Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophy of Islamic education as the main foundation in the formation of character education to build a superior generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, and has noble morals. This study focuses on the weak implementation of the values ​​of Islamic educational philosophy in the character formation of the younger generation amidst moral degradation and the challenges of globalization. The study used a library research method by reviewing various literature sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant academic articles. The results show that the philosophy of Islamic education, which is based on the values ​​of monotheism, noble morals, knowledge, and wisdom, plays a significant role in shaping the perfect human being through a balance of spiritual, moral, intellectual, and social aspects. Its implementation is proven effective when integrated into the curriculum, learning methods, teacher role models, and the habituation of Islamic values ​​in the educational environment.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah masih terjadinya ketimpangan peran gender dalam pendidikan agama Islam yang berakar pada pemahaman yang sempit terhadap teks-teks keagamaan dan kurangnya pendekatan filosofis dalam perumusan nilai-nilai pendidikan. Ruang lingkup penelitian ini mencakup analisis konseptual terhadap filsafat pendidikan Islam sebagai kerangka dasar untuk memperkuat kesetaraan dan keadilan gender dalam konteks pendidikan agama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji hakikat filsafat pendidikan Islam sebagai landasan normatif dan epistemologis yang mampu melahirkan paradigma pendidikan yang adil, inklusif, serta berorientasi pada kemanusiaan universal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif, melalui analisis terhadap literatur klasik dan kontemporer yang relevan, baik dari sumber keislaman maupun teori pendidikan modern. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa filsafat pendidikan Islam menempatkan nilai-nilai tauhid, keadilan, dan kesetaraan sebagai dasar dalam membangun kesadaran gender dalam pendidikan. Dengan menginternalisasi prinsip-prinsip tersebut, pendidikan agama Islam dapat menjadi sarana pembebasan dari bias patriarki dan sekaligus meneguhkan peran laki-laki dan perempuan secara proporsional dalam proses pendidikan dan pembangunan moral masyarakat.

Abstract

The increasing social and cultural diversity of contemporary societies has positioned schools as strategic spaces for nurturing inclusive attitudes and managing the challenges of pluralism. Many schools still face obstacles such as limited teacher readiness, inadequate curriculum representation of diversity, and school cultures that are not fully supportive of inclusive practices. This study aims to analyze school strategies in fostering students’ inclusive dispositions in response to pluralistic challenges. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, using purposive sampling to select relevant scientific literature. Data were analyzed using an interactive model that involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that participatory learning strategies, the application of Universal Design for Learning, and project-based learning are effective in strengthening students’ inclusive attitudes, empathy, and tolerance. The role of teachers as role models, the development of inclusive school culture, and active community involvement were identified as key supporting factors for successful inclusive education. The implications of this study highlight the importance of synergy between teacher professional development, curriculum adaptation, and school policy reinforcement to establish equitable, inclusive, and sustainable educational practices in pluralistic contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji ruang lingkup dan objek filsafat pendidikan Islam dalam pengembangan pemikiran pendidikan di era modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan menelaah sumber-sumber klasik dan kontemporer yang berkaitan dengan filsafat dan pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa filsafat pendidikan Islam memberikan landasan yang komprehensif dalam perumusan konsep pendidikan modern melalui integrasi antara wahyu Ilahi dan penalaran rasional. Ruang lingkup filsafat pendidikan Islam mencakup aspek ontologis, epistemologis, dan aksiologis yang berpengaruh terhadap perumusan tujuan, metode, dan nilai-nilai pendidikan. Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa objek kajian filsafat pendidikan Islam terletak pada upaya harmonisasi dimensi spiritual dan intelektual dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga tercipta paradigma pendidikan yang holistik. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan pendidikan modern tidak seharusnya dipisahkan dari prinsip-prinsip filosofis dan spiritual agar tercapai keseimbangan antara pengetahuan, moralitas, dan keimanan.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and globalization has significantly influenced the mindset, character, and religiosity of Generation Z. Growing up in a highly digital environment, this generation faces challenges such as moral value shifts, decreasing religious awareness, and the strong influence of popular culture. These conditions require a more contextual and relevant model of Islamic education. This study aims to analyze Fazlur Rahman’s ideas on Islamic educational reform, especially his double movement approach, and to explore their relevance for Islamic education in the digital era. Employing library research supported by content analysis and a historical-philosophical approach, this study finds that Rahman emphasizes contextual Qur’anic interpretation, integration of rationality and morality, the unity of religious and general sciences, and the transformative role of Islamic education. The study concludes that Fazlur Rahman’s educational thought offers a relevant framework for developing Islamic education that fosters critical thinking, ethical awareness, and social responsibility among Generation Z.

Abstract

Gender issues in Islamic education have become an important topic in contemporary educational discourse, especially in efforts to achieve equitable access to learning for men and women. Normatively, Islamic teachings emphasize the principles of justice and equality in obtaining education. However, in practice, there are still various challenges that affect the implementation of gender equality in Islamic education environments, such as social stereotypes, the influence of patriarchal culture, and limited understanding of gender-responsive education. This article aims to analyze gender issues in Islamic education and identify various challenges and strategies in realizing equitable access to learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. Data were collected through documentary studies of various scientific literature sources in the form of books, journal articles, and relevant research results published in recent years. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to critically examine various concepts, ideas, and research findings related to gender equality in Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that gender inequality in Islamic education is more influenced by social and cultural constructs than by Islamic teachings themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen gender-responsive curricula, improve educator competencies, and support inclusive education policies. These findings contribute conceptually to the development of a more equitable and inclusive Islamic education, and emphasize the importance of integrating a gender perspective into the education system to achieve equitable access to learning. Abstrak Isu gender dalam pendidikan Islam menjadi salah satu topik penting dalam diskursus pendidikan kontemporer, terutama dalam upaya mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar bagi laki-laki dan perempuan. Secara normatif, ajaran Islam menegaskan prinsip keadilan dan kesetaraan dalam memperoleh pendidikan. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih terdapat berbagai tantangan yang memengaruhi implementasi kesetaraan gender di lingkungan pendidikan Islam, seperti stereotip sosial, pengaruh budaya patriarki, serta terbatasnya pemahaman tentang pendidikan yang responsif gender. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis isu gender dalam pendidikan Islam serta mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan dan strategi dalam mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap berbagai sumber literatur ilmiah berupa buku, artikel jurnal, dan hasil penelitian relevan yang diterbitkan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi untuk menelaah secara kritis berbagai konsep, gagasan, dan temuan penelitian yang berkaitan dengan kesetaraan gender dalam pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketimpangan gender dalam pendidikan Islam lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi sosial dan budaya daripada ajaran Islam itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan kurikulum responsif gender, peningkatan kompetensi pendidik, serta dukungan kebijakan pendidikan yang inklusif. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual bagi pengembangan pendidikan Islam yang lebih adil dan inklusif, serta menegaskan pentingnya integrasi perspektif gender dalam sistem pendidikan untuk mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic education values in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. The background of this research is rooted in the increasing global demand for education systems that not only emphasize cognitive competence but also foster moral integrity, social responsibility, and environmental awareness. Islamic education, with its foundational values such as tawhid (divine consciousness), adl (justice), amanah (responsibility), and mizan (balance), offers a holistic framework that aligns with the principles of sustainable development. The objective of this research is to analyze how Islamic educational values can be conceptually and operationally integrated into educational practices to contribute to the SDGs agenda. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research as the primary method, collecting and analyzing relevant academic literature published in recent years. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values through contextual learning, reflective discussions, character-building activities, and social engagement initiatives can enhance students’ awareness of global issues, empathy, inclusivity, and ecological responsibility. Although challenges remain in curriculum standardization and character assessment mechanisms, the study concludes that Islamic education has strong potential to function as a transformative educational model. The implications of this research suggest the need for curriculum development, teacher capacity building, and institutional commitment to ensure that Islamic education meaningfully contributes to sustainable global development.
