Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the family in training the application of Pancasila values in early childhood. The researchers used a literature review method to determine the role played by families in training young children to apply Pancasila valuesin everyday life. This research used Google Scholar and Scopus databases to search for relevant articles and conduct a more in-depth analysis. The research stage began with identifying previously determined keywords, screening by reading the abstract and research results and finding relevant articles to study. In analysis, the researcher conducted an analysis based on the context of the study of the selected articles until new themes emerged, which became the focus of the research. The theme was the role of family education in training Pancasila values from an early age. The results of the research showed that efforts to practice Pancasila values could be made by practising belief in God the Almighty, worshipping, respecting each other, praying, taking advantage of God's blessings, respecting older people, loving the environment, working together, respecting opinions, and being fair.

Abstract

Parents play a pivotal role in their children's learning success, especially during home-based learning activities. As the primary figures in their children's lives, parents take on the role of co-learners, contributing significantly to the learning journey. The aim of this study is to identify the involvement of parents in supporting the learning of their children or elementary school student while at home. The research utilizes a descriptive method within a qualitative research design. The subjects of this study consist of five parents either fathers or mothers of elementary school students. Data collection is conducted through semi-structured interviews. The data analysis employs an interactive qualitative data analysis approach, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The research findings reveal that parents actively engage in tutoring, motivating, facilitating and assessing their children's learning activities. In conclusion, tutor, motivator, facilitator and assessor are the roles that reflects the diverse ways parents contribute to their children's success in learning settings at home.

Abstract

Pemberian contoh dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah sesuatu hal yang wajar dilakukan oleh guru di dalam kelas, tetapi yang menjadi perhatian menarik adalah bagaimana persepsi guru yang mengunakan contoh dalam pembelajaran matematika ditengah semangat kontruksivisme yang dituntut dalam kurikulum 2013 di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan pertimbangan apa saja yang digunakan guru dalam pemilihan contoh dan kendala apa yang dialami guru ketika memilih contoh tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Data kemudian dianalisis untuk menentukan tema dan melihat keterkaitan antar tema. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 22 guru yang menggunakan contoh soal dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) pemberian contoh soal penting dikarenakan dapat memfasilitasi guru untuk menanamkan konsep untuk materi baru dan mempertajam pemahaman konsep yang telah didapat peserta didik; (2) ada hubungan yang jelas antara Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) guru dan penggunaan contoh yang diberikan oleh guru kepada peserta didik; (3) kendala yang dialami guru dalam menentukan contoh soal yang baik yaitu menentukan contoh yang dapat memfasilitasi perbedaan kemampuan peserta didik antara peserta didik yang cerdas berbakat dan peserta didik yang slow learner dengan konteks serta prosedur yang sesuai dan bagaimana memprediksi kesalahan yang mungkin bisa dilakukan oleh peserta didik dalam pembelajaran di kelas. The use of example in learning mathematics at secondary level: teachers' perceptions AbstractGiving examples in mathematics teaching is something that is naturally done by the teacher in the classroom, but an interesting concern is the perception of the teacher who uses the example in mathematics teaching in the spirit of constructivism demanded in Curriculum 2013 in Indonesia. This research aims to identify what the teacher uses in selecting examples and what obstacles the teacher experiences when choosing the example. The research method used is the case study qualitative research method. The data were analyzed to determine the themes and to see the interrelationships among the themes. The subjects of this study are 22 teachers who used examples of questions in teaching in class. The results of the study show that: (1) giving examples is important because it can facilitate teachers to instill concepts for new materials and to sharpen the students' understanding of concepts that they have obtained; (2) there is a clear relationship between teacher pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) and the use of examples provided by teachers to students; and (3) the constraints experienced by the teacher in determining the example of a good problem are determining the example that can facilitate gifted intelligent students and slow learner students with appropriate contexts and procedures and how to predict possible mistakes students can make in learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Parenting programs have been shown to improve children's behavior. Therefore, the implementation of parenting programs in schools needs to be revealed as a reference for schools to more easily implement them in the school environment. This research uses an ethnographic approach. A sample of one school in Bandar Lampung City was determined using purposive sampling techniques with the criteria that the school had implemented a parenting program. Research data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. Data analysis is carried out using thematic analysis, which includes seven phases. Triangulation techniques are used as data validity tests. The findings of this study show that the parenting program was implemented through seminars, teacher-parent collaboration through contact books, guest teachers by parents, sharing short videos through social media, and the presence of BK teachers at school. Thus, it can be concluded that the parenting program is getting optimal by realizing collaborative activities between schools and parents in student learning activities.Keywords: Parenting, elementary school

Abstract

The research aims to analyze influencing factors and role of parents in shaping mental health in generation Z era. The method used descriptive research with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and literature study. The data analysis technique used in this research is processing observation data, interviews and literature studies into accurate research data.The research sample was eight fourth grade students at Pungangan 1 public primary school, Mojotengah District, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java. The results of research state that there are three factors influence children's mental health, including; 1) parenting style, 2) interaction between children and parents, 3) parents' understanding of children's mental health in generation Z era. Apart from that, role of parents in maintaining mental health is proven through eight actions; 1) respect, 2) listen, 3) build children's trust, 4) create a positive environment, 5) help children solve problems, 6) set realistic goals, 7) avoid sarcastic comments, and 8) provide encouragement. Based on research results, it was concluded that parents choose a parenting style that suits child's characteristics and plays a role in maintaining child's mental health.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the problems of single-parent parenting in religious moral education for children in the family. To achieve this goal, researchers used field research methods (field research) which are qualitative. The research was conducted in May 2021 at Uteun Geulilnggang Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency. Data collection techniques used are through interviews, observation, and documentation. To test the validity of this research data, the researcher used triangulation. While the analysis of research data includes: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results obtained from the study concluded that there were two problems in parenting faced by single parents, namely the first socio-economic problems in the form of problems affecting children's religious moral education and the second problems of children's religious moral education in the family itself. Socio-economic problems include aspects of providing a living, caring for children, and paying attention to child psychology. In this socio-economic problem, the majority of single parents only fulfill one aspect. The results of the study suggest that being a single parent is not an obstacle in parenting, good single parents are single parents who can provide balanced time, income, and attention for children.

Abstract

Kehadiran mata pelajaran IPAS pada kurikulum merdeka memberikan tantangan bagi siswa untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan alam dan sosial secara bersamaan. Maka melalui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery inkuiri diharapkan dapat mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar pada pembelajaran IPAS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery inkuiri. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori sangat kritis dengan persentase tertinggi 90%, kategori kritis persentase tertinggi 80%, dan kategori kurang kritis persentase terendah 60%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatkan berpikir kritis dapat diraih melalui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery inkuiri.

Abstract

The emphasis on the development of Social-Emotional Competence (SEC) in Elementary Schools has increased during the independence curriculum policy. Still, this emphasis also requires teachers to understand learning strategies and the complex nature of students' social-emotional development. This study explores how schools that implement Social-Emotional Competence (SEC) learning affect students' social-emotional intelligence. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to provide conclusions. This study examines the various strategies implemented in this school, including the curriculum, teaching methods, and teacher challenges in implementing SEC Learning. The results of the study indicate that the systematic integration of Social-Emotional Competence (SEC) learning into the Elementary School curriculum significantly positively affects students' social-emotional and academic development.

Abstract

Implementation of Rumah Asa's TBM (Taman Bacaan Masyarakat) Program is an effort to encourage creative education based on entrepreneurship and local wisdom in Karangkajen Village, Brontokusuman, Yogyakarta City. Through innovative and creative approaches, this program aims to provide wider access to education for the community. The Rumah Asa TBM program combines education and local wisdom as the main foundation. In this program, education focuses on academic aspects and developing creative and entrepreneurial skills that can help students develop their potential holistically. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method using an in-depth and comprehensive sustainable development perspective (sustainable development). The research instruments used for data collection were field observations, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, starting from data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that by combining approaches to creative education, entrepreneurship, and local wisdom, the Rumah Asa TBM program has the potential to provide sustainable benefits for students and the surrounding community, including (1) Increasing access to experience-based learning: (2) Creative education for deeper understanding and creative problem solving; (3) Skill-based entrepreneurial empowerment; (4) Utilization of local wisdom as a source of knowledge; (5) Literacy-based sustainable community development.

Abstract

It is important for prospective elementary school teachers to know their epistemic beliefs because this is related to beliefs about how to teach in schools and how learning should be done, which are called pedagogical beliefs. This study aims to investigate whether epistemic beliefs can predict the pedagogical beliefs of prospective elementary school students. This research method used a quantitative method with 179 elementary school teacher education students as research subjects. The data obtained were analyzed using a linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that students' epistemic beliefs can predict students' pedagogical beliefs, especially in terms of social studies learning concepts in elementary schools.
