Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of corporate performance theory, Resource-Based View (RBV), Resource Dependency Theory (RDT), Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT), and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) in enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. MSMEs face various challenges, including limited innovation, restricted access to financing, low digital competencies, dependence on external resources, and insufficient adaptive capabilities. This research employs a systematic literature review method, collecting, classifying, and analyzing recent relevant literature, including journals, research reports, and academic publications, to develop an integrative conceptual framework. The findings indicate that optimizing internal resources through RBV, managing external dependencies through RDT, developing adaptive capabilities through DCT, and enhancing individual self-efficacy and social learning through SCT collectively contribute to improving MSME performance and competitiveness. The study recommends strategies such as strengthening internal capacities, fostering external collaborations, adopting technology, and implementing integrated policy support. These findings provide both theoretical and practical foundations for policymakers and MSME actors to achieve sustainable competitive advantages and guide future empirical research focused on MSME development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the global business landscape and requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia to strengthen their competitiveness through resource-based strategies and adaptive innovation. This article aims to integrate five key theories in strategic management to explain the performance of digital MSMEs, namely: (1) Firm Performance Theory, which assesses organizational success multidimensionally through the Balanced Scorecard; (2) Resource-Based View (RBV), which emphasizes the importance of valuable, rare, difficult to imitate, and organized resources; (3) Resource Dependence Theory (RDT), which highlights the management of external dependencies on suppliers, customers, and institutions; (4) Dynamic Capabilities (DC), which explains the process of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring resources to adapt to environmental changes; and (5) Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), which emphasizes the role of self-efficacy and collective efficacy as drivers of entrepreneurs’ innovative behavior. The literature review shows that RBV provides an internal foundation, RDT connects organizations with external resources, DC serves as a bridge for strategic adaptation, SCT provides behavioral microfoundation, and performance theory provides a measure of organizational success. This article identifies research gaps in multi-level and longitudinal integration and proposes a research agenda based on a mediation-moderation model to strengthen the performance and sustainability of digital MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

The hyper-dynamic business environment in technology companies requires companies to not only have a competitive advantage, but also the ability to consistently sustain that advantage. This literature review article aims to formulate a new conceptual framework that explains how Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) transforms internal resources into superior performance. This model is based on the Resource-Based View (RBV), which identifies Digital Human Capital (DHC) as the primary VRIN (Valuable, Rare, Inimitable, Non-substitutable) resource. This integration is expanded with Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT), where SHRM is hypothesized as the main mechanism for sensing, seizing, and transforming HCD to align with market demands. At the micro level, Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) provides a behavioral foundation that explains employee self-efficacy and collective learning as drivers of these dynamic capabilities. Through extensive literature analysis, it was found that the relationship between resource ownership (RBV) and performance is facilitated by dynamic processes (DCT) that are fundamentally driven by SHRM. This article also highlights the relevance of Resource Dependency Theory (RDT) in the context of talent acquisition, complementing the internal perspective. The main contribution is the proposal of a comprehensive model that bridges the macro strategic view with the micro behavioral foundation in the context of digital HR.

Abstract

This research proposes the Integrated Strategic-Behavioural Framework (ISBF) to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian Language Skill Training Centers (LSTCs) that prepare Migrant Workers (PMI). Current LSTCs suffer from a performance gap, failing to meet high international skill demands, unlike competitors like Vietnam. The framework argues that sustained competitiveness is achieved not by possessing resources alone, but by dynamically aligning internal resources with external demands (DC bridging RBV and RDT) while ensuring optimal individual performance (SCT) under an ethical mandate (CPT). The study recommends LSTCs prioritize intangible asset investment and institutionalize dynamic adaptation routines to elevate Indonesia's position in the global skilled labour market.

Abstract

Economic growth is the main focus of the country's development, especially measured through Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the Indonesian context, the blue economy concept is a promising strategy because of the abundant potential of marine resources. This study aims to analyze the influence of the blue economy on economic growth in Indonesia. Through a literature review, it is revealed that the government has implemented various innovative policies and financial instruments to support the blue economy. The research results show that the blue economy has a significant influence on economic growth. However, the challenge of maximizing the benefits of marine resources while maintaining environmental sustainability remains the main focus. By maintaining the sustainability of marine resources, Indonesia can build a strong and sustainable blue economy, providing long-term economic and social benefits for its people.

Abstract

This article explores the evolution of management theories from an academic perspective by comparing the major theoretical schools from classical to contemporary thought. It aims to uncover the strengths, limitations, and research gaps within the management literature, while evaluating how these theories cope with globalization, digitalization, and economic change. The analysis is supported by historical trend data and visualizations. The findings suggest that while classical and behavioral theories retain partial applicability, contingency and dynamic capability theories offer more relevant frameworks for today's organizational challenges. Keywords: management theory; globalization; digitalization; leadership; dynamic capabilities
