Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to analize learning outcomes of student through Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) on dynamic fluid in high school at SMA Islam Al Azhar 10 Pontianak. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This study involved 22 students of class XI SMA Islam Al Azhar 10 Pontianak who were taught by a physics teacher who was accustomed to following online Lesson Study. Learning activities were recorded in audio and video, then the recorded data was transcripted in verbal form and analyzed. The results of the transcript analysis are important data to determine the interactions that occur in learning towards student learning outcomes. The results showed that classically, there was a decrease in learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2, namely the percentage of learning outcomes in cycle 1 was 57,6% and the percentage in cycle 2 was 30,3%. Based on the learning transcript the decline in learning outcomes occurs due to several factors, including a lack of motivation in cycle 2 which causes low student attention and curiosity and learning tends to be boring. Judging from the cognitive abilities of students on the learning outcomes test in cycle 1, the highest average percentage achievement was the cognitive ability to predict (C5) of 90,9%. While the lowest average percentage in cycle 1 is the cognitive ability to analyze (C4) of 36,4%. In cycle 2, the highest average percentage achievement is the cognitive ability to understand (C2) of 45,4%. While the lowest average percentage in cycle 2 is the cognitive ability to apply (C3) of 18,2%. This research is expected to be a guideline and reference in developing learning strategies in physics problems to improve student leatning outcomes.Keyword: Learning Outcomes, Lesson Study, Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA)

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to improve students learning outcomes, through the application of the Direct Instruction model to the heat and displacement material. The design of this study was in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design which involved 32 students at SMPN 1 Sungai Raya. Data collection includes tests of students learning outcomes in the form of pretest and posttest consisting of 5 multiple choice questions and 3 essay questions. The average achievement results were 30.62 and 79.68 posttest. Wilcoxon test results show that there are significant differences in students learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Direct Instruction model in the teaching and learning process and the effect size of this research model is 4.60 with a high category, it can be concluded that the application of the Direct Instruction model can improve students learning outcomes students on the heat and displacement material. Suggestions, that the Direct Instruction learning model requires a longer time for certain materials, therefore it is recommended for future researchers that before applying the Direct Instruction learning model to other materials, first set the time so that the material to be delivered can be given according to the time limit available. Keywords: Direct Instruction, Heat and displacement, Learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to assess the effectiveness of learning difficulties using the experiential learning model to remediate the number of students that have misconception and errors in completing problems on work at SMAN 3 Pontianak. The method used in this research was a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test design. Samples of study were intact group and selected based on physics teacher’s recommendation. The research instruments included 10 questions of diagnostic test and 6 questions of essay test. The percentage number of students with misconceptions of each indicator and student was reduced to 56.19% and 35.87%. Based on the results of the McNemar test, overall students experienced significant conceptual changes with a value of χ2 count (84.27)> χ2 table (3.84), df = 1 and α = 5%. The percentage decreased by 59,78% in the number of errors in completing problems for each student. Based on the results of the Normality test and Wilcoxon test, overall students experienced differences or decreased errors in completing problems with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 so that Ho was rejected. The effectiveness for both experiental learning model to remediate the number of student’s misconception on work through DQM of 56.20% and the effectiveness to reduce the errors of students in completing problems through a decrease proportion was 0.53 which are included to medium category. Therefore, this research is suggested to be use as an alternative learning activity to reduce the number of students that have learning difficulties on work.Keyword: Experiential Learning, Learning Difficulties, Misconception, Remediation, Work.

Abstract

This research aims to create a problem-solving e-module supplemented by a flipbook, for physics education targeting junior high school students. This study employed the research and development (R&D) method utilizing the ADDIE model, encompassing the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research methodologies encompassed observation, interviews, questionnaires, and pre-tests and post-tests. This research employed a data analysis technique that incorporates quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, utilizing the Aiken V index for data evaluation. The findings of this study demonstrated that the created e-module possesses a high feasibility level, evidenced by an average validation score of 0.83, classified as very valid. The deployment of the e-module among 28 seventh-grade students in class VII C at SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak yielded an effect size of 3.02, categorizing it as very effective, while the assessment of students' problem-solving abilities revealed an average N-Gain value of 0.53, indicating a modest level of improvement. The teacher's reaction rate was 97%, while the pupils' response rate during the field trial was 86%, both classified as exceptionally high. The results demonstrate that the problem-solving-based e-module, supplemented by a flipbook, is an excellent physics learning medium for enhancing problem-solving skills related to the theme of matter and its transformations.
