Abstract

The application of the philosophy of progressive education within the Merdeka Curriculum aims to create a more student-centered education system that encourages active and contextual learning. Progressivism emphasizes the importance of hands-on experiences and the development of critical thinking skills through real projects and discussions. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, this approach allows students to explore their interests and talents more independently, with teachers acting as facilitators guiding the learning process. Through project-based learning, collaboration, and authentic assessment, the Merdeka Curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore their interests and talents. This research identifies various strategies that educators can adopt to integrate the principles of progressivism, such as using active learning methods and allowing freedom in choosing learning materials. The implementation of the progressive philosophy presents several challenges, including teachers' readiness to adopt new roles, the need to adjust the curriculum to local contexts, and the availability of adequate resources. However, this application also offers significant opportunities to enhance the quality of education by producing graduates who are more adaptive, creative, and capable of solving complex problems. This study highlights how the application of progressive philosophy in the Merdeka Curriculum can increase student motivation, develop 21st-century skills, and prepare them for future challenges. Therefore, it is essential to continuously evaluate and develop this approach to align with the evolving times and national educational needs.

Abstract

Education has a very important role in Islamic philosophy as the main means of broadcasting, maintaining and internalizing knowledge that includes intellectual and spiritual aspects. Islamic educational philosophy views education not only as a process of transferring knowledge, but also as a medium or tool in the formation of morals and increasing individual spirituality. This article aims to research and observe the concept of education in Islamic philosophy through literature studies and analysis of classical texts by Muslim thinkers, such as Al-Ghazali and Al-Farabi, which highlight the importance of balance between intellectual intelligence and spiritual wisdom. Education in the Islamic view plays a very important role in developing individual morals and forming an ethical society, as well as in the application of Islamic values ​​worldwide. The results of the study show that education according to Islamic philosophy does not only focus on worldly aspects, but also on the formation of a complete human being, both intellectually and spiritually. With integrated education, it is hoped that individuals will be born who have superior personalities who are able to contribute positively to society. Thus, education in Islamic philosophy functions as a very important means or instrument for conveying and preserving the noble values ​​that have been passed down by Muslim intellectuals from generation to generation, as well as being a path towards the formation of a harmonious, ethical and civilized society.

Abstract

This research examines Al-Ghazali's thoughts in shaping the character of student independence through an educational approach. As one of the important figures in the world of Islamic education, besides concentrating on academics, Al-Ghazali proposed an educational approach that emphasizes the development of strong character. Finding out how Al-Ghazali's education helps students become independent is the driving force for this research as well as its application to the current educational context. The research method is a literature review by analyzing Al-Ghazali's relevant works, such as Ihya Ulumuddin and Mizan al-'Amal. The findings show that there are four main components of education as proposed by Al-Ghazali: moral development, inculcation of religious values, learning life skills, and individual independence. These findings are relevant to the challenges of modern education, especially in the effort to form independent and moral students. Educators can look to the results of this study as a resource in designing a curriculum that facilitates students' self-reliance in a holistic manner.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relevance of Al-Farabi's thought in the context of modern education, with an emphasis on the integration of moral and spiritual values in the curriculum. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis with a library research approach. The results show that Al-Farabi's educational thought is still very relevant in creating individuals who are noble and active in society, especially amid the negative impact of globalization. It is emphasized that education should focus on character development, spirituality, and ethical understanding, in line with the goals of Islamic education. This research recommends that educators incorporate moral and spiritual values in the contemporary curriculum to produce intellectual and moral individuals, and face the challenges of an increasingly complex age.

Abstract

The role of education in shaping character has been a subject of discourse throughout history, with its significance amplified in the face of contemporary challenges. This study examines the relevance of Ibn Khaldun's educational philosophy in the context of modern character formation. The reseaarch aims to analyze Ibn Khaldun's perspective on education and its potential application in contemporary character-building efforts. A qualitative approach is employed, focusing on a comprehensive review of secondary sources and scholarly interpretations of Ibn Khaldun's educational theories. The study synthesizes various perspectives on Ibn Khaldun's educational philosophy and examines their applicability to current educational practices and challenges. This approach allows for a broader understanding of Ibn Khaldun's ideas within the context of modern educational needs. The study reveals that Ibn Khaldun's educational theory emphasizes the integration of religious, moral, and practical knowledge in character development. His holistic approach to education, which includes the cultivation of critical thinking, social skills, and ethical values, aligns closely with current educational needs. The findings suggest that Ibn Khaldun's educational principles can significantly contribute to addressing modern character-building challenges, particularly in fostering resilience, cultural understanding, and ethical decision-making among students. This research provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers in developing comprehensive character education programs that balance traditional wisdom with contemporary demands. Moreover, it highlights the importance of revisiting historical educational philosophies to inform and enrich modern a pedagogical practices, especially in the realm of character education.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic education in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a library research approach. Islamic education, with its emphasis on moral, spiritual, and social values, aligns closely with the principles of sustainable development. The study reveals that Islamic teachings on justice, equality, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship are in harmony with the goals outlined in the SDGs. Islamic educational institutions contribute to poverty alleviation, environmental awareness, and gender equality through curriculum content and practical programs rooted in Islamic values. However, challenges such as limited curriculum integration and lack of teacher capacity remain obstacles. Therefore, it is essential to enhance the curriculum, empower educators, and build partnerships between Islamic educational institutions and broader development stakeholders to ensure Islamic education becomes a significant agent in achieving the global goals.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap sektor pendidikan, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Studi ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi berbagai inovasi dalam pembelajaran PAI yang memanfaatkan media digital serta menyusun model pembelajaran yang relevan dan efektif di era digital. Penggunaan media digital tidak hanya memperdalam pemahaman peserta didik terhadap ajaran Islam, tetapi juga mendorong partisipasi aktif mereka dan memungkinkan integrasi nilai-nilai spiritual dalam konteks kehidupan modern. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memperkuat fondasi teoritis dan praktis untuk mendorong transformasi pembelajaran PAI menuju sistem pendidikan yang lebih responsif dan transformatif. AbstractAdvancements in information and communication technology have had a major impact on the education sector, including the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to explore various innovations in PAI learning that utilize digital media and to develop a relevant and effective instructional model for the digital era. The use of digital media not only deepens students' understanding of Islamic teachings but also encourages their active participation and allows for the integration of spiritual values within the context of modern life. The findings of this study contribute to strengthening both theoretical and practical foundations to support the transformation of PAI learning toward a more responsive and transformative educational system.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi pembelajaran inklusif dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, serta mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan dan solusi yang relevan dalam implementasinya. Pendidikan inklusif merupakan pendekatan yang memberikan kesempatan yang sama kepada seluruh peserta didik, termasuk mereka yang memiliki kebutuhan khusus, untuk memperoleh layanan pendidikan yang berkualitas tanpa diskriminasi. Dalam perspektif Islam, prinsip inklusivitas sejalan dengan nilai-nilai keadilan, kasih sayang, dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman. Namun, penerapan strategi ini di lembaga pendidikan Islam masih menghadapi sejumlah kendala, antara lain keterbatasan pemahaman guru, kurangnya pelatihan, minimnya fasilitas pendukung, serta resistensi budaya dan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan sebagai metode utama untuk menganalisis literatur terkait. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang efektif mencakup pelatihan guru secara berkelanjutan, pengembangan kurikulum yang adaptif, penyediaan lingkungan belajar yang ramah disabilitas, serta penguatan sinergi antara sekolah, orang tua, dan masyarakat. Dengan strategi yang tepat, pendidikan Islam inklusif dapat diwujudkan sebagai bentuk nyata implementasi nilai-nilai Islam yang humanis dan universal. AbstractThis study aims to examine inclusive learning strategies in the context of Islamic education, and to identify various challenges and relevant solutions in its implementation. Inclusive education is an approach that provides equal opportunities for all students, including those with special needs, to obtain quality education services without discrimination. From an Islamic perspective, the principle of inclusivity is in line with the values of justice, compassion, and respect for diversity. However, the implementation of this strategy in Islamic educational institutions still faces a number of obstacles, including limited teacher understanding, lack of training, minimal supporting facilities, and cultural and social resistance. This study uses a qualitative approach with literature studies as the main method to analyze related literature. The results of the study indicate that effective strategies include ongoing teacher training, adaptive curriculum development, provision of disability-friendly learning environments, and strengthening synergy between schools, parents, and the community. With the right strategy, inclusive Islamic education can be realized as a real form of implementing humanistic and universal Islamic values.

Abstract

Islam menegaskan pentingnya pendidikan bagi semua individu tanpa diskriminasi gender, sebagaimana tercantum dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan peran pendidikan islam dalam mewujudkan kesetaraan gender. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dokumentasi pada artikel ilmiah, buku dan proseding, teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi/penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan memiliki hak yang sama dalam menuntut ilmu, namun masih terdapat hambatan dalam implementasinya, seperti bias interpretasi agama dan faktor sosial-ekonomi. Pendidikan Islam berperan penting dalam mewujudkan kesetaraan gender dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai inklusif dalam kurikulum dan metode pengajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan revisi kebijakan dan penghapusan bias gender agar pendidikan Islam dapat menjadi alat untuk membangun masyarakat yang lebih adil dan inklusif

Abstract

Perubahan zaman yang ditandai dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi, globalisasi, dan pergeseran nilai-nilai sosial telah menciptakan tantangan kompleks bagi profesionalisme guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tugas dan tantangan guru PAI di era modern serta merumuskan strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi pustaka. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber literatur seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, artikel, dan dokumen lainnya, lalu dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tantangan utama yang dihadapi guru PAI mencakup krisis moral dan sosial, pengaruh budaya asing, serta perkembangan teknologi dan globalisasi. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, strategi yang relevan meliputi penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, pengembangan konten digital (video, animasi, podcast, aplikasi), pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya dukungan kebijakan pendidikan dan fasilitas dari pemerintah serta lembaga pendidikan untuk menciptakan guru PAI yang profesional, adaptif, dan mampu membentuk generasi Muslim yang berakhlak mulia serta siap menghadapi dinamika zaman
