Abstract

Generation Z is the dominant demographic group in Indonesia and is widely known as digital natives, having grown up in the era of digital communication. Their communication patterns tend to prioritize efficiency and are largely visual based; however, this can negatively impact the quality of direct, face-to-face family interactions. A lack of in-person communication increases the risk of excessive internet use and contributes to mental health issues. Effective family communication plays a crucial role in supporting adolescents’ psychological well-being, and one of the key contributing factors is family resilience. Family resilience encompasses belief systems, organizational processes, and communication processes within the family. This study aims to examine the influence of family resilience on family communication among Generation Z in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using convenience sampling, involving 210 participants. The instruments used were the Family Communication Scale (FCS) and the Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire (WFRQ). The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between family resilience and family communication (R² = 0.84). These findings suggest that stronger family resilience contributes to better family communication quality and may help reduce family conflicts and the negative impacts of excessive technology use.

Abstract

Improving the quality of primary education in under-resourced areas such as Ciherang Village, West Java, remains challenging due to limited facilities, guidance, and access to structured psychological assessments. This community engagement program aimed to help students at SD Ciherang recognize their cognitive abilities, interests, and personality traits through a systematic assessment. A total of 53 sixth-grade students participated in three instruments: Raven’s Colored Progressive Matrices (CPM) for cognitive ability, SDS Holland for career interests, and the Big Five Inventory (BFI) for personality traits. The program was implemented using a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach that actively involved teachers and Thematic Community Service (KKNT) students. The results showed that most students had good to very good cognitive abilities. Their dominant interests were Artistic and Social, indicating a strong preference for creativity and social interaction. Personality profiles were primarily characterized by Agreeableness and Extraversion, reflecting cooperative, empathetic, and sociable tendencies. These findings highlight the need for extracurricular programs focusing on arts, social engagement, and leadership, as well as structured activities to develop discipline and self-management skills. This initiative provides tangible contributions in the form of tailored recommendations for extracurricular development based on students’ profiles and offers psychological data as a foundation for school policy planning. The approach is expected to enhance educational services and support the optimal development of students’ potential.ABSTRAKPeningkatan kualitas pendidikan dasar di daerah terbatas seperti Desa Ciherang, Jawa Barat, sering terhambat keterbatasan fasilitas, bimbingan, dan asesmen psikologis yang memadai. Abstract

Generation Z had just entered the workforce at a productive age. However, statistical data reveal that Generation Z is largely unemployed and is considered to have a lot of consideration of job selection due to the large amount of information spread and cultural changes, which makes Generation Z choose to quit work rather than carry out work that is not in accordance with their internal principles. A high quit rate is related to workers' work engagement. Early research has revealed that Generation Z has a low level of work engagement. The work engagement factor, psychological safety, is the belief that a safe work environment to be able to voice questions or suggestions without fear of negative consequences is also needed by Generation Z in their work. This study examined the relationship between psychological safety and work engagement experienced by Generation Z employees. Using a correlational quantitative method with convenience sampling technique, the participants were 210 Generation Z employees who worked in Jabodetabek at the age of 20–28 years, had at least high school/vocational school education, and had a minimum work experience of one year. Using measuring instruments Adaptation of the Psychological Safety Inventory (PSI) scale and the Utrecht Work and Well-Being Survey (UWES). The Spearman rank correlation test was used for data analysis. The results showed a positive relationship between psychological safety and work engagement among Generation Z employees in Jabodetabek (r = 0.504 and p < 0.05).

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right for all citizens, as outlined in the 1945 constitution. However, the equitable distribution of educational opportunities in Indonesia remains a significant challenge, particularly in regions such as East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. This study aims to elucidate the subjective psychological well-being of educators at SMK X Sumba. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, leveraging a nonprobability sampling method through a convenience sampling technique. The subjective well-being of educators was measured using the Scale of Positive Affect and Negative Affect (SPANE) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The results showed that educators’ subjective well-being was classified as good, with 73.9% in the moderate category and 26.1% in the high category. Positive affection had a high level (95.7 %), while negative affection tended to be low (82.6 %). In terms of cognition, life satisfaction shows 87% of the respondents were in the high category, which reflects that educators at SMK X Sumba have positive feelings and high life satisfaction, although there is room for improvement. This suggests that educators should develop psychological wellbeing-based programs to support teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Equitable and quality education is the main foundation in shaping a young generation that is ready to face future changes and challenges. However, before children are directed towards a particular educational or career path, it is important for them to first recognize themselves—including their strengths, interests, and character. Based on this idea, the Faculty of Psychology at Tarumanagara University, together with KKN students, conducted psychological assessments for sixth-grade students at SDN Caringin Nunggal and SDN Maleber on February 27, 2025. This activity was attended by 36 students using three instruments, namely Colored Progressive Matrices (CPM) to assess cognitive abilities, Self-Directed Search (SDS) Holland to explore career interests, and ENS_48 to map personalities. The assessment results showed that nearly half of the students had excellent cognitive abilities. In terms of interests, many students showed a tendency toward social, artistic, and investigative fields, which emphasize interaction, creativity, and curiosity. Meanwhile, the prominent personality traits were warmth and openness, as reflected in high scores on the agreeableness and openness dimensions. These results are expected to serve as a starting point for students to understand themselves more deeply. With the support of teachers and parents, this assessment plays an important role as a guide in designing educational steps and futures in line with the potential of each child.

Abstract

This paper examines how national institutional environments shape the behavior of multinational corporations, with a focus on McDonald’s operations in Indonesia. Using Institutional Theory as the primary analytical framework, the study examines how international businesses react to various institutional pressures, including formal regulations, religious mandates, and informal cultural expectations. Through a qualitative case study approach, the research finds that McDonald's modified its operations to adhere to domestic sourcing regulations, fulfill halal certification standards, and accommodate regional dietary preferences and social norms. These adaptations reflect broader processes of institutional negotiation and legitimacy-building that go beyond market strategy. This research contributes to the literature on institutional theory and public governance by illustrating how deeply embedded regulatory and normative systems in emerging economies shape the strategic and operational choices of multinational firms. The findings offer actionable insight for policymakers aiming to guide foreign business conduct through institutional design, and for companies seeking legitimacy and stability in governance-intensive settings. By showing how public policy instruments and societal expectations interact to form a dynamic institutional environment, the study demonstrates how governments in emerging economies can steer globalization in ways that reinforce national values and development priorities
