic skills, and also media in Microteaching course. The data were collected by giving questionnaire to the expert judgments. The data was analyzed by using the combination between qualitative and quantitative approaches. The data showed that there were 7 types of media judged by the experts judgement such as: audio-visual media, visual media, audio media, online media, realia media, recycled material and offline media. The highest selected media by the experts is audio-visual media (100%) in the form of using video. There were also three different kinds of media developed by the researcher: (1). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa relevansi dari materi pembelajaran dengan silabus dan tipe dari penggunaan strategi mengajar untuk mata kuliah Reading 1 di Jurusan Pendidikan bahasa Inggris. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah para dosen pada mata kuliah Reading 1 di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan daftar cek. Data dikumpulkan dari hasil daftar cek para dosen dan penguji ahli. Data didapatkan dengan analisa deskriptif. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan relevansi dari materi pembelajaran dan kriteria dari materi pembelajaran yang baik pada level "Sedikit relevan" untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar siswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari dua penguji ahli yang menyatakan 30% dari kriteria yang telah tercapai. Strategi pengajaran yang sering digunakan pada mata kuliah Reading 1 adalah small group work, problem solving, cooperative group, performance activities, writing and inquiry based learning. This research was a descriptive qualitative research by utilizing checklist. The data were collected from the lecturers and expert judges’ checklist. The data obtained were descriptively analyzed. The finding of the research showed the relevance of Instructional Materials and the criteria of a good material in the level of “Slightly Relevant” to be used as learning resource for English Education Department students. Based on the result of analysis from two expert judges stated 30% of criteria which had been reached. The teaching strategies that used frequently in Reading 1 course were small group work, problem solving, cooperative group, performance activities, writing and inquiry based learning.keyword : instructional material, reading skill, teaching strategies

Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menguasai simple past tense melalui modified memorization drill pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Jumlah subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa, yang terdiri dari 18 perempuan dan 14 laki laki di SMP N 2 Singaraja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menguasai simple past tense dan menjelaskan tentang bagaimana modified memorization drill meningkatkan kemampuan siswa di kelas VII.14. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Data diperoleh dengan tehnik analisis quantitatif dan qualitatif. Data quantitatif dianalisa dengan menggunakan rumus penghitungan dan data qualitatif dianalisa dengan menggunakan kuisioner perilaku. Hasil dari penelitian membuktikan bahwa simple past tense bisa meningkat dengan menggunakan modified memorization drill. Ini bisa ditunjukan pada hasil quantitatif yang melebihi target minimum yaitu 84% (nilai tengah post test I 72.5 dan nilai tengah post test II 96). Nilai tersebut melebihi nilai ketuntasan minimal yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas 2 di SMPN 2 Singaraja. Data qualitatif dari penelitian ini juga mendukung quantitatif data, yaitu siswa lebih rajin dan aktif, pada saat modified memorization drill digunakan dalam pelajaran bahasa inggrisKata Kunci : Modified memorization drill, Menguasai, Simple past tense This present study aimed at improving the students’ ability in mastering the simple past tense through modified memorization drill in the academic year of 2014/2015. The numbers of the subjects were 32 students, consisted of 18 females and 14 males in SMP N 2 Singraja. The purpose of the research are to improve the students ability in mastering simple past tense by using modified memorization drill and to discuss how modified memorization drill improve the ability of the second grade students in mastering simple past tense. This study was designed in the form of classroom action research. The obtained data were analyzed by quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. Qualitative data used to analyze data from post test and quantitative data used to analyze data from questionnaires of attitude. The proved that the students’ ability in mastering simple past tense could be improved through modified memorization drill. The quantitative data analysis result in which students achieved the minimum target 84% (mean scored post test I was 72.5 and mean scored post test II was 96). This result exceeds the expected minimum score of success required by second grade of SMP N 2 Singaraja. The qualitative data of the study also support quantitative data, that is, the students are more diligent, and active, during the English teaching and learning process. keyword : Modified memorization drill, Mastering, Simple past tense

Abstract

Guru dan strategi mengajar merupakan alasan utama dari kesuksesan pembelajaran. Namun, hanya ada sedikit penelitian yang menjelaskan mengenai strategi mengajar di sekolah luar biasa, maka hal tersebut menjadi fenomena utama dari penelitian ini.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan praktik pendidikan khusus terutama dalam hal strategi pengajaran yang digunakan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris dari siswa tunarungu serta kurang dengar (DHH) kelas 10 yang belajar di Sekolah Menengah Atas Luar Biasa untuk siswa tunarungu. Studi ini diaksanakan di SLB B Singaraja, Bali dimana siswa-siswa tunarungu mendapat pelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif yang hasilnya tergambarkan dari analisis pengamatan dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi-strategi mengajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran in SLB B Singaraja adalah strategi Pembelajaran Langsung, Diskusi Kelas, Problem Solving, dan Tutor Sebaya. Kata Kunci : Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing, Strategi Pengajaran, Tunarungu, Kurang Pendengaran Teacher and teaching strategies are the major cause of success in learning. However, there is only a few research that describes teaching strategies in special school, and thus it becomes the central phenomenon of this study. The purpose of this study is to describe the special education practice particularly in terms of the teaching strategies used by the English teacher of 10th grade Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) students who undergo Senior High School in special school for DHH students. The study was conducted in SLB B Singaraja, Bali where Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students have English subject. This study used a qualitative design whose the results reflect analysis of observations and interview. The result of the study revealed that the teaching strategies used in SLB B Singaraja by the teacher who was under study were Direct Instruction, Class Discussion, Problem Solving, and Peer Tutoring Strategy. keyword : Teaching English as Foreign Language, Teaching Strategy, Deaf, Hard of Hearing

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan strategi penguatan untuk membangun karakter siswa di TK Aura Sukma Insani (ASI) Kindergarten. Fokus dari penelitian ini berkaitan dengan jenis strategi penguatan yang digunakan dan pelaksanaan strategi penguatan yang digunakan untuk membangun karakter siswa di TK Aura Sukma Insani (ASI) Kindergarten. Objek penelitian ini adalah implementasi dari strategi penguatan yang digunakan untuk membangun karakter siswa di TK Aura Sukma Insani (ASI) Kindergarten. Sumber data diambil dari literatur terkait pada pengembangan karakter siswa menggunakan strategi penguatan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif baik secara induktif dan kualitatif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai karakter sebagian besar dibangun dengan menggunakan strategi penguatan. Strategi yang paling sering digunakan adalah dalam bentuk penguatan verbal dan pemberian hak istimewa. Temuan ini juga menunjukkan ada hubungan antara penggunaan strategi penguatan dan pembangunan karakter. Kata Kunci : Strategi penguatan, Nilai karakter This qualitative research aimed to describe the use of reinforcement strategies to build students’ character at Aura Sukma Insani Kindergarten. The focused of this research is relating the types of reinforcement strategies used and the implementation of reinforcement strategies that used to build the students’ character at Aura Sukma Insani (ASI) Kindergarten. The object of this research is the implementation of reinforcement strategies used to build the students’ character at Aura Sukma Insani (ASI) Kindergarten. The source of data was taken from related literatures on developing the students’ character using reinforcement strategies. The data were analyzed descriptively both inductively and qualitatively. The finding of the research shows that character value was mostly built by using reinforcement strategies. The most preferable strategies are in form of verbal reinforcement and privilege. The finding also shows there is a relation between the use of reinforcement strategies and character building.keyword : Reinforcement strategy, Character value
