Abstract

Implementasi kurikulum merdeka diharapkan mampu melatihkan tuntutan kompetensi 4C pada abad 21 salah satunya kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat dilatihkan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik discovery learning. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan E-Book berbasis discovery learning, mendeskripsikan validitas serta kepraktisan E-Book. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE meliputi Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Parameter dilihat dari tingkat validitas berdasarkan telaah tiga validator serta kepraktisan yang ditinjau dari keterbacaan dan respon peserta didik. Penelitian ini diujicobakan pada 36 peserta didik kelas XI Fase F-3 SMAS Hang Tuah 1 Surabaya. Validitas E-Book berdasarkan komponen aspek kelayakan isi, kelayakan penyajian, kelayakan bahasa, dan aspek melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 3,84 berkategori sangat valid. Hasil uji keterbacaan E-Book yakni pada level 11 sesuai dengan sasaran pengguna peserta didik kelas XI SMA dengan persentase 91,6% kategori sangat baik. Respons peserta didik terhadap E-Book menunjukkan persentase positif sebesar 97,62% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa E-Book berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi yang dikembangkan valid dan praktis sebagai bahan ajar. Penggunaan E-Book dapat digunakan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas XI SMA karena E-Book dikembangkan untuk memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam berlatih kemampuan berpikir kritis. Abstract

Objective: Able to face global challenges. One approach that has garnered attention is problem-based learning, considered capable of enhancing students' scientific literacy. This article aims to design and analyze the improvement of scientific literacy through problem-based learning methods. Method: The method employed in this research is a literature review. Results: The analysis revealed that PBL significantly improves students' scientific literacy skills. N-Gain values indicated moderate to high gains, and t-test results showed significance values below 0.05, confirming a substantial increase in scientific literacy after PBL implementation. Novelty: This article provides a comprehensive evaluation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing scientific literacy. Analyzing 15 selected studies, it shows significant improvements in students' scientific literacy skills, supported by N-Gain values and t-test results. The review highlights PBL's effectiveness, including the integration of technology, and offers robust evidence of its positive impact on students' ability to understand and apply scientific information, thus enriching the literature on effective teaching strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-book berbasis kearifan lokal Sumur Panguripan Surabaya dari aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan literasi digital peserta didik. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ASSURE. Validitas diperoleh dari hasil validasi dua dosen ahli mendapatkan persentase validitas Aikens’V sebesar 1% yang berada pada kategori sangat valid dan layak untuk diujicobakan. Kepraktisan e-book berada pada kategori sangat praktis, hal ini ditunjukkan dari aspek keterbacaan yang berada pada level 12, observasi guru dengan persentase 95%, dan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran dengan persentase 90%. Efektivitas diukur melalui pre-test dan post-test, dengan rata-rata nilai post-test sebesar 88,9 dan nilai N-Gain 0,72 (kategori tinggi). Hasil indikator literasi digital menunjukkan capaian yang sangat efektif, dengan nilai rata-rata photo visual skill 94%, branching skill 87%, reproductive skill 83%, dan Information skill 91%. Respons guru dan siswa juga sangat positif, masing-masing sebesar 95,8% dan 91%. E-book ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan literasi digital siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) dan berpotensi menjadi inovasi untuk pembelajaran literasi digital.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the implementation process of the Green Entrepreneurship project model to build sustainable entrepreneurship grounded in science and the SDGs in Islamic boarding schools. The qualitative approach of the grounded theory method: 1) Determining the design; 2) Formulating the problem; 3) Access to the research setting; 4) Data collection procedures; 5) Coding process; 6) Selective coding; 7. Validation of the theory. Data collection techniques: interviews, observations, and documentation of informants. Data analysis techniques from the researcher's entry into the field through the end of the research: displaying, reducing, analyzing, and concluding data. Data validity test: triangulation of credibility tests, member checks, and audit trails with VOSviewer novelty analysis. The results of the study show a three-dimensional transformation of Islamic boarding school entrepreneurship, namely Islamic spirituality as the foundation of values ​​of concern for God's creation based on environmentally friendly businesses, integration of science not only spiritual values, but using scientific methods, technology, and innovative, efficient, sustainable business research, and innovation technology, as well as ecological awareness as a sustainable direction so that the theory is formed "Theoretical novelty of developing a green entrepreneurship learning model based on science, STEAM, SDGs, and Islamic boarding school spirituality, methodological novelty of transdisciplinary learning strategies with Islamic boarding school education policies and green entrepreneurship curriculum", Islamic boarding school efforts to foster environmentally friendly, social economic independence and sustainable development, not only limited to formal Madrasah education, but the entire educational and spiritual ecosystem that lives in it.

Abstract

The integration of local wisdom into science learning is a global pedagogical trend that leads to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4). Local wisdom serves to make scientific concepts contextual, meaningful, and culturally relevant for students. The challenge of contextual implementation can be addressed through interdisciplinary approaches such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), which serve as a bridge between local wisdom and education. This systematic literature review (SLR) modified with Bibliometric Analysis aims to map the global research landscape on the integration of local wisdom and STEM in formal science education from 2014 to 2024. A total of 155 articles indexed in the Scopus database were analyzed using Bibliometric analysis tools, including VOSviewer, Microsoft Excel, and Datawrapper. The results show an increase in publications post-pandemic, driven by the urgency of advancing SDG 4 and the need for adaptive learning innovation. Geographically, research is concentrated in the United States, Indonesia, and South Africa, with global collaborations indicating this issue as a transnational agenda. An in-depth review of 21 inclusive articles reveals a predominance of qualitative-exploratory approaches. Subject distribution indicates a strong focus on General Science Education, Environment/Ecology, and Biology. Furthermore, research is predominantly focused on higher education and junior high school levels, while high school and elementary school levels remain underrepresented. The study's conclusions highlight the central role of STEM as a bridge in integrating local wisdom.

Abstract

Background: The development of students’ critical thinking skills has become a central concern in 21st-century education, particularly in response to increasingly complex scientific, technological, and societal challenges. Despite the growing number of studies examining these approaches, existing research remains fragmented, and a comprehensive synthesis that maps research trends, thematic orientations, and theoretical implications is still limited. Aims: This study aims to examine the evolution, distribution, and scholarly significance of research on Discovery Learning and STEAM in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. Methods: A systematic literature review combined with bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Scopus database. A total of 714 documents published between 2014 and 2025 were initially identified using the keywords “Discovery Learning,” “STEAM,” and “critical thinking.” After applying PRISMA-based inclusion and exclusion criteria, 75 peer-reviewed articles were selected for in-depth analysis. Bibliometric mapping was performed using VOSviewer to examine publication trends, country and institutional contributions, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic networks. Results: The findings reveal a consistent growth in research on both Discovery Learning and STEAM, with a notable increase in publications over the last five years. Discovery Learning is predominantly associated with inquiry, experimentation, and metacognitive regulation, while STEAM emphasizes interdisciplinary integration, creativity, and technology-enhanced problem-solving. The analysis also indicates a strong concentration of studies in developing countries, particularly Indonesia, alongside expanding international contributions. However, limited cross-national collaboration and uneven thematic depth remain evident. Conclusion: This review demonstrates that Discovery Learning and STEAM function as complementary pedagogical frameworks that collectively strengthen students’ critical thinking through inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, and reflective learning processes. Beyond confirming their effectiveness, this study highlights the need for deeper theoretical integration, stronger empirical validation, and more globally collaborative research. By synthesizing research trends and identifying underexplored dimensions, this review provides a robust foundation for advancing sustainability-oriented, context-responsive, and future-ready educational practices.

Abstract

Transformasi teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan menuntut adaptasi melalui penguasaan keterampilan abad ke-21, di mana salah satu ciri utamanya ialah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran yang relevan dengan kebutuhan masa kini dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Pendekatan ini dinilai efektif untuk mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dan mengasah keterampilan berpikir kritis secara terstruktur. Di antara berbagai disiplin ilmu, materi Biologi, khususnya topik Bioteknologi, sangat tepat diintegrasikan dengan model STEM karena memiliki keterkaitan dengan berbagai aspek teknologi dan rekayasa. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan E-book berbasis STEM pada materi Bioteknologi, yang dirancang untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara sistematis. Proses pengembangan dilakukan menggunakan model 4-D, yaitu melalui tahapan define, design, development, serta dissemination. Implementasi produk dilakukan pada siswa kelas XII MIPA di MA Unggulan Al-Falah, melibatkan 20 peserta didik sebagai subjek uji coba. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan E-book yang dikembangkan memperoleh rata-rata skor validitas sebesar 95,69% yang masuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Aspek keterbacaan E-book berada pada level 12, sementara respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan E-book menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan yang sangat positif, dengan rata-rata skor sebesar 96,31%. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-book berbasis STEM pada materi Bioteknologi layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang sangat valid dan praktis untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan ajar seperti Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) sangat diperlukan untuk menunjang proses pembelajaran dalam memberikan kebermaknaan dalam belajar. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, dilakukan inovasi penyajian LKPD dalam bentuk elektronik (E-LKPD) yang bisa ditambahkan animasi, gambar/ilustrasi, audio, maupun video. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan dalam mendeskripsikan efektivitas E-LKPD berbasis PBL pada materi perubahan lingkungan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang efektif. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Produk yang dihasilkan berupa dua E-LKPD yang dirancang sesuai sintaks PBL, memuat kegiatan pembelajaran serta fitur-fitur dan diuji pada 35 siswa kelas X-10 SMA Negeri 22 Surabaya. Parameter efektivitas diukur dari hasil pretest dan posttest serta ketercapaian indikator berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD tergolong efektif dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar sebesar 81% dengan ketegori baik (efektif) dan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,54 yang masuk kategori sedang. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa E-LKPD berbasis PBL efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi perubahan lingkungan.

Abstract

Data PISA 2022 menunjukkan skor literasi sains peserta didik Indonesia mengalami penurunan 13 poin dibandingkan tahun 2018. Penurunan skor literasi sains ini mencerminkan menurunnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Kondisi ini diperkuat dengan pembelajaran yang kurang berorientasi pada proses ilmiah serta terbatasnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif. Pendekatan saintifik yang menekankan tahapan mengamati, merumuskan masalah, mengumpulkan informasi, mengasosiasi, dan mengomunikasikan dinilai relevan untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sains, termasuk pada materi fungi yang mendukung pembelajaran berorientasi pada proses ilmiah dengan melibatkan kegiatan pengamatan dan percobaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan E-LKPD yang ditinjau dari ketercapaian indikator berpikir kritis, analisis N-Gain score dan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa. E-LKPD dikembangkan mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Efektivitas E-LKPD yang dikembangkan menunjukkan nilai persentase ketercapaian indikator berpikir kritis sebesar 87,7% dan ketuntasan hasil belajar dengan nilai persentase 100%, serta skor N-Gain 0,8 dengan kategori tinggi. Abstract

The Indonesian Community Association (PERMAI) is a nonprofit organization that supports Indonesian communities living in Malaysia. One of its educational programs is Sanggar Bimbing (SB) Permai, which provides access to education for Indonesian children who face difficulties obtaining formal education. In this program, students are introduced to Indonesian curriculum materials, including citizenship, history, culture, and the Indonesian language, as well as academic subjects such as basic science. However, limited facilities and teaching staff restrict the amount of material students receive. Therefore, an enrichment program on basic science was conducted through simple experiments to improve students’ science process skills. The program was implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed a moderate improvement in students’ science understanding (N-gain = 0.53), very positive participant responses (average score = 4.38), and well-developed science skills, including observing, planning experiments, using tools and materials, and conducting experiments. Overall, the simple experiment activities received positive responses, although improvements are still needed to enhance their effectiveness and implementation according to students’ conditions.
