Abstract

Nagari Pandam Gadang is a village in Gunuang Omeh District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province, with an area of 64.00 km² and a population of approximately 5,058. This article aims to present a comprehensive profile of the village, covering aspects of geography, history, public facilities, tourism potential, and the economic conditions of the community. The data in this article is compiled based on the Administrative Map created by KKN students from Padang State University in 2026, supported by field observations and related literature sources. Geographically, this village has a potential natural landscape for the development of the agricultural and tourism sectors. From a historical perspective, Nagari Pandam Gadang is known as the birthplace of national hero Ibrahim Datuk Tan Malaka. In addition, this village has natural tourism potential such as the Many Fish Tourism and the Lotus Cave, which have not been optimally managed. The community's economic condition is still dominated by the traditional agricultural sector. Therefore, an integrated development strategy is needed to improve community welfare through the sustainable utilization of local potential based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) design an interactive media-based learning tool using FlipBook for the subject of Industrial Electronics Engineering, specifically on the topic Elements of Industrial Control Systems, and (2) evaluate the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. The research was conducted with Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, utilizing the 4-D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data were collected in both qualitative and quantitative forms through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results show that the FlipBook-based interactive learning media covers four core content elements related to Elements of Industrial Control Systems. Expert evaluations indicate that the media has a very high level of validity, with an average score of 90%. Although the media was deemed feasible and effective, some limitations were identified in its implementation by instructors, particularly regarding technical readiness and integration into the learning process. The study concludes that FlipBook media holds great potential as an interactive learning tool in vocational education. However, further development is needed, especially in conducting needs analysis and designing adaptive content tailored to real classroom conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mobile-based information system for monitoring Praktek Kerja Lapangan (PKL) using Flutter Android, integrated with a REST API, at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The research is motivated by the need to digitize the PKL monitoring process, which has traditionally been conducted manually, resulting in inefficiencies and lack of structure. The development method employed is the Waterfall model of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), encompassing the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The developed system features key functionalities such as online PKL information delivery, camera-based attendance validation (front and rear cameras), daily digital journal management, evaluation, and real-time data reporting. Testing results using the White Box method indicate that all logical paths function correctly, with Cyclomatic Complexity values within acceptable limits. The study concludes that the developed PKL monitoring information system meets both functional and technical requirements, and effectively supports the PKL monitoring process in an efficient, transparent, and structured manner. The findings underscore the importance of digitizing PKL supervision systems in vocational schools to enhance the effectiveness of work-based learning.

Abstract

Waste management is a major challenge in environmental conservation in Indonesia. One innovative approach that can be implemented is the use of informative waste signs as a visual educational medium for the public. Waste signs are information boards placed in strategic locations to provide knowledge about the types of waste, their environmental impacts, and the decomposition time of various materials. The Community Service Program (KKN) of Padang State University (UNP) has implemented this concept by creating educational boards containing information on waste decomposition time, ranging from waste that decomposes in 50–100 years to waste that does not decompose at all. This article aims to examine the concept, benefits, and effectiveness of waste signs as a community-based environmental education instrument. The methods used include field observation and a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that waste signs can increase public awareness of the importance of proper waste management. Thus, this medium has the potential to be a simple yet effective educational tool in supporting sustainable environmentally friendly behavior.

Abstract

Insufficient conceptual understanding of roof construction elements often leads to suboptimal learning outcomes in vocational education. The technical nature of structural components requires high spatial visualization, which conventional materials fail to provide. This study aimed to develop valid, practical, and effective augmented reality learning media to bridge this gap. Utilizing the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), the research involved three-dimensional structural modeling and smartphone integration. Testing was conducted at SMK Negeri 5 Padang involving an experimental class (n = 32) and a control class (n = 12) within the Fundamentals of Construction and Housing Engineering subject. Data were gathered through validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pre-test post-test instruments. Results indicated high validity scores of 4.71 from media matter experts and 4.63 from subject experts, with practicality ratings of 95.76 percent from teachers and 93.00 percent from students. Statistical analysis via independent t-test revealed significant differences in post-test scores (t = 2.24, p = 0.03). Furthermore, the experimental group achieved a higher competency growth (N-gain 0.66) than the control group (0.51, p = 0.01). In conclusion, augmented reality is highly feasible for enhancing vocational learning outcomes by transforming abstract references into interactive visualizations.

Abstract

The establishment of solar power installations as a renewable energy option necessitates dependable monitoring systems to ensure peak performance. Nonetheless, current monitoring solutions typically emphasize only data visualization, lacking intelligent early warning features, which results in slower fault detection and faster battery deterioration. This research tackles this gap by creating a mobile monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), where both the threshold-based decision algorithm and notification logic are fully integrated into the mobile application, rather than the IoT hardware. The system employs an ESP8266 microcontroller exclusively for gathering data from a PZEM-017 DC sensor, transmitting raw readings to Firebase Realtime Database. A mobile application built on Flutter fetches data, checks it against user-defined thresholds (voltage, current, power), and produces immediate push notifications with anti-spam delays, audio alerts, and optional Telegram sending. Experimental outcomes from 30 measurement locations and 50 anomaly simulations indicate that the system reaches a voltage measurement error of 1.22% and a current error of 9.90% in comparison to a calibrated multimeter. The typical notification delay is 3.4 seconds, significantly less than the 10-second goal. In contrast to edge-based thresholding (on microcontroller), the mobile-centric method enables users to modify thresholds flexibly through the app without the need for hardware reprogramming, offers more extensive notification options (local pop-up, sound, Telegram), and streamlines IoT device upkeep. The specialized mobile interface provides enhanced customization and data logging features in comparison to standard platforms like Blynk or Telegram-based options.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based e-learning system as a supporting medium for learning in the Computer and Network Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The problems identified include the absence of an integrated digital learning system, limited access to learning materials outside the classroom, and conventional management of assignments and communication. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using the Waterfall approach, which consists of analysis, design, implementation, and testing stages. System design is carried out using Unified Modeling Language (UML), while implementation utilizes the PHP programming language supported by tools such as Laragon, Composer, and Node.js. System testing is conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all functionalities operate according to requirements. The results indicate that the developed e-learning system is capable of facilitating learning material management, assignment submission and assessment, photo-based attendance, and integrated announcement delivery. The system is considered to improve flexibility, effectiveness, and accessibility of the learning process without replacing face-to-face learning. Therefore, this web-based e-learning system can serve as an alternative solution to support learning activities at SMK Negeri 5 Padang.

Abstract

This study examined the effects of Training Quality and Work Motivation on Teacher Performance among vocational high school teachers. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted involving all 31 teachers at SMKN 7 Sijunjung using a census sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.0.8. The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Training Quality had the strongest positive effect on Teacher Performance (β = 0.646, p < 0.001), followed by Work Motivation (β = 0.416, p < 0.001). Together, both variables explained 64.9% of the variance in Teacher Performance (R² = 0.649). Enhancing teacher performance requires integrating high-quality professional development with strategies that strengthen teachers' work motivation

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM) untuk berinovasi melalui e-commerce guna memperluas jangkauan pasar yang sebelumnya terbatas pada area lokal. Toko Bunda menghadapi kendala pada sistem penjualan konvensional, yaitu pelanggan harus datang langsung untuk menanyakan ketersediaan barang, sementara pengolahan data penjualan dan pembuatan laporan masih dilakukan secara manual sehingga kurang efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun website e-commerce bagi Toko Bunda menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD). Tahapan penelitian meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem menggunakan Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementasi sistem, dan pengujian. Sistem dibangun menggunakan XAMPP, MySQL, dan phpMyAdmin dengan fitur utama berupa manajemen produk, keranjang belanja, checkout, konfirmasi pembayaran, data customer, dan laporan penjualan. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan Black Box Testing terhadap 5 modul utama dengan 16 skenario uji, dan seluruh fungsi menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan 100% sesuai spesifikasi kebutuhan. Uji coba terbatas pada 10 pengguna menunjukkan bahwa sistem mudah digunakan serta membantu proses pencarian produk dan transaksi secara lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan metode manual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa website e-commerce yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan data penjualan, mempermudah pelanggan dalam melakukan pemesanan secara mandiri, serta mendukung perluasan promosi produk melalui media digital. Dengan demikian, sistem ini dapat menjadi alternatif solusi transformasi digital bagi UKM dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan dan daya saing usaha. The development of information technology encourages small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to innovate through e-commerce to expand their market reach beyond local areas. Toko Bunda faces problems in its conventional sales system, where customers must visit the store directly to check product availability. In contrast, sales data processing and report generation are still carried out manually, resulting in low efficiency. This study aims to design and develop an e-commerce website for Toko Bunda using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. The research stages include requirements analysis, system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), system implementation, and testing. The system was developed using XAMPP, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin, with main features including product management, shopping cart, checkout, payment confirmation, customer data, and sales reports. Testing was conducted using Black Box Testing on 5 main modules with 16 test scenarios, and all functions met system requirements, achieving a 100% success rate. A limited trial involving 10 users indicated that the system is easy to use and helps users search for products and complete transactions faster than the manual method. The results show that the developed e-commerce website can improve the efficiency of sales data management, facilitate independent customer ordering, and support wider product promotion through digital media. Therefore, this system can serve as an alternative digital transformation solution for SMEs to enhance service quality and business competitiveness.

Abstract

Digitalisasi presensi staf pada fasilitas kesehatan primer diperlukan untuk meningkatkan akurasi, efisiensi administrasi, dan akuntabilitas kehadiran. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan prototipe sistem presensi staf Puskesmas Kota Tais berbasis pengenalan wajah dengan mengintegrasikan algoritma Haar Cascade untuk deteksi wajah dan Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) untuk pengenalan identitas. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah prototype dengan tahapan communication, quick plan, modeling, construction of prototype, serta deployment and feedback. Sistem dibangun berbasis web dengan dua peran pengguna, yaitu admin dan staf, serta didukung pipeline pengenalan wajah yang mencakup deteksi wajah, validasi kualitas citra dan deteksi mata sebagai lapisan anti-spoofing, pra-pemrosesan Tan-Triggs, Difference of Gaussian, dan CLAHE, serta pengenalan LBPH dengan konfigurasi radius 2, neighbors 12, grid_x 8, dan grid_y 8. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mengenali wajah staf terdaftar pada kondisi pencahayaan normal dengan skor kepercayaan 85,27%–85,60%, melampaui threshold 75%. Pada skenario impostor, skor turun menjadi 39,43%, sehingga akses berhasil ditolak. Pengujian blackbox terhadap 22 skenario mencatat keberhasilan fungsional 100%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi Haar Cascade dan LBPH layak digunakan sebagai solusi presensi digital yang responsif, contactless, dan akuntabel pada lingkungan Puskesmas. The digitization of staff attendance in primary healthcare facilities is necessary to improve recording accuracy, administrative efficiency, and attendance accountability. This study aimed to design and implement a face-recognition-based attendance prototype for staff at Tais City Public Health Center by integrating Haar Cascade for face detection and Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) for identity recognition. The system was developed using the prototype method, consisting of communication, quick planning, modeling, prototype construction, and deployment and feedback. The web-based system supports two user roles, namely administrator and staff, and applies a layered face-recognition pipeline that includes face detection, image-quality validation, eye detection as an anti-spoofing layer, Tan-Triggs preprocessing, Difference of Gaussian, CLAHE, and LBPH recognition with radius 2, neighbors 12, grid_x 8, and grid_y 8. The test results showed that the system recognized registered staff faces under normal lighting conditions with confidence scores of 85.27%–85.60%, exceeding the 75% acceptance threshold. In the impostor scenario, the confidence score dropped to 39.43%, and access was successfully rejected. Blackbox testing on 22 functional scenarios produced a 100% success rate. These findings indicate that the integration of Haar Cascade and LBPH is feasible as a responsive, contactless, and accountable digital attendance solution for a public health center environment.
