Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the development process and validate the research instruments and learning materials employed in a study investigating the enhancement of creative thinking skills in pre-service physics teachers through a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with e-modules. The validated components include a creative thinking test instrument (measuring fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality), a PjBL creative process assessment instrument, a creative product assessment rubric (for videos, websites, games, and posters), and the design of the e-module and its supporting media. The validation process was conducted by three expert validators who evaluated aspects of content, construct, language, and technicality. Validation results revealed overwhelmingly positive assessments, with average scores for all instruments and materials falling into the 'very good' category (ranging from 4.33 to 5.00 on a 5-point scale). Specifically, the creative thinking test instrument was highly rated for its alignment with creativity indicators; the creative process assessment sheet was deemed detailed and systematic; the creative product rubric achieved perfect scores for objective evaluation; and the e-module was judged highly engaging and effective in facilitating self-regulated learning integrated with PjBL syntax. These findings affirm that the developed instruments and learning materials possess high validity and are ready for accurate and comprehensive measurement and facilitation of creative thinking skills in pre-service physics teachers.

Abstract

The low level of students' physics concept understanding is often caused by conventional learning processes and the lack of varied representational media. This study aims to investigate the effect of the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model with a multimodal approach on students' physics concept understanding. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population comprised all Grade 11 students at MA Nurul Iman, with samples selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected using a physics concept understanding test instrument consisting of multiple-choice items. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, involving prerequisite tests followed by an Independent Sample T-test. The results indicated that the mean posttest score of the experimental class (84.29) was significantly higher than that of the control class (75.75). Hypothesis testing revealed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.018 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of Ha. Consequently, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model with a multimodal approach has a significant effect on improving students' physics concept understanding. The integration of various representational modes effectively helps students visualize abstract concepts and strengthens cognitive construction through peer tutoring interactions.

Abstract

The rapid development of material physics research, particularly in the synthesis and characterization of barium M-hexaferrite (BaFe₁₂O₁₉), has not been optimally integrated into higher education physics learning. At the same time, Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and digital e-modules have been widely reported to enhance students’ creativity, yet their application remains largely limited to basic physics topics. This study aims to map and synthesize existing research related to PjBL-based e-modules, student creativity, and BaM hexaferrite material studies, in order to identify research trends, gaps, and opportunities for interdisciplinary integration. A Hybrid Review methodology was employed, combining a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA 2020 and a Bibliometric Review. Literature published between 2018 and 2026 was collected from Scopus and SINTA databases. A total of 38 eligible articles were included for qualitative synthesis and bibliometric mapping. The SLR examined research focus, methodologies, learning outcomes, and material synthesis approaches, while the bibliometric analysis explored publication trends, keyword co-occurrence, collaboration networks, and thematic structures. The results indicate that PjBL-based e-modules are consistently effective in fostering creativity and higher-order thinking skills. However, bibliometric evidence reveals a clear separation between physics education research and BaM hexaferrite material studies, with minimal thematic overlap. This finding highlights a significant research gap and underscores the novelty of integrating BaM hexaferrite synthesis and characterization into a PjBL-oriented e-module. The study provides a strong conceptual foundation for developing research-based digital learning materials that promote authentic scientific creativity in higher education physics.

Abstract

Creativity is a crucial aspect of physics learning that is often overlooked due to the dominance of conventional learning methods. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model with a multimodal approach on the creativity of grade XI students at MA Nurul Iman. This research is a quasi-experiment using a non-equivalent control group design. The research instrument consisted of a creativity test in the form of four complex essay items that were declared valid (rxy>0,443) and reliable (r11>0.443). The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (78) was higher than the control class (65.05). The Independent Sample T-test results obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Jigsaw model with a multimodal approach has a significant effect on students' creativity. The synergy between individual responsibility in groups and the diversity of representation modes effectively stimulates indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration.
