Abstract

The mental workload of critical care nurses significantly impacts their well-being, job satisfaction, and overall performance, ultimately affecting the quality of care in critical care environments. This study aimed to identify and categorize the factors influencing mental workload among critical care nurses through a scoping review guided by Arksey and O'Malley’s framework. A comprehensive literature search across five databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, EBSCOhost - CINAHL Complete, Medline, and Scopus) resulted in the inclusion of 8 relevant studies, which examined the psychosocial, organizational, and environmental factors contributing to critical care nurses' mental workload. The findings revealed that mental workload is influenced by a range of factors, including nurse-to-patient ratios, patient complexity, demographic characteristics (such as age and experience), and psychosocial stressors such as job dissatisfaction, lack of organizational support, and high emotional demands. Additionally, higher patient loads, long shifts, and inadequate support systems were identified as key contributors to mental strain, leading to increased fatigue, burnout, and reduced job satisfaction. The study emphasized the critical role of organizational support, motivation, and leadership in mitigating mental workload. Interventions aimed at improving staffing, work conditions, and leadership quality, alongside the reduction of excessive patient loads, are essential for enhancing nurse resilience, reducing burnout, and ultimately improving patient care outcomes in critical care settings.

Abstract

Hospital is a health service institution that provides comprehensive personal health services, including medical services, medical rehabilitation and maintenance services. These services are carried out through the emergency department, outpatient unit and inpatient unit. Specialists and subspecialist doctors in hospitals provide outpatient services. By reviewing published works in 10 journals from 2015 to 2022, we examine the relationship between BPJS patient satisfaction level and service quality with the keywords service satisfaction journal search, BPJS, and Hospitals. The analytical tool used was PICO. The results of the study found that based on satisfaction indicators, there were seven dissatisfied journals (66.7%) on all the hands described (Tangibility, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy) from 9 journals (90%) dissatisfied with BPJS services in hospitals. Patient satisfaction will impact the quality of service in a hospital.

Abstract

The presence of comorbid diseases has become a crucial concern in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring the need for the implementation of GERMAS (Healthy Living Movement) policy as a preventive measure initiated by the government. GERMAS aims to control the increase in non-communicable disease cases, which have the potential to disrupt human resources and productivity, as well as negatively impact social and economic development. In its implementation, GERMAS must adhere to the principles of Good Governance to ensure transparency, community participation, accountability, effectiveness, efficiency, responsiveness, and consensus. This research aims to analyze Transparency, Participation, Accountability, Effectiveness and Efficiency, Responsiveness, and Consensus. This research employs a qualitative approach with a narrative method and in-depth interviews with 12 informants. While GERMAS has been implemented since the President's directive in 2017, there are still several challenges in enhancing its effectiveness. Analysis of Good Governance principles highlights issues such as lack of community participation, low transparency and inter-agency coordination, and insufficient attention to inactive GERMAS forums. Further research is needed to deepen understanding of GERMAS implementation in Kutai Barat, focusing on aspects such as inter-sectoral communication, community participation, and enhancement of accountability of relevant agencies. Concrete steps such as comprehensive performance audits and increased social media outreach can help improve policy implementation.
