Abstract

The third trimester of pregnancy is a critical period marked by various physiological changes, such as uterine enlargement, increased urinary frequency, back pain, and sleep disturbances. One of the most common sleep disturbances is insomnia, which is influenced by anxiety, changes in body posture, and psychological stress leading up to childbirth. According to WHO data, the global prevalence of insomnia among pregnant women reaches 41.8%, and in Indonesia, 75% of pregnant women experience a decline in sleep quality. This study aims to determine the effect of prenatal exercise on sleep quality among third-trimester pregnant women at the Ida Laina Maternity Clinic in Bengkulu City. It is a pre-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test, single-group design, using a questionnaire and an observation sheet as measurement tools. Based on the results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, it was found that 18 (100%) pregnant women experienced sleep disturbances before participating in prenatal exercise, and 13 (72.2%) pregnant women experienced improved sleep quality after participating in prenatal exercise (negative ranks), 5 pregnant women showed no change (ties), and no pregnant women experienced a decrease in sleep quality (positive ranks = 0). A p-value of 0.000 indicates that there is a statistically significant difference in sleep quality before and after prenatal exercise. Thus, it can be concluded that prenatal exercise has a significant effect on improving sleep quality in pregnant women in the third trimester. The results of this study can be used as a basis for designing more effective educational or counseling programs on the benefits of prenatal exercise.

Abstract

Caring for low birth weight (LBW) infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) often causes anxiety in families due to limited interaction, the infant's vulnerable condition, and the intensive care environment. One approach that can be used to address family anxiety is the implementation of Family Centered Care (FCC) through the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) method. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing Family Centered Care: Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) on family anxiety in infant patients treated in the NICU of RSIA Dwi Sari Lubuklinggau in 2025. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre-and post-tests. The population was 708, with 246 LBW cases and a sample size of 15. The research data were secondary data. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test (a nonparametric test). The results showed that the average family anxiety level before KMC implementation was 20.20 and decreased to 8.47 after KMC implementation. The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p ≤ 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the implementation of Family Center Care Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) on reducing family anxiety in infant patients in the NICU of RSIA Dwi Sari Lubuklinggau in 2025. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of Family Center Care through the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) method is effective in reducing family anxiety in infant patients treated in the NICU. Therefore, KMC is recommended as a nursing intervention to improve the quality of neonatal nursing care and support family psychological well-being.

Abstract

The Data from WHO in 2019 estimated that 296 million people live with chronic hepatitis B infection, with 1.5 million new infections occurring each year, leading to approximately 820,000 deaths. The transmission of this virus primarily occurs through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids, placing health workers at high risk of contracting Hepatitis B. Hepatitis B vaccination coverage among health workers remains low, below 60%. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the transmission of hepatitis B infection among health workers in Lebong Regency. The method used in this study is quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach, and its statistical analysis employs Chi-Square and logistic regression analysis. Among all observed variables that showed a statistical relationship (P<0.05) are immunization status, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP), and behavior (p <0.05). The results of the bivariate analysis using the Chi-square statistical test (continuity correction) yielded asymptotic significance (p) values of 0.001, 0.002, 0.013, and 0.046. The second analysis results indicated that the variables of immunization status (p value=0.002), use of PPE (p value=0.006), implementation of SOP (p value=0.059), and behavior (p value=0.017) were significant, with immunization status having the smallest p value (Sig) of 0.002. From the analysis, an Odds Ratio (OR) of 5.606 was obtained, indicating that immunization status has a 5.606 times greater chance of hepatitis B occurrence among health workers. Based on the results of this study, program holders should evaluate the planning and implementation of vaccination programs, ensuring that health workers in healthcare facilities receive Hepatitis B immunization.

Abstract

Backgound: Health education is the provision of health knowledge and habituation of healthy behaviour of students. The adequacy of health education provision will affect the attitudes and behaviour of school children which will determine their health status whether they will remain healthy or at risk of health problems in the present and adulthood. Purpose: To analyze the availability of health education materials to improve children's healthy behaviours in the school environment. Method: This descriptive qualitative research analyses by examining and revealing the meaning or reality of Health Education conducted in Primary Schools. This research was conducted in five primary schools in the Bengkulu city area, with data analysis techniques including data reduction steps, presenting data, drawing conclusions for verification. Data validity checks with source triangulation through activities to test the credibility of data triangulation techniques for data credibility by checking data to the same source with different techniques. Interview results are checked with documentation or observation. Results: The results of the research on the school health center program have not been able to run optimally as seen from the policies and guidelines that do not yet exist and are well socialised to all school members. The school health center supervisor teacher, teacher of physical education sports and health and guardian teacher have not fully implemented the Trias school health center and understood the indicators in school health center activities. The school health center is still the responsibility of the community health centre. Students have never received health education intensively. Health education in schools has a significant influence on students' health behaviour. Conclusion: Through purposeful health education, students can increase their knowledge about health. Health education also plays an important role in changing behaviour, resulting in the adoption of healthy behaviours in students. Students who receive effective health education tend to adopt healthy behaviours.

Abstract

Background: Health literacy is one of the most important factors in improving the quality of life of the community. However, in developing countries such as Indonesia, most people have low levels of health literacy, especially in rural areas. This causes inadequate public health management, so the level of community literacy must be considered when designing health promotion programs. Purpose: To investigate the role of health literacy in enhancing health promotion efforts. Method: A systematic literature review study in the context of cervical cancer prevention promotion using techniques based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). This study used the PICOS framework (Population = General, Intervention = Health promotion, Comparison = Using a comparison group and not using a comparison group, Outcome = Health Literacy, and Study Design = Various research approaches, experimental studies, mixed methods, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), longitudinal multicentric prospective intervention studies, included in the study design). Results: Health literacy plays an important role in health promotion in various countries according to the literature analyzed. The health literacy rate in China increased from 6.48% to 23.1%. The majority of university students in Portugal have limited literacy levels. According to studies conducted in South Korea and Ethiopia, there is a relationship between health information orientation and health behavior. Children and pregnant women in Lithuania and Thailand experienced significant improvements in their health competencies as a result of parental health literacy and participation in special programs. These findings highlight the importance of health literacy improvement strategies implemented at the local level. Conclusion: Health promotion programs tailored to an individual’s health literacy level have been shown to be more effective in increasing community understanding and encouraging behavior changes that support long-term well-being. Suggestion: Additional research is needed to determine the most effective strategies or approaches that can be used to address health literacy gaps across communities, especially in areas with low health literacy.
