Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di madrasah melalui pendekatan literature review. Madrasah sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter religius peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep, tantangan, dan strategi pengembangan PAI di madrasah berdasarkan kajian pustaka dari berbagai sumber ilmiah. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan menganalisis artikel jurnal, buku, dan publikasi ilmiah yang relevan dari tahun 2015-2024. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa PAI di madrasah menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti kualitas guru, metode pembelajaran yang masih konvensional, keterbatasan fasilitas, dan adaptasi terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Strategi pengembangan yang dapat dilakukan meliputi peningkatan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, inovasi metode pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dan student-centered learning, pengembangan kurikulum yang integratif, dan penguatan manajemen madrasah. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kualitas PAI di madrasah memerlukan pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan semua stakeholder pendidikan dengan fokus pada pengembangan profesionalisme guru, modernisasi pembelajaran, dan penguatan nilai-nilai karakter Islami.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence in education has transformed how students engage with academic tasks, particularly in research writing. Among various AI applications, ChatGPT has emerged as a widely used language model that assists students in generating, organizing, and refining research writing process. This study investigates students’ perceptions and behavioral intentions toward using ChatGPT in academic research writing, employing the Technology Acceptance Model as the analytical framework. A quantitative survey design was implemented involving 205 undergraduate students from the English Education Study Program at Tanjungpura University, representing the batch of 2020 to 2022. Data were collected through a 20 item online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics including means and standard deviations. The findings show consistently high perceptions across all constructs of the model, with Perceived Usefulness (M = 3.80, SD = 1.05), Perceived Ease of Use (M = 3.78, SD = 1.00), Attitude Toward Usage (M = 3.79, SD = 1.02), and Behavioral Intention (M = 3.96, SD = 0.97), all categorized as high. These results indicate that students find ChatGPT beneficial, easy to use, and supportive in enhancing writing quality and productivity. The results also suggest a strong intention to continue using AI tools for academic writing, reinforcing the relevance of the Technology Acceptance Model in the higher education context. This study concludes by emphasizing the importance of promoting ethical AI literacy and critical engagement to ensure that ChatGPT complements, rather than replaces, students’ intellectual and creative efforts.

Abstract

In English language learning, writing is a skill that allows students to express their ideas, opinions, and thoughts effectively. However, students at SMPN 03 Entikong demonstrated low writing proficiency. This research aimed to investigate how the implementation of the Storyboard in teaching solves students’ writing problems. Storyboard is a teaching tool that displays a sequence of pictures accompanied by the appropriate words and sentences to describe events in the story. This research was conducted through classroom action research, which was carried out in two cycles with 36 students in Grade VIII-B as participants. Data were collected using writing test, observation checklist, and field notes. The quantitative findings showed an improvement in the average of the writing test score from 63.44 to 72.22. The qualitative results indicated that the implementation of Storyboard in the writing instruction and practice helped students to express ideas clearly, choose appropriate vocabulary, and use correct grammar in their writing, especially for the narrative text. Thus, it can be concluded that Storyboard improved students’ writing skills.

Abstract

Utilizing digital technology in English lessons, especially involving junior high school students in the process of customizing avatars from the Zepeto app, can make students more interactive and engaging, capture students' attention, and maintain engagement. This research investigated the effectiveness of using Zepeto's avatar in enhancing seventh-grade students' descriptive text writing. A quasi-experimental study was employed with a quantitative approach. Participants were 61 students from two different classes in the seventh grade, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data was collected using a written test instrument and analyzed using t-tests and effect size data analysis. Customizing an avatar from Zepeto inspires them to write and provides them with ideas for where to start. It has been proven by the data computed, which was 5.9 as compared to 1.697 for the t-table with 30 degrees of freedom. The t-test (5,9>1,697) was shown to be greater than the t-table. The effect size formula of this experimental group was 1,02, which showed that the treatment of this study was considered a strong effect, while the control group had a moderate effect size of 0.53. The results suggest that Zepeto's avatar can be an alternative teaching media for descriptive text writing, particularly for seventh-grade students in SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak.

Abstract

Investigating the causal factors, effects, and strategies to overcome writing anxiety is the aim of this research. A fifth semester student of English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Universitas Tanjungpura with high learning motivation was chosen as the participant of this research. A case study design was employed in this research by using semi-structured interview and document analysis as the method of data collection. The result of the data analysis indicated that the student experienced cognitive writing anxiety where she felt difficult in deciding a writing topic, choosing relevant vocabulary, and using appropriate grammar. Writing anxiety was caused by a high frequency of assignment, feeling lack of linguistics skill and vocabulary, and fear of being criticized by others. Based on the findings, it was revealed that the writing anxiety experienced by the participant brought a facilitative effect toward her writing performance which led her to take some efforts by managing several strategies to overcome the writing anxiety. It was reported that vocabulary checking, creating constructive surroundings to have writing practice, diary writing, and doing writing challenge were strategies she had used to overcome her writing anxiety.
