Abstract

In this context, both Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama have played a role in presenting a moderate and progressive Islam, which can make a significant contribution to social, economic and educational progress in Indonesia. However, the challenge of maintaining a balance between tradition and renewal, as well as in facing the challenges of globalization and radicalization, remains homework that must be completed. The aim of this research is to find out how Indonesian Islam and Islam are progressing in the context of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data was collected through literature studies related to the concepts of Nusantara Islam, Progressive Islam, as well as the role of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in the development of Islam in Indonesia. The author examines various books, journal articles and relevant documents to analyze the role of these two Islamic organizations in facing challenges and realizing a moderate and progressive Islam. Islam Nusantara and Progressive Islam are two concepts that complement each other in the context of the development of Islam in Indonesia. Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, as two large mass organizations, have made significant contributions in realizing moderate, inclusive and progressive Islam. Despite facing various challenges, these two mass organizations continue to show their commitment to advancing society through education, da'wah and social programs. In the future, the challenges and opportunities that exist will test the ability of these two mass organizations to maintain the relevance of Islamic teachings in Indonesia's increasingly complex social and political life.

Abstract

Information is becoming more widely available in the era of globalization. Conventional paradigms in education have been changed by digital technology, including the internet, mobile devices, and computer-based learning resources. In addition, the development of a competency-based education system forces us to adapt to the demands of the ever-growing labor market. Knowing how Latest Education works: Transformation and Innovation in the Digital Era is the aim of this research. This research uses a library research approach, which involves reading various books or sources and analyzing references and findings from related previous research. This method is useful in obtaining a theoretical basis for the problem being sought. Finding a more thorough discussion of a subject or issue is the goal. This subject has been modified to fit the focus of the article. Literature study is a method qualitative of gathering information by looking at books, articles, notes, and other materials that are relevant to the problem you want to address. A lot of knowledge is said to be gained through the process of studying literature. Later, the writer will utilize this knowledge to complete or integrate the compositiong. Several relevant reference materials and previous research findings were studied in this research using library research techniques. The theoretical basis for the problems studied is also provided by reading various books or sources. Finding a more holistic approach to a subject or problem is the goal. This subject has been adopted as the new topic of this article. To gather information, literature studies look at books, papers, notes, and other publications related to the subject being discussed. The process of studying literature is thought to produce a lot of knowledge. The writer will then utilize this knowledge to complete or incorporate his work.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the work and thoughts of Tuan Guru Kyai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid in the context of Islamic education and his contribution to the nation's moral development through Nahdlatul Wathan. The method used is qualitative research with a library research model, where data is collected through literature searches on the Dimensions platform and Google Scholar. To analyse the themes and linkages in the previous discussion, the author used the VOSviewer application. The results show that, firstly, Tuan Guru is a functional elite figure in Islamic society who not only acts as a cleric, but also as a spiritual and social guide. Secondly, Nahdlatul Wathan educational institutions have characteristics as general education institutions based on Islamic values, with a focus on forming a generation of faith and piety, as reflected in the slogan ‘The main thing is NW, the main thing is NW Iman and Taqwa.’ Third, Tuan Guru's thoughts and struggles in establishing Nahdlatul Wathan reflect a great effort to form national cadres with Islamic character and national spirit, as stated in his monumental work Hizb Nahdlatul Wathan. Thus, the contribution of Tuan Guru KH. Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid through Nahdlatul Wathan is not only important in the field of education and religion, but also plays a major role in the moral and spiritual development of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Islamic values-based life skills education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character to be well-prepared for global challenges, particularly in the dynamic modern era. This research aims to explore the integration of Islamic values-based life skills education at SMP IT Sekolah Alam Ar-Royyan and its impact on character development, especially in terms of discipline, responsibility, honesty, and independence. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation from the school principal, teachers, and students. The data analysis technique employed is thematic analysis to identify key patterns and findings. The results indicate that programs such as Daurah Quran, project-based learning, Super Camp, and the Ar-Royyan Trip effectively foster students' life skills aligned with Islamic values, strengthening their morality and integrity in facing global challenges. However, this research has limitations regarding the scope and observation period, suggesting that future studies conduct comparative research in other schools and explore the development of digital skills based on Islamic values in life skills education in the modern era.

Abstract

Islam di Indonesia memiliki karakteristik unik yang lahir dari interaksi panjang antara ajaran Islam dan tradisi lokal. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi konstruksi identitas Muslim tradisional dan modernis di Indonesia dengan fokus pada perbedaan metodologi, praktik keagamaan, serta dinamika hubungan antara kedua kelompok. Kelompok Muslim tradisional cenderung mempertahankan tradisi lokal seperti tahlilan, yasinan, dan ziarah kubur, yang diwariskan melalui institusi pesantren. Sebaliknya, Muslim modernis berorientasi pada purifikasi ajaran Islam dengan pendekatan rasional dan kontekstual, yang tercermin dalam gerakan reformis seperti Muhammadiyah. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis kajian literatur dengan pendekatan teori konstruksi sosial Berger dan Luckmann. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat perbedaan mendasar antara kedua kelompok, terdapat titik temu dalam komitmen mereka terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Kolaborasi lintas kelompok terlihat dalam isu-isu keumatan dan nasionalisme, meskipun perbedaan ideologis kerap memunculkan dinamika konflik. Artikel ini menegaskan pentingnya dialog dan sinergi antara Muslim tradisional dan modernis dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi, perkembangan teknologi, dan isu-isu kontemporer. Dengan memahami dan menjembatani perbedaan, Islam di Indonesia memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi model keberagamaan yang inklusif dan harmonis. Kata Kunci: Islam Indonesia, Muslim tradisional, Muslim modernis, Identitas keagamaan, Harmoni sosial.

Abstract

Learning methods have an important position in achieving learning objectives. One of the reasons for the slow achievement of the goals that have been set is the inaccuracy in choosing the method. The Audiolingual method as applied by Arabic learning practitioners has been able to improve the quality of Arabic learning processes and outcomes. Therefore, this article explains, reveals, and analyzes in depth the Audiolingual method in theory and practice. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Research data were collected from library sources relevant to the research theme. The research data were analyzed in terms of content analysis by comparing various opinions of experts, the researcher concludes by determining the position among the existing opinions.  The result of the research is the Audiolingual method, which is a language learning method that emphasizes understanding what is listened to. This method emerged based on the behaviorism approach. In practice, the Audiolingual method is equipped with exercises on sentence patterns that aim to improve student's communication skills. The findings can be further developed by further researchers by examining the use of the Audiolingual method in various educational institutions through action, development, or research in the form of evaluation.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji secara komprehensif biografi dan pemikiran Buya Hamka dengan fokus utama pada analisis karya monumentalnya, Tasawuf Modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap kontribusi pemikiran Hamka dalam mendefinisikan ulang konsep tasawuf yang kontekstual dan aplikatif dalam kehidupan masyarakat modern. Melalui pendekatan normatif-teologis, historis-filosofis, dan sosiologis-psikologis, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa tasawuf versi Hamka bukanlah bentuk eskapisme spiritual, melainkan sarana pembentukan karakter, penyucian jiwa, dan penyeimbang kehidupan material dan spiritual. Hamka menekankan pentingnya integrasi antara syariat dan hakikat, serta menolak bentuk tasawuf yang menyimpang dari ajaran Al-Qur’an dan Sunnah. Pemikiran tasawuf yang ditawarkan Hamka memiliki relevansi tinggi dalam menjawab krisis spiritual, degradasi moral, dan kegelisahan batin manusia modern. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Tasawuf Modern adalah panduan spiritual yang aktual dan solutif dalam membentuk individu Muslim yang berakhlak mulia dan masyarakat yang berkeadaban.Kata Kunci: Buya Hamka, Tasawuf Modern, spiritualitas Islam, pembentukan akhlak, krisis modernitas

Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji secara komprehensif biografi, pemikiran keagamaan, serta kontribusi pendidikan dan sosial-politik Syekh Sulaiman ar-Rasuli (Inyiak Canduang), seorang ulama besar Minangkabau abad ke-20 yang berperan penting dalam mempertahankan tradisi Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah di tengah arus modernisme Islam. Melalui pendekatan historis-filosofis dan studi pustaka, kajian ini menyoroti peran Syekh Sulaiman dalam mendirikan Madrasah Tarbiyah Islamiyah (MTI) dan organisasi Tarbiyah Islamiyah (TI), yang menjadi pelopor sistem pendidikan Islam berbasis kitab kuning, adab, dan sanad keilmuan. Pemikirannya mencerminkan sintesis antara ortodoksi fikih, spiritualitas tasawuf, dan respon terhadap tantangan modernitas. MTI berkembang menjadi lembaga pendidikan yang tersebar luas dan mampu beradaptasi dengan kurikulum nasional serta tuntutan digitalisasi tanpa kehilangan identitas tradisionalnya. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini menegaskan bahwa warisan intelektual dan spiritual Syekh Sulaiman ar-Rasuli memiliki relevansi kuat dalam pengembangan pendidikan Islam yang berbasis nilai, kontekstual, dan berkelanjutan di era modern.Kata kunci: Syekh Sulaiman ar-Rasuli, Madrasah Tarbiyah Islamiyah, pendidikan Islam tradisional, Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah, tarekat, adab, sanad keilmuan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Madrasah Tsanawiyah 10 Padang Pariaman serta evaluasi terhadap faktor-faktor yang menyebabkannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan kepala sekolah serta observasi di lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran PAI disebabkan oleh kurangnya sarana dan prasarana pendidikan seperti buku bacaan dan media pembelajaran lainnya, yang berpengaruh pada rendahnya minat belajar siswa. Selain itu, minimnya variasi metode pengajaran guru menjadi faktor lain yang menyebabkan kurangnya motivasi siswa. Pembelajaran yang lebih berorientasi kognitif menyebabkan siswa hanya memahami agama secara teoritis tanpa implementasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, guru menerapkan strategi pemberian motivasi dan pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi serta memanfaatkan sumber daya yang tersedia untuk meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa.

Abstract
