Abstract

Degenerative diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hypercholesterolemia are major global health concerns with high prevalence in Indonesia, including in Kampung Biru, Banjarmasin. This community service initiative aimed to enhance public knowledge about the prevention and management of degenerative diseases, while also providing medication information through the Drug Information Service (DIS). The program involved 58 participants who underwent health screenings (blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid levels), disease-specific group education, and DIS sessions conducted by pharmacists. Results showed a 60.34% improvement in participants' knowledge, with a 98.27% satisfaction rate. Data analysis revealed a higher prevalence of these diseases among the elderly (aged 45 years and above), aligning with national epidemiological trends. The program demonstrated the effectiveness of a collaborative approach involving academics, healthcare professionals, and the community in promoting health literacy and preventive care.

Abstract

Salah satu tantangan utama dalam pembelajaran adalah pemilihan materi ajar yang tepat agar siswa mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan. Kurikulum hanya mencantumkan materi pokok secara garis besar, sehingga guru bertanggung jawab menyusun bahan ajar yang lebih lengkap dan terstruktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi kelayakan modul biologi SMA berbasis potensi lokal keanekaragaman Phanerogamae di Laboratorium Pertanian Terpadu Jagan, Sukoharjo, bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Pengembangan modul menggunakan metode R&D mengikuti model Borg & Gall yang telah disesuaikan menjadi tujuh tahapan: riset awal, perencanaan, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba, revisi, uji lapangan terbatas, dan revisi akhir. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari Januari hingga Maret 2025. Hasil validasi untuk uji kelayakan dari ahli materi sebesar 94,48%, ahli modul 93,98%, dan uji validasi kepraktisan dari guru sebesar 89,76%. Uji validasi kepraktisan pada guru merupakan  tahap validasi kepraktisan awal untuk memastikan modul telah sesuai secara substansi dan pedagogis sebelum diimplementasikan lebih luas pada peserta didik dalam penelitian tahap berikutnya. Dengan demikian, secara keseluruhan modul dinyatakan sangat layak untuk digunakan. Modul Phanerogamae yang telah layak diharapkan dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA untuk mendorong kemandirian siswa dan memperkuat pemahaman ekologi.

Abstract

Malnutrition in toddlers is one of the public health issues that remains a serious concern, especially in developing countries, including Indonesia. Based on data obtained from the Lubuk Buaya Community Health Center during the last three months, from July to August 2025, it is known that malnutrition in toddlers is still high. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of malnutrition in toddlers. The research design used in this study was cross-sectional. The research was conducted in the Lubuk Buaya Community Health Center working area. The research was conducted in November 2025. The research population consisted of mothers who had toddlers in the Lubuk Buaya Community Health Center working area. The sample consisted of 70 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed a relationship between mothers' knowledge (p value: 0.046) and dietary patterns (p value: 0.000) and malnutrition in toddlers. It is recommended that health centers, through health workers and posyandu cadres, make greater efforts to improve educational activities that can increase mothers' knowledge about the importance of providing good nutrition to their toddlers. Keywords: Toddlers, Mother's Knowledge, Diet.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the early childhood education management strategies aimed at improving the quality of student learning. The basic problem stems from the challenges in managing early childhood education, particularly in terms of limited human resources, curriculum adaptation, and the need for strengthening learning quality that focuses on children's character and interests. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, documentation, and interviews with the principal, educators, and educational staff. The data analysis is conducted through triangulation, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, along with data validation tests. The findings reveal that the educational management strategy is carried out through planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision functions. The learning planning is detailed based on the Merdeka curriculum, taking into account the students' needs and characteristics. Organizing is done flexibly by distributing educator tasks in accordance with the needs and adapting to the limitations of human resources. The learning implementation focuses on character development, interest and talent enhancement, and child-centre play principles as the main focus of educational activities. Supervision is carried out by the principal with communicative supervision to conduct internal and cooperative monitoring. This management strategy has a positive impact on the improvement of learning quality, educator professionalism, and active student involvement. The study recommends strengthening human resource management through continuous training and further research on developing an adaptive and inclusive early childhood education management model.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology in the digital era requires Islamic Education teachers to demonstrate professionalism that extends beyond pedagogical competence and subject mastery, encompassing the effective use of learning technologies. This study investigates how student engagement in one Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is influenced by the professionalism of Islamic Education teachers in utilizing educational technology. Employing a causal-associative design with a quantitative methodology, thirty eleventh-grade students were randomly selected as participants. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics with simple linear regression. Findings reveal a positive correlation (R = 0.305) between teacher professionalism in technology-based learning and student engagement. However, the contribution of teacher professionalism was modest (R² = 0.093), and the t-test indicated non-significance (p = 0.101 > 0.05). These results suggest that student engagement is not significantly affected by teachers’ digital competence, although the integration of educational technology remains essential for fostering interactive and participatory learning environments.

Abstract

Pendidikan yang berkualitas merupakan salah satu kunci untuk menciptakan generasi penerus yang unggul. Dalam konteks ini, peran guru menjadi sangat penting. Artikel ini membahas bagaimana guru dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melalui berbagai pendekatan dan strategi. Dengan memanfaatkan teknologi, menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif, serta mengembangkan hubungan positif dengan siswa dan orang tua, guru dapat berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Selain itu, tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam menjalankan perannya juga diidentifikasi, serta solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut.

Abstract

Background: Utilization of legume plants rich in protein and highly favored by livestock is an effective approach to improving the quality of ruminant livestock feed. In this context, Butterfly Pea (Clitoria ternatea) is widely used as livestock feed due to the high protein content, organic matter digestibility, energy digestibility, and metabolizable energy of 21–29%, 69.7%, 66.6%, and 12.4 MJ/kg, respectively. During development, there are still obstacles posed by the low germination rate of Butterfly Pea seeds because of strong seed dormancy. Purpose: Therefore, this research aimed to examine the effects of soaking Butterfly Pea seeds in different concentrations of sulfuric acid solutions on germination percentage, rate, and hypocotyl length. Methods: A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with three treatments and five replications, namely P1 (15% sulfuric acid for 15 minutes), P2 (30% sulfuric acid for 15 minutes), and P3 (45% sulfuric acid for 15 minutes). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: The results showed that increasing sulfuric acid concentration influenced all measured parameters. Germination percentage increased from 25.60 ± 2.45% in P1 to 29.60 ± 2.99% in P2, reaching 28.80 ± 3.87% in P3. The highest germination rate was observed in P3 (5.10 ± 0.21%/day), with hypocotyl length also showing the highest value at 7.15 ± 0.41 cm. Conclusion: P3 at 45% concentration for 15 minutes was most effective in increasing germination and initial growth of Butterfly Pea seeds.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe the design, feasibility, and effectiveness of an upright writing big book media developed to enhance the writing skills of second-grade students. The big book presents narrative texts integrating local wisdom, specifically highlighting the Pagerwunung Nature Reserve, to foster both literacy and cultural appreciation. Methodology: Employing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Borg and Gall model, the study was conducted up to the eighth stage, focusing on feasibility and effectiveness testing due to time and cost constraints. The Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model was embedded into the media to strengthen collaborative reading and structured writing activities. Main Findings: The big book media design received a feasibility score of 90% from media experts and 93% from material experts, both categorized as “very feasible.” Effectiveness testing showed a significant improvement in students’ upright writing skills, supported by their increased engagement and comprehension of narrative structure. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research introduces a dual innovation: (1) integrating upright writing instruction with localized narrative content rooted in the Pagerwunung Nature Reserve, enabling students to visualize and contextualize learning through familiar cultural and environmental references; and (2) embedding the CIRC learning model into big book media, fostering cooperative literacy development while enhancing writing accuracy and fluency. By combining cultural literacy with technical writing skills, this approach not only supports academic achievement but also strengthens students’ sense of place and environmental stewardship, offering a replicable model for culturally responsive literacy instruction.

Abstract

Pembelajaran STEAM penting untuk mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21 pada anak usia dini, dan salah satu cara mendukungnya adalah dengan menggunakan media loose-parts yang terbuat dari bahan alami. Media ini mendorong eksplorasi, kreativitas, dan meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak melalui aktivitas yang melibatkan interaksi dan pemecahan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah utnuk mengetahui pengaruh dari metode pembelajaran STEAM menggunakan bahan loose-parts terhadap kemampuan berbahasa anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kuantitatif dengan Quasi Experimental Design. Subjek dari penelitian ini merupakan anak usia 5-6 tahun dari kelompok B TK berjumlah 54 anak yang akan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan Uji T berpasangan yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan nilai rata-rata (mean) kedua kelompok apakah terdapat pengaruh atau tidak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 atau kurang dari 0,005 (<0,005) sehingga data dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pembelajaran STEAM menggunakan bahan loose-parts terhadap kemampuan berbahasa anak usia 5-6 tahun.
