Abstract

This research aims to develop IPAS comics on human digestive system material to train Nature of Science (NOS) for 10-11 year old students. The method used is the Borg and Gall model, involving validators from two media experts, two material experts, and one language expert. The validation results show that the developed comic has high feasibility, with percentages of 94% for material, 97% for media, and 98% for language. Thus, this comic is feasible and can be used as a learning medium, and is expected to increase students' understanding and interest in natural science. This research recommends integrating comics into the curriculum to support more innovative learning.

Abstract

Students' low learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) remain a significant educational issue, as reflected in their limited conceptual understanding and reasoning skills. This condition is partly caused by teacher-centered learning practices that do not actively engage students in the learning process. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Probing Prompting learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at MI Al Hikmah Bandar Lampung. The study employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The sample comprised 60 students, divided into an experimental and a control group. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.023), indicating that the Probing Prompting learning model had a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. Descriptively, the experimental group showed a greater improvement in learning outcomes than the control group. These findings suggest that the Probing Prompting learning model can enhance students' active participation, reasoning skills, and conceptual understanding in IPAS learning. Therefore, this model can serve as an effective instructional strategy for improving students' learning outcomes in IPAS. The findings also highlight the importance of implementing active and student-centered learning models to enhance the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various aspects of education, including formative assessment practices. AI enables teachers to receive assistance in designing assessment instruments, analyzing learning outcomes, and providing feedback more efficiently. This study aims to analyze Islamic Education teachers' perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence as a formative assessment tool. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this study. The participants consisted of ten Islamic Education teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic Education teachers generally have positive perceptions regarding the use of AI in formative assessment. AI is considered helpful in developing assessment instruments, generating diverse assessment items, accelerating learning outcome analysis, and supporting feedback provision. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital competence among teachers, concerns about the accuracy of AI-generated information, and ethical issues related to its implementation. Therefore, improving teachers’ digital literacy and providing AI-related training are necessary to optimize the use of AI in educational assessment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Efforts to enhance physical fitness and solidify the character of elementary school students continue to rely significantly on the crucial role of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). In order to construct a healthy environment within the school premises, instilling a PHBS culture is essential to foster a sense of discipline, responsibility, and ecological awareness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the PHBS culture in establishing a healthy school environment and developing the character of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 6 Lampung Selatan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved informants comprising the school principal, teachers, School Health Unit (UKS) staff, and students, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman framework. The findings indicate that the realization of the PHBS culture is executed through routine programs, teacher role-modeling, the provision of hygiene facilities, and continuous monitoring. These PHBS activities are implemented via classroom cleaning duties, routine handwashing, maintenance of the school's green environment, and the optimization of the UKS. Consequently, the introduction of a PHBS culture significantly contributes to the conditioning of a healthy environment within the educational institution while constructively shaping the students' character. ABSTRAK Upaya peningkatan kebugaran tubuh serta pemapanan karakter peserta didik pada tingkat sekolah dasar hingga kini dinilai tetap bertumpu pada krusialnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Demi mengonstruksi lingkungan sehat pada lingkup sekolahan, penanaman budaya PHBS dibutuhkan demi memupuk moralitas tertib, rasa kewajiban, serta kepedulian terhadap ekologi sekitar. Kajian ini bertujuan membedah pelaksanaan budaya PHBS dalam mewujudkan lingkungan sehat sekolahan serta mematangkan karakter peserta didik di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 6 Lampung Selatan. Kajian kualitatif deskriptif ini melibatkan narasumber yang mencakup pimpinan lembaga, pengajar, staf UKS, serta subjek didik lewat mekanisme purposive sampling. Penjaringan informasi dilangsungkan lewat pengamatan, tatap muka, serta pengarsipan berkas, sementara pembedahan fakta mengeksploitasi skema Miles dan Huberman. Temuan mengindikasikan bahwa realisasi budaya PHBS dijalankan lewat agenda rutin, percontohan dari pengajar, penyediaan sarana higienitas, serta kontrol yang diselenggarakan secara kontinu. Aktivitas PHBS tersebut diimplementasikan lewat penugasan kebersihan kelas, rutinitas membasuh jemari, pemeliharaan keasrian sekitar, dan pengoptimalan UKS. Karenanya, introduksi budaya PHBS menyumbang dampak besar bagi pengondisian lingkungan sehat di institusi pendidikan sekaligus memahat karakter peserta didik secara konstruktif.
