Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effect of concentration and soaking time on the internal quality of quail eggs stored for 20 days. This study used two factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely immersion with starfruit leaf solution, namely 10%, 20%, and 30%, with immersion time for 5 h, 10 h and 15 h. Observation data used analysis of variance and continued with the LSD test. The results showed that soaking eggs using starfruit leaf solution had a significantly effect on the concentration of egg white index, egg yolk index, and haugh unit, while the decrease in egg weight (%) had no significant effect. Soaking time had a very significantly effect on the egg white index and the percentage of egg weight reduction, while the egg yolk and haugh unit index had no significantly effect. The interaction between treatment concentration and soaking time of quail eggs had no significantly effect on egg white index, egg yolk index, haugh unit, and the percentage of egg weight reduction.Keywords: Immersion, Wuluh Starfruit Leaf Solution, Internal Quality of Quail Eggs.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan suatu pengaruh konsentrasi dan lama perendaman terhadap kualitas internal telur puyuh yang disimpan selama 20 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 2 faktorial yaitu perendaman dengan larutan daun belimbing wuluh yaitu 10%, 20%, dan 30%, dengan waktu perendaman selama 5 jam, 10 jam, dan 15 jam. Data hasil pengamatan menggunakan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman telur menggunakan larutan daun belimbing wuluh berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsentrasi indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, dan haugh unit, sedangkan pada penurunan bobot telur (%) tidak berpengaruh nyata. Lama perendaman berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap indeks putih telur dan persentase penurunan bobot telur sedangkan pada indeks kuning telur dan haugh unit tidak berpengaruh nyata. Interaksi antara konsentrasi perlakuan dan lama perendaman telur puyuh tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, haugh unit, dan persentase penurunan bobot telur.Kata Kunci :Perendaman, Larutan Daun Belimbing Wuluh, Kualitas Internal Telur Puyuh

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze the effect of immersing egg in citronella grass solution on the internal quality and durability of eggs stored for 25 days. The research materials were broiler chicken eggs. This study used 85 eggs with an average initial weight of 59-60 g. This study used a completely randomized two-factorial design, namely immersion in citronella leaf solution with concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30%, with immersion time for 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours. The study used nine treatments and three replications. The observed data were analyzed using ANOVA at the 5% significance level and then continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that immersing eggs using citronella grass solutions had a very significant effect (P <0.05) on the egg white index value and the egg yolk index value, a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the haugh value of egg units, and no significant effect on the percentage of egg weight reduction. A concentration of 20% of citronella grass solution had the best effect on the internal quality of eggs.Keywords: eggs, citronella grass, internal quality, durability, broiler chicken.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh perendaman telur menggunakan larutan daun serai wangi terhadap kualitas internal dan daya tahan telur ayam ras yang disimpan selama 25 hari. Bahan penelitian menggunakan telur ayam ras konsumsi. Jumlah telur ayam ras yang digunakan sebanyak 85 butir dengan bobot awal rata-rata 59±60 g/butir. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dua faktorial yaitu perendaman dengan larutan daun sereh konsentrasi 10%, 20% dan 30%, dengan waktu perendaman selama 6 jam, 12 jam, dan 24 jam. Dengan menggunakan 9 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis ragam pada taraf 5% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman telur menggunakan larutan daun sereh wangi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,05) pada nilai indeks putih telur dan nilai indeks kuning telur, berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap nilai haugh unit telur dan tidak berpengaruh nyata pada persentase penurunan berat telur. Konsentrasi 20% larutan daun serai wangi memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap kualitas internal telur ayam ras.Kata kunci: daun sereh wangi, telur, kualitas internal, ayam ras.

Abstract

The study aims to find out the appearance of super kampung chicken production aged 1-7 weeks at the giving of different levels of tofu pulp in rations. held in January-March in the Laboratory of Livestock Production Science and Technology Poultry Livestock Unit Faculty of Animal Husbandry Halu Oleo University. Using 64 super kampung chickens, using a Complete Random Plan (RAL) 4 treatments namely P0 (0% tofu pulp flour), P1 (5% tofu pulp flour), P2 (10% tofu pulp flour) P3 (15% tofu pulp flour) and 4 repeats. Research variables are ration consumption, weight gain, ration conversion analyzed using fingerprints followed by the Smallest Real Difference test (BNT). The results of the analysis of average consumption of rations (g/tail/day) 37.12(P0), 36.15(P1), 36.70 (P2), 34.23 (P3). Average Weight Gain (g/tail/day) 13.05 (P0), 11.81 (P1), 11.74 (P2), 10.58(P3). Ration conversion average 2.71 (P0), 3.07 (P1), 3.16 (P2), 3.24(P3). The results of the study showed that the provision of tofu pulp flour has no real effect (P>0.05) on the consumption of super kampung chicken rations, while in the weight gain of flour giving tofu pulp has a very real effect (P<0.01) and a real effect (P<0.05) on the conversion of super kampung chicken rations.

Abstract

This study aims to observe the diversity of species and forage dominance while analyzing the carrying capacity based on the area of forage produced in the area of oil palm plantations. The research sample was carried out by way of tapping which was carried out at 3 different locations namely Watubangga District, Tanggetada District and Polinggona District which were the basis for the development of oil palm plantations. The results showed that there were 24 forage species divided into 9 families, namely Graminae, Cyperaceae, Polypodiceae, Rubiaceae, Verbenaceae, Aspleniaceae, Asteraceae, Mimosaceae, and Leguminaceae. As for types of forage that can be used as animal feed for 3 families, namely Graminae, Cyperaceae, and Leguminacea. The results of the carrying capacity analysis show that oil palm plantations can only accommodate as many as 59.30 cattle of Bali cattle (ST).Keywords: Forage Type, Carrying Capacity, Palm Oil, Bali Cattle

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of red sweet potato flour on slaughter weight, percentage ofcarcass weight, and abdominal fat in broiler chickens fed with additional red sweet potato flour. Thisresearch was conducted in April to May 2018, housed in the Raman Farm enclosure in Puosu JayaVillage, Konda District, Konawe Selatan District. The material used in this study was 64 weeks oldbroiler chickens, with 64 feed ingredients used as the concentrate, corn, bean, sweet potato flour. Theequipment used is a scale, a colony cage made of wire-lined wood and measuring 4m x 2m, which isdivided into 16 plots and the size of each 1m x 0.5m, each story is equipped with a place to eat anddrink, 40-watt incandescent balloons and other equipment such as scales, ovens, sample grinders,basins, plastics, and gutters. This study was designed using a complete randomized design with fourtreatments and four replications, where four treatments consisted of P0 basic ration (Control), P1:basic ration containing 4% red sweet potato flour, P2: elemental percentage containing 6% red sweetpotato flour, and P3: basic ration contains 8% red sweet potato flour. The variables observed in thisstudy were cutting weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. The results ofthe analysis of variance showed that the administration of red sweet potato flour had no significanteffect (P> 0.05) on the percentage of carcasses and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. Broiler chickenaged five weeks. It was concluded that the provision of different red sweet potato flour in feed did notsignificantly affect slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat percentage of broilerchickens. There is a tendency for broilers fed with red sweet potato flour to have heavier cut weights,a more significant portion of carcasses and an increase in the level of red yam, and a decrease inabdominal fat content and the addition of red yam levels in the feed.

Abstract

This research was conducted in January 2019 until February 2019, located in North Rorowatu District, Bombana Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine body weight with body size (chest circumference, body length, shoulder height and hip height). Male and female goats in North Rarowatu District Bombana Regency. The material used in this study is adult male and female goats aged 12-24 years as many as 201 animals. The instrument used is a 50 kg scale with a capacity of 50 kg to measure life weight, a measuring tape to measure chest circumference, body length and a measuring stick to measure shoulder height, hip height. The results of this study indicate that the average body weight of male goats is 29.06 ± 5.85 kg and female goats are 23.75 ± 3.00 kg, chest circumference of male goats is 69.60 ± 5.83 cm and on goats females at 67.38 ± 7.92 cm, body length on male goats at 62.05 ± 6.46 cm and on female goats at 60.50 ± 8.46 cm shoulder height on male goats at 58.03 ± 4, 54 and in females 54.49 ± 7.65 cm, hip height in male goats was 59.44 ± 4.85 and in female goats 57.49 ± 7.75 cm. Based on the results of the study concluded there was a relationship between body measurements with body weight of goat nuts in North Rarowatu District. Chest circumference has the most close and very strong relationship to body weight as indicated by the correlation coefficient of 0.92 in males and 0.86 in females. Sequentially the results of the analysis of the correlation coefficient and determination are body weight - chest circumference 0.92 and 84.09% male, body weight - chest circumference 0.86-74.46% female, body weight - body length 0.68 and 46, 79% male, body weight - body length 0.70.48.89% female, body weight - shoulder height 0.60 and 36.36% male, body weight - shoulder height 0.64 and 40.98% female body weight - hip height 0.66 and 43.01% male, body weight - hip height 0.59 and 35.09% female.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of citric acid on layer quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) of production performance. The material used in this study was 80 quail of layer period (12 weeks) observed kept for five weeks. This study was used to complete randomized design with four treatments and five replications. Levels of citric acid administration were 0%, 0,3%, 0,6% and 0,9%, respectively. Parameters observed were feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, and feed conversion. The results showed that citric acid did not have a significant effect (P> 0,05) on feed consumption and quail egg weight, but gave real effect (P<0,05) to quail egg production and gave very significant effect (P<0,01) to feed conversion of quail. The addition of citric acid with a level of 0,6% (P2) gives better egg production and feed conversion than other treatments. Keywords: Quail, Citric Acid, Production Performance

Abstract

The strategy of developing Bali cattle and oil palm plantations is carried out to increase income as well as one of the strategic efforts in overcoming the limitations of animal feed faced by farmers. The strategy of developing Bali cattle farms in oil palm plantations is directed at the development of the cattle breeding industry, fattening industries and by-products of animal feed-based products and by-products of palm oil as a center for cattle development in the context of revitalizing and accelerating sustainable livestock development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development strategy of Bali cattle based on oil palm plantations. The analysis tools used are L/Q (Location Questions), Carrying Capacity and SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). The results showed that the Kolaka Regency has the potential as a center for the development of Bali cattle based on the results of oil palm plantations.
