Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of counseling therapy on the level of depression in patients at the Mekarsari Community Health Center as measured by the MINI Form (Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview). This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research conducted using patient data based on MINI results, with a sample of 43 for the intervention group and 37 patients for the control group. The research results show that there is strong evidence showing the effectiveness of counseling therapy in reducing levels of depression. Based on research results, patients who were given counseling therapy experienced a decrease in depression levels, while the control group who were not given counseling experienced an increase in depression levels in patients in the Mekar Sari Health Center working area. The conclusion is that counseling therapy using MINI is effective in reducing the level of depression in respondents, as can be seen from the significant reduction in MINI scores after the intervention. Test results in the control group also showed a significant impact. These findings confirm the positive contribution of counseling therapy in overcoming depression, with statistical effects in both groups. Keywords: Counseling Therapy, SRQ, MINI.

Abstract

The implementation of medical records in hospitals can support the improvement of service quality through a fast and accurate documentation, so that the information produced is more effective and efficient. At Airlangga University Hospital, one of indicators of service that hadn’t been achieved was incompleteness of filling and returning medical record that exceeded 2x24 hours after service. The aim of the study was to analyze the implementation of filling and returning medical record for inpatients at Airlangga University Hospital. The research design was qualitative, using in-depth interview techniques with 30 main informants from doctors and nurses and 5 triangulation informants from assembling monitoring and medical record distribution officers. The results of the study illustrated that the implementation of filling and returning medical record was still lacking. In the input component, the doctor's activity and the number of items in the medical record caused incomplete filling. There was no reward and punishment policy from the hospital. In the process component, the incomplete medical records were found and the return of medical record wasn’t timely. In the output component, the most unfilled medical record forms were 58% informed consent and 33% doctor's signature. It was recommended that the hospital hold workshop about medical records and make policies related to reward and punishment.

Abstract

Background: Acute pain is a sensory or emotional experience associated with actual or functional tissue damage, with a sudden or slow onset and of mild to severe intensity lasting less than 3 months. Surgical procedures can cause acute pain. The main outcome of nursing interventions related to acute pain is a decrease in the level of pain. One of the non-pharmacologic nursing therapeutic interventions that can reduce pain levels and increase comfort is hypnosis therapy. Purpose: To determine the effect of hypnotherapy on pain scale in postoperative patients. Methods: Scientific articles in English and full texts published in 2002-2020 were identified and then analyzed by PI(E)O (problem; intervention; exposure; comparison; outcome). A total of 3404 articles from the PubMed, Wiley, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases were identified using the keywords "hypnotherapy" OR "pain". Results: The results of the study found articles that discussed the effect of hypnotherapy on the pain scale. Conclusion: Patients who are given hypnosis will feel relaxed and make their subconscious active so that they can easily accept suggestions and can ignore other stimuli, including pain stimuli. Further research should also be carried out in patients who experience chronic pain.

Abstract

The emergence of new regulations regarding the mandatory ownership of new Peritoneal Dialysis Units (PD Units) in regional hospitals in Indonesia creates new problems for PD patients after undergoing therapy. They need treatment by CAPD professionals who are still on the move. This study aims to discuss how far the community nurses are involved in the management of patient care in the PD unit so that an overview of their duties and functions is obtained in handling PD patients in the CAPD unit under management nursing. This document review used PRISMA analysis. Data were taken from Google Engine, with keywords: Peritoneal Dialysis, community nursing, and public health. Select documents from reputable journals for the last five years. The documents that were filtered (n=14) all met the search criteria for documents according to keywords. There were only two documents (n = 2) that raise the issue of community nurses and their role specifically in PD units in the community. The most discussed role was training (n=5). The challenges were bureaucracy or government regulations. This study recommended that community nurses could be empowered to care for PD patients after getting short CAPD training.
