Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the short story writing skills, creativity, and abilities of members of the Smart Route Community Reading Park (TBM) in designing and utilizing crowdfunding as a financing strategy for the publication of literary works. This was done to address the main problems of partners in terms of low creative writing skills and the suboptimal use of digital technology for publication and marketing of works. This program was implemented through three stages: training in writing short stories based on character values and local wisdom, training in digital promotion and introduction to crowdfunding, and mentoring in completing the manuscript of a short story anthology for publication. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in aspects of writing skills and digital literacy. However, the final product, the anthology manuscript, is not yet fully ready for publication and therefore cannot be marketed digitally or through crowdfunding. Nevertheless, the competence of participants in writing techniques, editing, and the use of digital media has significantly increased. This program contributes to building a culture of productive literacy and creative character in the TBM environment.

Abstract

This study examines language politeness according to Geoffrey Leech's theory in the movie Gara-Gara Pahlawan by Muhadkuri Acho and its implications for Indonesian language learning. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with pragmatic analysis. The data were obtained by using the free listening method and listening to the narration of the characters in the movie. The results of the analysis found 12 data of compliance with the principles of language politeness, consisting of 5 data of the maxim of generosity, 3 data of the maxim of respect, 1 data of the maxim of simplicity, 1 data of the maxim of consensus, and 2 data of the maxim of sympathy. No compliance with the maxim of wisdom was found. This movie is suitable as teaching material for language politeness because it displays many polite speeches and can be a model for choosing the right words according to the context and interlocutors. The application of polite language in learning can improve students' communication skills using polite language in various social situations.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate ecology-based journalistic teaching materials, supported by the Ekosastra.com website, for the Indonesian Literature Study Program. The research is motivated by the gap in documentation between ecological journalism pedagogy and teaching materials. The research and development (R&D) approach was used in this study, guided by the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research involved 42 students in the needs analysis and 20 students in the limited implementation trial. The instrument was validated using a 1-4 Likert scale. The novelty of this research lies in combining an authentic digital platform with a domain-specific digital platform (Ekosastra.com) and teaching journalistic and ecological literacy. This has not been previously studied in Indonesian higher education. The results showed that the six-unit teaching materials received very valid ratings from the content experts (M=3.62) and media experts (M=3.54), and very good ratings from the students (M=3.48), all far above the minimum feasibility threshold. The teaching materials are a replicable model for integrating ecological literacy, journalism practice, and digital competence into the Indonesian Literature curricula, with broad implications for society 5.0-oriented higher education reform.
