Abstract

This research aims to produce the Testlets' model instrument test that measures the problem-solving abilities of high school students in West Kalimantan on motion topics. The study employed A.D.D.I.E.'s development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Three hundred four students from three different cities in West Kalimantan were involved as respondents in this study. The researchers collected data through test techniques and documentation since this study focused on the characteristics of the test. The instrument test of problem-solving abilities is designed to follow Heller's solution stages, namely focusing on the problem, describing physics, planning a solution, implementing the plan, and evaluating the answer. The results of this study are the availability of 20 multiple-choice questions, with five main questions and four testlets. The assessment instrument developed had the characteristics of validity up to 0.90 (high), reliability through Cronbach's Alpha Reliability analysis: 0.83 (very good), person reliability: 0,84 (high) and item reliability: 0.98 (excellent). The test developed is theoretically and practically feasible so that high school physics teachers can use it to measure students' problem-solving abilities more quickly because it uses a multiple-choice test.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in students' learning outcomes on Newton's Laws material at SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kubu Raya, through differentiated learning using the discovery learning model. The research design employed is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of Class XI Physics 1 and Class XI Physics 2, each with 31 students, selected using the intact group random sampling technique. The instrument used was a test. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques. In the pretest, the experimental class obtained a score of 25.16, and the control class 15.48, both falling  in the low category. After the treatment, the experimental class's posttest score increased to 84.83 (high category), while the control class reached 50 (medium category). Based on Cohen’s d effect size value, the effectiveness of implementing differentiated learning with the discovery learning model in improving learning outcomes was 2.042, which falls into the high category. In addition, based on a learning style questionnaire, 20 students preferred the auditory learning style. This study concludes that the implementation of differentiated learning using the discovery learning model is effective in improving students' learning outcomes on Newton’s Laws material.

Abstract

Physics learning at the junior secondary school level on the topics of Uniform Linear Motion and Uniformly Accelerated Linear Motion often shows low conceptual understanding due to limited use of contextual and visual instructional media. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) instructional videos in improving students’ conceptual understanding. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model and adopted a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest involving 36 students as trial subjects. The instruments included expert validation sheets, conceptual understanding tests, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired-sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the instructional video product was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation and student responses (89.7%). The students’ mean scores increased from 57.97 to 69.44, with a reduction in variance and standard deviation, indicating a more even distribution of conceptual understanding. The normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed, and the paired-sample t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The N-Gain value of 0.27 was in the low–moderate category, indicating initial effectiveness. Therefore, the developed PBL instructional videos indicate initial effectiveness in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and can be considered a feasible instructional innovation for junior secondary school physics learning. Abstract

This article examines the development of teaching materials in modern learning by drawing on key learning theories. Rapid advances in information and communication technology have shifted learning needs, requiring materials that are adaptive to contemporary students’ characteristics. Using a literature review method, the study analyzes how Constructivism, Behaviorism, and Cognitivism serve as theoretical foundations for designing effective technology-enhanced teaching materials. The findings highlight that strategically integrating these theories not only strengthens student engagement but also improves learning outcomes. This article contributes a clearer framework for applying learning theories in the development of digital teaching materials and offers concrete examples of classroom implementations that enhance interaction and motivation. The study provides practical insights for educators and developers seeking to design relevant and theory-driven materials in an increasingly dynamic digital learning environment.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence in English language teaching faces implementation challenges despite documented benefits, particularly in resource-limited Indonesian contexts where teachers' digital competence significantly influences adoption. This community service program addressed these gaps through comprehensive technology integration training focused on Google AI Studio for pronunciation instruction at SMPN 1 Jongkat, Mempawah Regency. The program employed a participatory approach combining needs analysis, hands-on training, collaborative workshops, and systematic evaluation involving 19 teachers. Post-training surveys using 5-point Likert scales assessed confidence levels across multiple dimensions of AI-assisted pronunciation instruction. Results demonstrated consistently high confidence levels across most dimensions, with means ranging from 4.26 to 4.74, particularly in using AI-generated speech for listening input and designing speaking activities. However, teachers showed notably lower confidence in self-assessment applications, revealing hesitation in comparing their own pronunciation with AI-generated models. The majority of participants prioritized ease of material development as the primary advantage. Analysis through the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge framework indicated successful development of integrated technical and pedagogical competence, though limited articulation of specific implementation strategies suggests need for ongoing professional support. The training successfully established foundational confidence for AI integration while identifying areas requiring continued development to ensure sustainable implementation.
