The study's results found that the value of ukhuah Islamiyah was instilled to form students who always maintain unity and create harmonious relationships. Instilled noble moral values to shape students to become polite individuals, both in speech and in behaviour. In addition, it is customary to hold deliberations when facing problems, which is done to shape students into individuals who respect and respect the opinions of others, not feeling the most righteous themselves. As well as the habit of maintaining other people's privacy, this is to form students into individuals who do not like to interfere in private matters. Given that students live together in the dormitory. When these values are not instilled, they will disturb and damage the comfort of other students. This conclusion can become an idea for realizing good spirituality and can be a reference for overcoming social conflicts.

Abstract

This study describes the role of the Muhammadiyah diaspora in supporting global Islamic education and spreading progressive Islamic values. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach through literature studies, by collecting data from various literature, official documents, and online databases, which were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings show that the Muhammadiyah diaspora plays an active role in organizing formal, non-formal, and informal education that is adjusted to the social, cultural, and political situation of the community in the destination country. The da'wah strategy implemented includes academic, cultural, and digital approaches, so that the message of Islam that is moderate, inclusive, and contextual can be conveyed widely. On the other hand, they face challenges in the form of limited resources, differences of internal views, strict government policies against religious minority groups, and negative stigma against Islam in some countries. Nevertheless, the diaspora is able to maintain its identity by strengthening internal communication, fostering cadres in an ongoing manner, establishing cross-organizational cooperation, and adapting to local culture without ignoring the basic principles of Islam. This study concludes that the Muhammadiyah diaspora has succeeded in combining tradition and modernity in its role as an agent of spreading progressive Islam, as well as opening up space for further research on the contribution of the next generation of the diaspora in the future.

Abstract

Commonly, practice of islamic education implementation is dichotomic. Muhammadiyah as a pioneer of modern islamic education in Indonesia in its implementation has tried to pair up science and Islam, both institutionally and scienctifically. Scientifically proven that school system in past was only taught science, whereas islamic boarding taught only Islam.Muhammadiyah through its education system offers the integration of science and Islam through religious education which is now popularly called al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan education. At PTMA there are also Islamic Studies which are carried out by FAI in almost every Muhammadiyah university. While institutionally generally Muhammadiyah universities provide mushalla or mosques to complement their school infrastructure, even in the organizational structure there are officials who are directly in charge of al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. It all is still not integrated as a whole that benefits both science and institutions. Science has not been integrated in the subject of the study of al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan, and viceversa.

Abstract

This research explores the historicity of Muhammadiyah, exploring the ideas of its founding, its historical context, and its impact on Indonesian society. Through a systematic literature review and thematic analysis, this research reveals the basic ideas articulated by Ahmad Dahlan, the founder of Muhammadiyah, by highlighting the theological principles of tajdid and ijtihad. The historical context section examines the emergence of this movement in the socio-political landscape of the early 20th century in Indonesia, emphasizing the impact of Dutch colonial rule and its relationship with global Islamic reformist movements. This research then assesses Muhammadiyah's impact on Indonesian society, including education, social welfare initiatives, and its broader influence in shaping modern Indonesian Islam. Thematic analysis of scientific works shows Muhammadiyah's role in providing holistic education, encouraging intellectual independence, and overcoming social challenges through social welfare programs. The influence of this movement in shaping progressive interpretations of Islam in cultural and societal discourse is also explored. The synthesis of findings underscores the interconnected nature of Muhammadiyah's basic ideas, historical context, and social impact. This movement emerged as a transformative force, dynamically responding to local and global challenges while remaining rooted in its basic principles. This research contributes to scholarly understanding of Islamic reform movements and provides insight into the complex interactions between theological ideals and societal transformation.

Abstract

The impression of the loss of manners and ethics in education today is a phenomenon in itself, including in education in Indonesia. Unpraised behaviour in the world of education above would undoubtedly not have happened if all parties prioritised manners, morals and adab. Noble character is one of the things that students must have in addition to the strength of religious spirituality. Religious spirituality has become a new label, style, and identity in educational studies. In Islamic civilisation, spirituality is more synonymous with the term Sufism. This article discusses Sufism as an approach to Islamic religious education which is focused on conventional and transformative Sufism and its implementation in Islamic education in schools. This article uses a literature approach without field research as well as the use of library sources in the form of books, journal articles and other documents that are considered relevant to the discussion. The analysis uses content analysis. From the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of Sufism in Islamic education can be implemented by approaching the relationship between religion and science which offers models of conflict, independence, dialogue and integration. Each of these models has its own consequences. Therefore, in implementing it, it is necessary to consider less harm. Although the implementation is definitely not as easy as imagined. Especially in modern times with the openness of information that can hinder the process of implementing Sufism in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inclusive curriculum in developing independent character in the aspects of aqidah, worship (ibadah), and noble character (akhlak mulia) for individuals with special needs. Children with special needs require a learning approach that is effectively integrated with the community. This integration is crucial not only for their ability to interact with their surroundings but also for acquiring essential life skills and reaching their optimal potential. The study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings reveal that the inclusive curriculum at SPS Permata Probolinggo emphasizes the development of independent character in students with special needs through the application of Islamic values, including aqidah, ibadah, and akhlak mulia. The curriculum is designed based on national education laws and adapted to meet the needs of students, aiming to enhance their cognitive, socio-emotional abilities, and life skills. Learning is conducted using a "one-to-one" method, which is gradually transitioned into a classroom setting to train students in socialization and collaboration skills.
