Abstract

Anaphylactic shock is a medical emergency resulting from a severe systemic allergic reaction and can be fatal if not treated quickly and appropriately. In communities with a high history of allergies, family members' limited knowledge and skills in providing initial treatment are risk factors for increased fatalities in anaphylaxis cases. This community service activity aims to increase families' capacity to detect early signs of anaphylactic shock and provide first aid quickly and accurately before medical assistance arrives. The implementation method used an educational and practical approach, including interactive lectures, simulations of the use of epinephrine autoinjectors, and the distribution of written educational modules. Evaluation of training outcomes was conducted through pre- and post-tests, as well as direct observation during the simulation. Results showed significant improvements in family knowledge, skills, and preparedness in handling anaphylaxis incidents. The conclusion of this activity is that family-based training can improve community preparedness in reducing the risk of death from anaphylactic shock. It is recommended that similar training be implemented on an ongoing basis in high-risk areas.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of gadget use on social behavior and learning effectiveness of students at SMK Arrasyadiyah, Serang City. Along with the development of digital technology, the use of gadgets among students is increasingly widespread, including its use as a learning tool, entertainment, and social communication. This study aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on social behavior and learning effectiveness of students through a qualitative approach. Data collection methods include observation and in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and schools. The results of the study show a dual impact of gadget use. Positively, gadgets increase students' access to information and expand their social networks. However, negatively, excessive gadget use can reduce direct social interaction, decrease interpersonal communication skills, and disrupt focus and concentration in learning. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of managing gadget use wisely. The role of teachers and parents is crucial in guiding students to use gadgets for academic purposes without sacrificing their social interactions. Therefore, this study recommends the development of school policies that regulate the use of gadgets in learning. This policy is expected to maximize the benefits of technology while minimizing the negative impacts on students' social and academic development. Thus, students can utilize technology optimally to support their learning process without ignoring the importance of healthy social interactions.

Methods included educational seminars, health screening using Easy Touch GCU (blood pressure, random blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid), and waist circumference measurement. Results indicated a high prevalence of hypertension (43%), prediabetes (26%), borderline cholesterol levels (28%), high uric acid (17%), and abdominal obesity risk (70%). In conclusion, culturally-tailored educational interventions combined with routine health screenings effectively improved elderly awareness and self-detection skills for hypertension and DM, with potential applicability to similar community settings.ABSTRAKPrevalensi hipertensi dan diabetes melitus (DM) pada lansia terus meningkat, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan dengan akses terbatas terhadap layanan kesehatan. This research method is Observational research with a Cross Sectional Study design looking at the relationship between endemic and non-endemic factors causing the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in two sub-districts of Baranti District. The population and sample in this study are houses and heads of families who are located or domiciled in endemic and non-endemic sub-district areas. Data collection was carried out by interviewing residents' activities using questionnaires. Observations were carried out to obtain data on larval density, number of containers, waste management using observation sheets. How to check for larvae in water. The container was shaken after a few minutes. The presence of larvae was checked using a flashlight and Calculation of larval density for House index, Container Index and Breteau index. The results of the research showed that in endemic areas the percentage of larvae found in containers in houses was 42 houses (68.9%), and no larvae were found in 205 houses (46.9%), in non-endemic areas the number of larvae found in containers in houses was 19 houses (31, 1 %) and containers were not found in 232 houses (53.1 %). Abstract

One of the efforts we must make to eradicate corruption is to increase the anti-corruption movement. Efforts to eradicate corruption cannot rely solely on enforcement efforts that fall under the authority of law enforcement institutions. Efforts to prevent corruption by participating in building an anti-corruption culture in society are an important factor in efforts to eradicate corruption. As an element of society, students are expected to act as agents of change and driving forces for the anti-corruption movement in society. To be able to play an active role, students need to be equipped with sufficient knowledge about the ins and outs of corruption and its eradication. Anti-corruption education is intended so that students can clearly understand the problems of corruption that are occurring and efforts to prevent them. This article explains anti-corruption education and also to find out how anti-corruption education is taught on campus. Efforts to equip students can be achieved in various ways, including: outreach activities, campaigns, seminars or lectures. Abstract

Mental health disorders among adolescents in West Java have become a growing concern, impacting their well-being and future prospects. This study aimed to investigate the genetic factors contributing to these disorders, utilizing genomic analysis and qualitative exploration of lived experiences. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including quantitative surveys, genomic analysis, and qualitative interviews. The study comprised a diverse sample of adolescents from various socio-economic backgrounds and age groups in West Java. The quantitative analysis revealed a significant prevalence of mental health disorders, with approximately 35% reporting symptoms of depression and 55% meeting criteria for generalized anxiety disorder. Genomic analysis identified specific genetic markers associated with these disorders, emphasizing their genetic underpinnings. Qualitative data underscored the impact of stigma, coping mechanisms, family support, and cultural factors on adolescents' mental well-being. The findings of this study provide a comprehensive understanding of mental health in adolescents in West Java, integrating genetic and socio-cultural perspectives. The prevalence rates highlight the urgency of addressing mental health issues in this population. Genetic insights suggest opportunities for personalized interventions, while qualitative findings emphasize the importance of reducing stigma and enhancing community-based support. These findings contribute to the development of targeted interventions and policies aimed at improving the mental health of adolescents in West Java.

Abstract

This study explores the complex interplay of respiratory health, air quality, and demographic traits in the Tangerang locality. Moderate pollution levels were found through continuous monitoring of air quality measures, such as particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and ozone (O3). A 12% rise in hospital admissions for respiratory illnesses and a prevalence of symptoms were found in respiratory health assessments, which included surveys and health records. Analyses of correlation and regression highlighted the importance of O3, PM2.5, and NO2 in affecting respiratory health outcomes. The insights pertaining to demographics revealed differences in vulnerability among various age groups, genders, and occupational categories. The results inform suggestions for focused interventions, continuous surveillance, public education initiatives, and subcategory evaluations to tackle the complex issues brought about by air pollution in Tangerang.
