Abstract

Multicultural education is an alternative to build togetherness in the diversity of society, and multiculturalism requires the accommodation of minority rights, both cultural and social. This research focuses on constructing a multicultural understanding of religious sects disseminated through religious sects. The research aims to describe the multicultural education of religious understanding that aims to build social harmony amid the diversity of religious sects in Sana Daja village. This research approach uses qualitative ethnography type. The data sources in this research are leaders of religious organizations, heads of religious activities, kyai, lora, and people who know the changes in interaction between religious sects in the research location. The results showed that some religious groups in the village of Sana Daja disseminate multiculturalism through religious activities such as recitation, traditions, or community social activities; religious sects become instruments of social power to instill multicultural awareness. The construction of multicultural education between religious views begins with recategorization and desacralization, explaining the various interpretations of fiqh, emphasizing the substance and purpose of religious activities, and placing religious traditions as part of ijtihad products in the practical realm. This multicultural awareness construction can slowly open the isolation of minority religious groups, build communication between religious groups that have been constrained due to conflict, and foster an attitude of tolerance so that awareness is born to build ukhuwah Islamiyah in society.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a family–school synergy model for enhancing Qur’anic literacy among elementary school children through the Ummi method from Vygotsky’s social constructivist perspective. This research employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from books, journal articles, official documents, and relevant scholarly literature on Qur’anic literacy, the Ummi method, family involvement, school–family collaboration, and Vygotsky’s social constructivism. The data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and content analysis. The findings indicate that the Ummi method provides a structured foundation for Qur’anic learning through the principles of tartil, talaqqi, and ta’dib. Family involvement strengthens children’s Qur’anic literacy through home-based muraja’ah, motivation, religious modeling, and daily habituation. From a Vygotskian perspective, teachers and parents function as more knowledgeable others who provide scaffolding within children’s Zone of Proximal Development. The proposed model emphasizes school-based scaffolding, family-based scaffolding, collaborative scaffolding, and peer scaffolding as interconnected components in developing Qur’anic literacy. This study concludes that Qur’anic literacy should be designed as a collaborative learning ecosystem that integrates structured instruction, parental involvement, social interaction, and Qur’anic character formation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teacher exemplary behavior in character learning and its contribution to the formation of teachers who are longed for by students. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design at MI Muhammadiyah Tahuna. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students as the main participants. The data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that teacher exemplary behavior was reflected in discipline, honesty, responsibility, polite communication, empathy, fairness, emotional control, and consistency between words and actions. These behaviors functioned as moral models that students observed, imitated, and internalized in daily school life. Teacher exemplary behavior also influenced students’ motivation and character by encouraging punctuality, confidence, respect, responsibility, and positive classroom participation. In addition, warm communication, active listening, and emotional support strengthened teacher–student relationships and created emotional closeness. This emotional bond contributed to the formation of the longed-for teacher, namely a teacher who is respected, remembered, and missed because their presence provides comfort, guidance, motivation, and moral inspiration. The study concludes that teacher exemplary behavior is a fundamental foundation of character learning and should be strengthened through reflective teaching practices, empathetic communication, and a supportive school culture.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and effectiveness of the Model of Strengthening Religious Character for Grade I students at MIS Muhammadiyah Darussalam Waioti, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara. Designed to embed religious values into daily educational activities, the model aims to promote students’ spiritual engagement and moral development. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study utilized classroom observations, interviews with teachers, parents, and students, as well as focus group discussions. Community involvement, particularly the participation of local religious leaders, further reinforced the integration of religious teachings. Findings reveal that the model significantly enhanced students’ engagement in religious practices, such as prayer and Qur’an recitation, and positively influenced behavior by fostering discipline, respect, and social harmony. However, challenges were identified in areas related to emotional regulation and conflict resolution, where some students struggled to align their responses with religious principles. To address these gaps, the study recommends integrating emotional intelligence and conflict management training into the curriculum. Overall, the model has proven effective in cultivating religious character and moral values at an early educational stage. Continued parental involvement, curriculum enrichment, and ongoing evaluation are suggested to sustain and improve its outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovation of integrative digital infographic media in Islamic Religious Education and Science learning at the senior high school level. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data consisted of primary and secondary data obtained from Islamic Religious Education teachers, Science teachers, and students involved in digital media–based learning activities at SMAN 1 Pacitan and SMAN 2 Pacitan. Data sources included informants, learning activities, and relevant documents. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used an interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the use of integrative digital infographic media improves instructional clarity, facilitates the integration of Islamic values with scientific concepts, and enhances students’ engagement and learning motivation. In addition, this media supports students in developing a holistic understanding of the relationship between Islamic teachings and scientific phenomena. Although challenges were identified, such as limited teacher technical skills and time constraints in media development, the implementation of this innovation remains feasible and effective, even in non-metropolitan school contexts. In conclusion, integrative digital infographic media represent a relevant and effective instructional innovation in supporting meaningful and contextual learning. The significance of this study lies in its contribution to the development of integrative learning theory and its practical implications for educators and policymakers in advancing digital-based instructional innovation in secondary education.
