Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of pesantren in regenerating ulama through modernization, as well as the educational strategies and Islamic law applied in the historical, social, and political contexts. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research examines pesantren that adopt modernization in curriculum and management. The results showed that pesantren succeeded in modernizing education without sacrificing traditional values, producing ulama who are adaptive to the times. This study concludes that the regeneration of ulama through modernization of pesantren is very relevant to produce competent ulama in the global era, while still maintaining the authenticity of tradition. Further research is recommended to analyze the impact of modernization on the authority of the ulama and the effectiveness of the use of technology in pesantren education.

Abstract

Compensation in Islamic educational institutions is not only interpreted as a material reward, but must also be based on sharia values as a manifestation of the principles of justice, balance, and moral responsibility. This research aims to examine how the integration of sharia values in the compensation system can act as an effective strategy in increasing employee loyalty in Islamic educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and thematic analysis, the study found that a compensation system that adopts sharia principles such as justice (‘adl), maslahat, and amanah - is able to build employees’ emotional and spiritual attachment to the institution. Employee loyalty increases along with transparency, contribution-based rewards, and certainty and blessings in income. The findings emphasise the urgency of a holistic approach to human resource management based on Islamic values to create loyal, professional and dedicated employees.

Abstract

Education financing is an important aspect of sustainable human resource development. In Indonesia, there are two dominant education financing systems, namely the Islamic education system and the conventional education system. Each system has different financing principles and models, which affect the effectiveness and efficiency of the use of education funds. This research aims to examine the integration of sharia values in education financing benchmarking, and compare the strengths and weaknesses of each system. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach through a literature study, data was collected from academic journals, institutional reports, and education statistics. The research found that the Islamic education system has advantages in terms of social justice and sustainability, while the conventional system excels in aspects of technology management and variety of scholarship schemes. This research provides strategic recommendations for Islamic education institutions to adopt best practices from the conventional system without ignoring sharia principles.

Abstract

Artikel ini meneliti tentang mentoring poligami yang dilakukan oleh Kiai Hafidin. Mentoring poligami awalnya adalah kebutuhan sebagian masyarakat yang ingin berpoligami tetapi tidak cukup ilmunya melakukan poligami dan mereka mencari mentor poligami yang menurut mereka sukses berpoligami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui manifestasi tindakan sosial Max Weber yang dilakukan Kiai Hafidin terhadap mentoring poligami. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research) yang menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi hukum yaitu menggunakan teori tindakan sosial Max Weber. Sumber data primer berasal dari wawancara dan buku Kiai Hafidin yang berjudul 45 Hari Sukses Poligami. Hasil penelitian ini adalah tindakan sosial Kiai Hafidin dalam mentoring poligaminya sesuai dengan indikator tindakan sosial Max Weber yaitu a) Tindakan Tradisional, upaya untuk menjaga tradisi dan hukum Islam yaitu melaksanakan poligami dan mendoktrin masyarakat untuk tidak takut berpoligami; b) Tindakan Afektif, yaitu Kiai Hafidin merasa miris dan khawatir terhadap masyarakat sebab minimnya pengetahuan terhadap poligami dan merasa bangga sebab dapat membantu masyarakat menyelesaikan permasalahan rumah tangganya khususnya poligami; c) Tindakan Rasional Instrumental yaitu rela membayar iklan untuk mengkampanyekan mentoring poligami di media sosial; d) Tindakan Rasionalitas Nilai, meliputi nilai-nilai Agama dan moral seperti keberkahan poligami, nilai keadilan dalam poligami dan selain nilai Agama yaitu nilai ekonomi.

Abstract

Dalam sebuah hadis, Nabi Muhammad Saw pernah bergulat melawan seorang yang ahli Gulat, yaitu Rukanah bin Abd Yazid bin Hasyim bin Muthalib bin Abd Manaf bin Qurasy al-Muththalibi. Dengan demikian, antara Gulat modern dengan hadis tersebut secara zhahir tampak mirip, karena sama-sama dengan jelas menyebut Gulat dan merupakan olahraga fisik antara dua orang. Apakah hadis tersebut dapat dikorelasikan ke dalam Gulat modern? Adapun rumusan masalah yang penulis ajukan Dalam penelitian ini yaitu status dan pemahaman hadis tentang Gulat dan fenomena Gulat modern dalam perspektif hadis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (Library Research) dengan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan: Pertama, hadis riwayat Abu Dawud nomor 4078 dan riwayat at-Tirmidzi nomor 1784 berstatus dhaif. Hadis ini menjelaskan pertarungan Gulat antara Nabi Muhammad Saw dengan Rukanah dan beliau berhasil mengalahkan Rukanah. Kedua, antara hadis tentang Gulat Rasulullah Saw tersebut memiliki korelasi dengan Gulat modern, yaitu olahraga fisik yang menguji ketahanan, tidak menggunakan senjata, dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kekuatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesulitan belajar Bahasa Indonesia yang dialami siswa kelas IV UPT SD Negeri 1 Rappang. Penelitian ini menawarkan kebaruan melalui penggunaan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, dengan melibatkan 52 siswa kelas IV dan guru kelas sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar jenis slow learner, dengan karakteristik seperti lambat dalam memahami materi, kesulitan membaca dan menulis, serta membutuhkan waktu lebih lama untuk menyelesaikan tugas. Faktor internal, seperti motivasi rendah dan keterbatasan kemampuan kognitif, serta faktor eksternal, seperti penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional, berkontribusi terhadap kesulitan ini. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini mencakup pentingnya pengembangan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih individual dan inovatif untuk mendukung siswa slow learner. Guru disarankan untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang adaptif dan berpusat pada siswa, sementara orang tua diharapkan memberikan dukungan emosional dan stimulasi belajar di rumah. Pendekatan kolaboratif antara guru dan orang tua diperlukan untuk mengatasi hambatan belajar dan mendukung keberhasilan siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the dawn alms movement on improving the economic welfare of the community in Bantan Tengah Village, Bengkalis Regency. The dawn alms movement is a religious-based social activity that is routinely carried out by the community by setting aside some of their sustenance every morning after the dawn prayer. This study applies a quantitative approach through survey methods and data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the dawn alms movement has a significant effect on increasing the income and expenditure of the beneficiary community. In addition, this movement has also succeeded in increasing social solidarity and the spirit of mutual cooperation in the community. The factors for the success of this program include consistency of implementation, active community involvement, and transparent fund management although there are still some obstacles in the accountability of fund distribution. Thus, the dawn alms movement in Bantan Tengah Village is a form of economic empowerment based on Islamic values ​​and local wisdom that is worthy of continued development.

Abstract

Bullying in educational settings, including madrasah, is a global issue that has a significant impact on student development. Data shows that around 35% of madrasah students in Indonesia have experienced various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, psychological, and cyberbullying. Despite the existence of national regulations, such as Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 82 of 2015 on the Prevention and Handling of Acts of Violence in Educational Institutions, the implementation of bullying prevention measures in madrasah has not been fully effective. On the other hand, the strengthening of Islamic values such as rahmah, ‘adl, and ihsan often remains at the normative level without being practically integrated into educational policies. This study aims to analyse the transformative synergy between Islamic values and national education regulations in efforts to prevent and address bullying in madrasah. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-qualitative approach, through an analysis of primary sources (the Qur'an, Hadith, and national education regulations), secondary sources (scientific articles, books, and official reports), and tertiary sources (supporting documents and popular articles). The results of the study indicate that the integration of Islamic values with education regulations can produce comprehensive strategies that include: (1) moral development based on the Qur'an and Hadith, (2) anti-bullying policies based on national regulations, (3) teacher and counsellor training using an islah approach and digital literacy, and (4) strengthening the character curriculum through learning and extracurricular activities. This strategy is reinforced by a preventive approach in the form of anti-bullying campaigns based on Islamic values and collaborative student activities, as well as a curative approach through reconciliation mechanisms, educational sanctions, and psychological support for victims. This research emphasises that the transformative synergy between Islamic values and educational regulations is not only reactive but also preventive and curative in creating a safe, friendly, and Islamic-character-based madrasah ecosystem.

Abstract

This study examines the preservation efforts of Adat Nobat as part of the cultural heritage of the Bayan community in North Lombok Regency through the lens of T.O. Ihromi’s legal anthropology theory. Adat Nobat is a traditional marriage ritual rich in social, spiritual, and moral values, playing a significant role in fostering family harmony and maintaining social stability. This tradition reflects the Bayan community’s understanding of law as a living cultural element (living law), in which customary norms function both as behavioral guidelines and mechanisms of social control. The findings reveal that each sequence of the Adat Nobat procession such as ulun dedosan, ajikrama, syahadat daya, and serong serah embodies legal and ethical teachings that reinforce the values of responsibility, loyalty, solidarity, and cooperation within family life. The preservation of this tradition is maintained through intergenerational cultural transmission, the active involvement of customary leaders, and the role of traditional institutions and the community in safeguarding the continuity of these cultural practices. Overall, the preservation of Adat Nobat, analyzed through T.O. Ihromi’s legal anthropology framework, demonstrates that customary law is an expression of culture that remains dynamic and continuously evolving. This customary law not only regulates social relations but also strengthens family resilience and maintains harmony between traditional values and the changing social dynamics within the Bayan community.

Abstract

This article examines the dual role of the kyai as both religious scholar (ulama) and political authority (umara) in contemporary Indonesia. Drawing on conceptual and descriptive-analytic methods, it analyzes al-Ghazali’s classical political theory on the unity of religion and state, contrasting it with modern secularism which advocates for institutional separation between the two. In Indonesia, various kyai have served as public officials—regents, governors, legislators, and ministers—creating a complex interplay between moral-religious legitimacy and administrative-political responsibility. This dual role brings both opportunities and vulnerabilities, such as potential conflicts of interest, misuse of religious symbolism, and shifting public perceptions of pesantren. The presidency of Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) serves as a central case study demonstrating how a religious intellectual reshapes political ethics and governance. The article concludes with a reflection on the challenges posed by recent PBNU conflicts, modernization, and public accountability within the frameworks of al-Ghazali’s thought and secular critiques.
