Abstract

Tofu liquid waste that contains high levels of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) is usually discharged directly into the waters, causing a foul odor in community drainage and contaminating rivers. This study aims to determine the potential of Chlorella sp as a bioremediation agent in tofu wastewater. This type of research is research that uses the literature review method. The stages of literature collection used in this study refer to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. This stage consists of four procedures, namely, identification, screening, eligibility, and acceptance. This study shows that the microalgae Chlorella sp. can increase population growth and lipid levels, Chlorella sp. Can reduce COD and Nitrate levels contained in tofu liquid waste, and increase the pH from acidic to neutral. Based on the results of the study found, it can be concluded that Chlorella sp has the potential as a bioremediation agent in tofu liquid waste.

Abstract

Rice snails are one of the pests that have the potential to cause high losses to rice plants. Rice snail mucus contains glycosaminoglycans, proteoglycans, glycoprotein enzymes, copper peptides, metal ions, collagen, elastin, glycolic acid, allantoin, antimicrobial peptides and vitamin C. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is one of the vitamins needed by the body that functions as a help process in the body's metabolism. To determine vitamin C levels can be done using the UV-VIS spectrophotometry method with a wavelength of 260 nm. This study aims to determine vitamin C levels from rice snail mucus concentration of 100% and rice snail mucus concentration of 50%. This study is descriptive quantitative, analyzing vitamin C levels obtained from a spectrophotometer can be seen from the absorbance of rice snail mucus. Based on the results of research obtained from the analysis of vitamin C levels of rice snail mucus, the concentration of 100% is 2,372. While vitamin C levels in rice snail mucus concentration of 50% were obtained at 0.911. So it can be concluded that there are vitamin C levels in rice snail mucus with a concentration of 100% greater absorbance than 50% rice snail mucus.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country on the equator and is always in the sun all day long. The sun is an aspect that has a significant impact on human health. The purpose of conducting this literature review is to provide information to readers regarding the effect of sun exposure on levels of the hormone serotonin. The method used in this writing is a literature review article (LRA) with library sources obtained through the Publish Or Perish data base which was published from 2010 to 2022 with the topic Effects of Sun Exposure on Serotonin Levels. This literature review uses keywords including exposure, sun, vitamin D, hormones, and serotonin. The journal results from the search obtained 67 journals which included inclusion, namely 57 journals then were selected with topic relevance, there were only 10 journals. Based on the results of the literature review of the article, it was found that sunlight affects human health, one of which is stimulating the formation of the hormones serotonin and Vitamin D.

Abstract

Abstract:Indonesia is one of the tropical countries with year-round sunshine. This certainly allows Indonesians to be regularly exposed to the sun during daytime activities outside the home. Exposure to the sun has a significant impact on humans. To date, research on the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, particularly in humans, has been rare. The purpose of  this literature review is to provide the reader with information on the effects of sun exposure on parathyroid hormone levels. The method used to write this document is the literary criticism method. (LRA) with references taken from published or revoked (POP) databases published between 2010 and 2022. In this literature review, the keywords used include including sun, hormones, activity, vitamin D, parathyroid glands. Based on literature from a variety of research findings, it was found that sun exposure affects parathyroid hormone levels. Because vitamin D in sunlight is in the  form of 1,25(OH)2D, it works with parathyroid hormone and calcitonin to maintain normal plasma calcium levels.

Abstract

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the leading causes of cervical cancer, with the L1 gene playing an important role in vaccine development. This study aims to analyze the genetic variation of the L1 gene of HPV types 16, 18, 52, and 58 using the RFLP method in silico by utilizing restriction enzymes. The results showed that. The pattern of genetic conservation is more dominant in HPV 16 and 52 than other types, indicating the potential important role of the L1 gene in vaccine development. This study confirms the importance of analyzing genetic variation to understand HPV genetic diversity. These results may contribute to the development of more specific vaccines and molecular markers for HPV detection.
