Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze research trends on the concept of parallel worlds within metaphysical studies and its connections to both modern and classical physics. The focus is on exploring the relationship between metaphysical perspectives, cultural traditions, and scientific theories such as relativity, dimensions, and thermodynamics. Method: This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis. Data were collected from various international academic databases covering publications from the last five years and were analyzed thematically to identify patterns, conceptual linkages, and emerging research trends. Results: The analysis reveals a growing number of publications discussing parallel worlds and metaphysics over the past five years. Many studies integrate traditional and cultural wisdom with modern physics, positioning the field as a multidisciplinary endeavor bridging philosophy and science. Novelty: This study finds that parallel worlds are closely connected to metaphysics and physics, particularly in the context of space-time dimensions, relativity, quantum mechanics, and thermodynamic principles. The integration of cultural, philosophical, and scientific perspectives highlights that metaphysics is not solely speculative but can be examined scientifically through interdisciplinary approaches.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine potential future research directions that can strengthen the integration between SRL and physics education in order to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goal 4 on Quality Education. Method: This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach, a bibliometric analysis study used data from the Scopus database to map trends and focuses on Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) research in international literature.  Results: There is a global research trend in SRL and physics learning that supports the SDGs. The number of documents and citations increased from 2020 to 2025, resulting in 123 Scopus documents, with the highest number of citations in 2024, reaching 185. Novelty: The findings of the bibliometric analysis identified three main aspects of SRL research on physics materials and their influence on the SDGs, including the use of AI technology, relevant learning models, and learning processes. Future research directions hold great potential for integrating technologies such as AI and IoT devices into SRL to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This finding is in innovative learning planning focused on self-satisfaction in the era of technology adoption.

Abstract

Objective: The research aims to comprehensively understand the various psychological challenges in learning in the 21st century education era. This approach not only helps identify dominant research themes, but also uncovers research areas that are still rarely studied, so that it can provide a stronger basis for formulating further research directions in the field of learning psychology that supports the transformation of quality education SDG point 4.  Method: This research uses a literature study approach with bibliometric analysis methods to map the development of research related to psychological aspects in 21st century learning. Scopus data was obtained from 106 documents in 2016-2016 which were analyzed using the PRISMA design to determine the bibliometric distribution.  Results:  Research trends regarding psychological approaches to learning continue to increase in supporting 21st century education. Bibliometric analysis indicates that themes such as learning motivation, self-regulation, learner engagement, and experience-based learning are the main focus in current studies. Research contributions are also dominated by several countries that are actively developing pedagogical innovations to answer modern learning challenges.  Novelty: The findings of this research indicate that the integration of psychological aspects in learning design is very important to improve the quality of education in the 21st century. Educators need to implement a learning model that is student-centered and supports balanced cognitive, emotional and social development. In addition, the results of this research can be a basis for developing educational policies that pay more attention to psychological well-being in the learning process.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine how digital learning aid systems support the development of students’ problem solving skills in physics education. The study focuses on identifying how digital tools facilitate conceptual understanding, visualization of abstract physics concepts, inquiry based learning processes, and student engagement in solving physics problems. Method: This research uses a systematic literature review approach. Relevant studies were collected from international scientific databases and selected based on inclusion criteria related to digital learning systems, physics education, and problem solving skills. The selected articles were analyzed to identify learning mechanisms, instructional features, and patterns of digital technology use that support problem solving in physics learning environments. Results: The analysis shows that digital learning aid systems enhance problem solving through several instructional mechanisms. Interactive simulations, virtual experiments, visualization tools, and feedback systems help students understand physics concepts, explore relationships between variables, conduct inquiry based investigations, and evaluate solution strategies. These features support analytical thinking and structured problem solving processes. Novelty: This review highlights that digital learning aid systems function not only as instructional media but as integrated learning environments that simultaneously support conceptual understanding, visualization, inquiry processes, and student engagement to strengthen problem solving skills in physics education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze previous research on the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based digital worksheets and examine their contribution to improving students’ problem-solving skills, particularly in physics, where conceptual understanding and analytical reasoning are essential. Method: This research employs a literature review, analyzing 20 relevant articles published between 2021 and 2025 that discuss the integration of PBL and digital worksheets in educational contexts. Many studies focus on physics education topics such as motion, hydrostatic pressure, momentum, optical instruments, and global warming. The selected articles were systematically reviewed and synthesized to identify trends, findings, and the effectiveness of PBL-based digital worksheets in supporting students’ problem-solving abilities. Results: The results of the review indicate that PBL-based digital worksheets positively impact students’ problem-solving skills by providing structured activities through problem identification, investigation, analysis, and solution development. In physics education, these worksheets help students understand abstract concepts, connect formulas with real-world phenomena, and solve contextual physics problems more effectively. They also create interactive, student-centered learning environments that foster active participation and higher-order thinking. In addition, this review shows that digital worksheets have evolved from simple task sheets into adaptive learning tools that support feedback, collaboration, and independent learning.  Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in highlighting PBL-based digital worksheets as not only instructional media but also as pedagogical innovation that integrates physics problem-solving processes with digital technology to improve students’ problem-solving skills, conceptual understanding, and digital competence.

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze research trends in technology-integrated problem-based learning (PBL) for physics problem-solving from 2015 to 2025. A quantitative bibliometric design was employed using the Scopus database as the primary data source. An initial search identified 49,401 documents, which were filtered using the PRISMA framework based on relevance, publication year, and screening criteria, yielding 154 publications for the final analysis. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer to examine publication trends, document types, subject areas, country contributions, and keyword co-occurrence networks. Additionally, the ten most highly cited articles were narratively reviewed to identify dominant research directions. The findings reveal a significant increase in publications, particularly in the last two years, indicating rapid growth in this field. Network and overlay visualizations show that problem-solving occupies a central position and is strongly connected to machine learning, deep learning, and intelligent learning systems. At the same time, PBL remains an emerging and less dominant theme. These findings indicate that although research on educational technologies in physics learning is rapidly expanding, the integration of Problem-Based Learning remains limited, highlighting an underexplored intersection between technological advancement and pedagogical implementation in physics education. The study concludes that this gap represents a key direction for future research in strengthening technology-integrated Problem-Based Learning to enhance students’ physics problem-solving skills. Abstract

This study maps the development, collaboration patterns, and conceptual structure of research connecting Problem-Based Learning (PBL), computational methods, and artificial intelligence (AI) in physics-related education. A descriptive bibliometric design was applied to 251 English-language journal articles and conference papers indexed in Scopus between 2016 and 2025. The dataset was retrieved on January 16, 2026, and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer 1.6.20 through performance analysis, country-level collaboration mapping, keyword co-occurrence analysis, and temporal overlay visualization. Publication output showed an overall upward trend with annual fluctuations, increasing from 10 documents in 2016 and reaching a peak of 36 documents in 2023. The reported citation counts also increased across the study period. The United States led in publication output, citation count, and collaboration strength, followed by China in productivity, while Indonesia ranked third in publication output. Of 2,330 identified keywords, 96 met the minimum occurrence threshold and formed four clusters. Problem-based learning was the most prominent keyword, with 143 occurrences and a total link strength of 999, and was strongly connected with students, simulations, curriculum, and active learning. Artificial intelligence and machine learning each recorded 30 occurrences and comparatively recent average publication years, indicating their emerging position within the network. However, their connections with PBL remained weaker than those of established simulation-based themes. The presence of medical, engineering, and technology-enhanced education terms further indicates that the corpus was interdisciplinary rather than restricted exclusively to physics education. These findings provide a structured basis for future qualitative and empirical research on the effectiveness, design, and responsible implementation of AI-supported PBL environments.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di era saat ini berlangsung dengan cepat ditengah globalisasi, sehingga tantangan di masa depan akan semakin kompleks. Dunia pendidikan dituntut untuk menyiapkan para peserta didik agar mampu menghadapi di era tantangan ini,  sehingga mereka lebih siap untuk memasuki dunia kerja. Dalam pendidikan peserta didik mengevaluasi ide-ide mereka sendiri, kebutuhan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis harus ditekankan. Kemampan  berpikir kritis dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran dengan model yang mendukung karena model  pembelajaran  sangat  berpengaruh  terhadap  keberhasilan  peserta  didik  dalam belajar.  Model  pembelajaran  berbasis  masalah  atau Problem  Based  Learning (PBL) dapat digunakan guru untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik    dalam    berpikir    kritis.    Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan model PBL berbantuan SPAW (Student Physics  Activity Worksheet) pada pembelajaran fisika untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian true experimental dengan control-group pre-test and post-test design. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar tes kemampuan berpikir  kritis,dan  angket  respon  peserta  didik.  Penelitian  ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1, kelas X-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 dan X-12 sebagai    kelas    kontrol.    Hasil    penelitian    menunjukkan    bahwa    keterlaksanaan pembelajaran  model  PBL  mendapat  nilai 95,80 % yang berkategori sangat baik, Kemampuan berpikir kritis mengalami peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen kesatu yaitu dengan rata-rata  0,64  berkategori N-Gain sedang,   dan   respon  peserta   didik   terhadap penerapan model PBL yaitu berkategori baik dengan nilai yangdidapat adalah 83%.   Kataikunci: Problem Based Learning (PBL), fisika, dan keterampilan  berpikir kritis,   Abstract The rapid development of science and technology in the current era amidst globalization, so that future challenges will be increasingly complex. The world of education is required to prepare students to be able to face the challenges in this era, so that they are better prepared to enter the world of work. In education, students evaluate their own ideas, the need to develop critical thinking skills must be emphasized. Critical thinking skills can be improved through learning with a supportive model because the learning model greatly influences student success in learning. The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model can be used by teachers to develop and improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the PBL model assisted by SPAW (Student Physics Activity Worksheet) in physics learning to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study is a true experimental study with a control-group pre-test and post-test design. The data collection technique used learning implementation sheets, critical thinking ability test sheets, and student response questionnaires. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya class X-1 as experimental class 1, class X-6 as experimental class 2 and X-12 as control class. The results of the study showed that the implementation of PBL model learning got a score of 95.80% which is categorized as very good, critical thinking ability increased in the first experimental class with an average of 0.64 in the medium N-Gain category, and student responses to the implementation of the PBL model were categorized as good with a score of 83%.   Keywords: Problem Based Learning, physics, and critical thinking skills

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran fisika dikelas peserta didik dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan abad 21 yaitu berpikir kritis khususnya pada materi gerak parabola. Namun kenyataannya keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini disebabkan karena pembelajaran fisika di dalam kelas cenderung menggunakan metode konvensional yaitu metode ceramah. Selain itu media yang digunakan berupa buku paket, buku LKS, dan papan tulis. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yaitu menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL), model pembelajaran PBL dapat diintegrasikan kedalam LKPD yang menggunakan phet dan fenomena engklek sebagai sumber permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun media yang disusun juga perlu divalidasi oleh 3 validator yaitu 2 dosen ahli dan guru mata pelajaran. Selain itu, instrumen untuk mengukur kepraktisan media diperoleh dari angket respon peserta didik, sedangkan keefektifan diukur melalui instrument tes keteram, dimana peningkatan nilai pretestdan posttest yang dianalisis dengan uji N-Gain. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa LKPD memiliki presentase antara 81-100% dan dinyatakan sangat valid, kemudian keterlaksanaan pembelajaran guru adalah 91,28%, dan menunjukkan persentase skor aktivitas peserta didik adalah 89,7%, hasil angket respon juga menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik sangat setuju jika PBL diintegrasikan dengan phet dan engklek.

Abstract

This study aims to develop PBL teaching materials and instrument to improve students’ creative thinking skills in the topic electrical circuits. This research method’s uses a 4-D development model divided to 4 stages, which are Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. the study identified students' difficulties in understanding abstract concepts and their low creative thinking, especially in flexibility and elaboration. The developed materials included a lesson plan, worksheet, and creative thinking test. Validation results showed that all materials and instrument developed achieved a “Very Valid” category and suitable to implement during learning process. Effectiveness was tested through pretest and posttest analysis, yielding an average n-gain of 0.73 (high category), with particularly strong improvements in fluency, flexibility, and elaboration.
