Abstract

The study concerns the investigation of class management in the process ofIndonesian as a Foreign Language (IAFL) learning in Darmasiswa program.It is conducted in order to explore class management of IAFL program, fromplanning, organizing, implementing, to evaluating process. It is also to describeobstacles and solutions taken in the process of class management. The studywas carried out in the Language Center of Indonesia University of Education,involving two IAFL teachers, two IAFL students, one IAFL coordinatorand one staff of university International Office. By employing three types ofinstruments, including observation, interview and document study, this studyfound that in general, Darmasiswa program in the Language Center of UPIis well managed. It can be seen from several aspects; (1) Well-organized planinvolving all management aspects, (2) A clear organization between the tasksdone by International Office, Coordinator (management and teaching program,and Teacher in the center (class management and class teaching learning); and(3) Teacher’s skills in managing class, viewed from the way opening the class,embracing the students coming from different culture and with different paces inone level, using varying methods and techniques, evaluating, making use of and optimizing the existing facilities, as well as overcoming obstacles using good efforts have been proven to result in a good class management.

Abstract

Manajemen pembelajaran pendidikan karakter untuk meningkatkan disiplinpeserta didik dengan menggunakan Penelitian kualitatif deskrisptif yangbertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis perencanaan, pelaksanaan,penilaian. Karena banyak fenomena-fenomena perilaku dari para peserta didikyang menyimpang dari karakter manusia yang berakhlak mulia. Data penelitiandiperoleh melalui wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan observasi terhadap pesertadidik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran inovasipendidikan karakter dengan menerapkan fungsi-fungsi manajemen sepertimerumuskan dan merancang perencanaan inovasi pendidikan karakter yangdituangkan dalam visi, misi, tujuan sekolah serta program-program pendidikannilai-nilai karakter yang terintegrasi pada seluruh kegiatan sekolah.

Abstract

The problems faced in the school management system which is functionally not running optimally, where the supporting factors for activities, especially financing, are the lack of transparency. Moreover, the administration of job is not given based on proportional and professional principles; it is more inclined to the principle of closeness and seniority. In addition, team work is also less solid and less intelligent in responding to various school problems, especially in learning outcomes. Network has not described the relationship between effective and productive work procedures. In particular, the difficulties encountered include: (a) Media and learning facilities that are not on target, (b) Education funding has not been in accordance with the needs, (c) The competence of educators is not evenly distributed, (d) Teacher welfare needs to be improved, (e) The different psychological development of students, (f) The monitoring system has not been maximized. In addition, the teacher's ability to understand the characteristics of students is weak, the use of learning methods is not appropriate, the vision and mission and goals are not fully understood by the teachers, the mentality and awareness of teachers are weak to improve their competence, the results of the guidance of the principal and supervisors are rarely followed up, low community participation. The school management system is still central and closed. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the management of Participatory Learning Management in Improving the Ability of Students in English Subjects at SMAN 89 and SMAN 102 DKI Jakarta Province. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach; this method is used to solve the problem under study where this research is intended to explore data and information related to Participatory Learning Management in Improving Students' English Subject Skills at SMAN DKI Jakarta. At the planning stage of learning English in improving English for high school students in Jakarta, it has been stated in the syllabus. The stage of organizing that has been carried out is good, but improvements are still needed in its implementation. In the implementation stage of participatory learning in improving entrepreneurial behavior in high school in Jakarta, English teachers have carried out the learning process with steps of normative learning activities according to the syllabus and lesson plans including very good qualifications. The evaluation activity stage is carried out in the assessment of participatory learning in improving students' English at high school in Jakarta, in the assessment stage the English Skills Education teacher conducts two types of assessments, namely process assessment and student learning outcomes assessment. Learning English at the planning stage still lacks good learning strategies and supportive learning media. To increase student participation in English, it is necessary to have a comprehensive approach to students, interesting learning media.

Abstract

Character education in Islam has existed since Prophet Muhammad’s period. “Pesantren” or Islamic boarding school is a place of character building in obedience to “Kaffah” Islamic teachings. The character education in schools here means, a process of building good character or Akhlakul Karimah by presenting education model of pesantren but realized in formal institutions. It is deemed as solution for children who do hesitate to have boarding school education because of several reasons. This study aims to describe the implementation of character education management in senior high schools around boarding schools environment located in Banyumas, Central Java. The approach used in this research is a qualitative with descriptive method. The character education in Banyumas has implemented four modern management functions in a proportional way by upholding the tutor role of Pesantren.. The cooperation has been running simultaneously and run conventionally, while still adhering the management principles even need a various ongoing renewal efforts.

Abstract

Conflict management in increasing organizational productivity includes planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, constraining and resolving conflicts. The general purpose of this research is to identify, examine and describe conflict management in increasing organizational productivity. The results showed: a) Planning, includes identifying the causes of conflict, including differences in thinking, different views, differences in understanding, leadership styles, character of leaders and managerial abilities of leaders in managing the organization; b) Organizing, includes the types of conflicts within the organization, including internal conflicts, conflicts between individuals and conflicts between groups; c) Implementation, through preventing, avoiding, handling, resolving and creating conflicts; d) Supervision of conflict management through the establishment of rules, policies, and evaluations; e) Constraints, consist of internal factors, including human resources that have not been maximized, parties who are allergic to change, rules that have not been steady, leadership ambitions, conflicts of interest, the campus is not compact with foundations and external factors include social, political changes and economy so as to cause disruption of organizational activities; f) Solutions, through raising awareness, reducing conflict, negotiating and reaching agreement. In conclusion, a well-managed conflict can generate ideas, motivation and inspiration in increasing organizational productivity.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools educate students to study religious knowledge, to be skilled and independent when they return from boarding schools to be role models. The general purpose of this research is to find out the empowerment of students in an effort to improve the economy in Islamic boarding schools. This study uses a qualitative approach, descriptive method with observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results showed that the planning of the empowerment of students started from the vision and mission, programs, objectives, stages and strategies of empowerment. Organizing, that each head of the business unit has the responsibility to control, guide, direct and report to the leadership of the pesantren. Santri, alumni and the community are involved in the organizational structure, this placement is adjusted to the abilities and skills possessed. Implementation, refers to a needs analysis, namely what is needed by students, congregations and the community, starting from the leadership example, training, dividing groups according to interests, mentoring, guidance which is a follow-up to the training. Evaluation is carried out according to the situation and conditions but routine activities are carried out weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually. Supporting factors include exemplary leadership, public trust, the location of the limited professional human resources, some are less updated with the times, family innate factors with different backgrounds, the existence of Islamic boarding schools The results of the empowerment of students in both economic boarding schools are increasing and developing.

Abstract

The kiai's activities give rise to diverse views among the people. Several factors are behind the differences in views, including the leadership factor. One of the reasons for this gap between the kiai is the lack of awareness of the kiai in administrative matters in the organization, so that a new breakthrough is needed for the kiai, namely by making efforts to empower the people. This research is a qualitative research, a research that aims to reveal an event, phenomenon, activity, and perception of others in a certain social context. Socio-anthropological approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the kiai's leadership is based on social aspects including the legal-formal leadership model, namely the form of policy must be in accordance with organizational mechanisms including administrative order. Religiously, the leadership of KH. Nurdin Alhusainy as a charismatic leader, encourages other kiai to master various types of disciplines so that they can be implemented in the current context. Second, in the aspect of empowering the people, socially advocating for the people regarding civilized social concepts and actions to criticize the rulers who are not in favor of the people. In addition, in the field of religion, encourage other kiai who are affiliated with religious organizations to open themselves in dealing with religious issues on social media scientifically, not in unwise and hateful ways.

Abstract

The current decline in the moral quality of the nation is characterized by widespread practices of Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN), conflicts (between ethnic, religious, political, youth), increased crime, decreased work ethic, and so on. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, supporting factors, inhibiting factors and solutions. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation studies. The findings of this study: (1) the planning for improving the quality of character education in realizing the noble character of students has been structured quite well and systematically, but there are obstacles, namely human resources, (2) the organization has been running even though it has not been supported by adequate job analysis, (3) its implementation has been going well but has not paid attention to the resources owned, (4) the supervision has been carried out and according to the program but has not had a significant impact on improving the quality of character education, (5) supporting factors, the commitment of leaders, professional human resources, adequate facilities and infrastructure, derivative policies and partnerships but have not fully improved the quality of character education significantly, (6) inhibiting factors, weak management, commitment to human resources, inadequate infrastructure, policies, and partnerships, (7) solutions, with rotation of leaders and effectiveness of management, training and human resource development , support adequate facilities and infrastructure, strengthen derivative policies, and a partnership

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of pedagogic competence development in general has not been able to improve its quality because it does not yet have a superior quality culture. This study aims to determine the implementation of the management of teacher pedagogical competence development in an effort to improve their performance. The theories in this research are: management theory, coaching (empowerment), competence, performance and six value systems. This study uses a descriptive exploratory method with a qualitative approach to the type of case study that focuses on one particular object as a case and makes general conclusions based on scientific facts. The results of the research in general have obtained an overview of the implementation of management of pedagogic competence development in an effort to improve its performance. Specifically, it is concluded that: (1) Planning for teacher competency development to improve teacher pedagogic competence has a 5-year program formulation and an annual coaching program. (2) The organization of teacher competency development to improve teacher pedagogic competence is prepared by the School Team, consisting of school principals, vice principals and heads of the Computer Network Engineering program. (3) Implementation of teacher competency development to improve teacher pedagogic competence is sometimes not in accordance with the programmed schedule/time and established procedures, as well as operational cost constraints. (4) Supervision of teacher competency development to improve teacher pedagogic competence has been carried out by the Head by recommending suggestions to teachers to make follow-up plans, (5) Factors that support teacher competency development to improve teacher pedagogic competence are good activity planning according to the program and objectives; high enthusiasm and passion for the profession. As for the obstacles in the implementation of the development of pedagogical competence include: a) Lack of competent teachers; b) productive teachers of Network Computer Engineering have not fully utilized the data obtained from the coaching; and c) productive teachers of Network Computer Engineering have not carried out their duties according to their duties and responsibilities. (6) Efforts made to overcome obstacles and obstacles in the implementation of teacher pedagogical competence development to improve the performance of productive teachers in Networking Computer Engineering are: a) maintaining communication always connected and monitoring more intensely, b) Principal recommending the results of coaching to the Foundation , c) sharing good practices of knowledge and experience with other productive teachers; and d) Utilizing information technology in the form of applications and social media to facilitate the implementation of coaching. The research product of the hypothetical model is depicted in a schematic diagram and its explanation.

Abstract

The era of globalization characterized by free competition and excellence, and supported by modern information technology, turned out to provide problems for the world of education in the development of the character of the nation. Among the problems is the optimal involvement of envirormental input consisting of families, communities and stakeholders, to the process of implementing strengthening character education strategies based on humanist education principles. Based on some of these problems, the study focused on: "Character Education Strengthening Strategy based on school culture for high school students." In general, this study aims to describe: Environmentalobservation, formulation of school culture-based strengthening character education strategy for high school students, implementation of strengthening character education strategy, evaluation of strengthening character educationstrategy, obstacles to implementation of strengthening character education strategy, solutions from obstacles to the implementation of strengthening character education strategies, and impact of implementation of strengthening character education strategies. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, sourced from principals, deputy principals, teachers, and students. The data collection tools used are observations, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of this study generally show that these two Institutions have established the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of strategies of the school's culture-based strengthening character education for high school students well in accordance with the principles of strategic management. Specifically: 1) Environmental analysis conducted by the Principal at the two Educational Institutions runs in accordance with strategic management theory and can be used as a first step before formulating and choosing a school culture-based strengthening character education strategy for high school students. 2) The formulation of strengthening character education strategy implemented at these two Educational Institutions is in accordance with the principles of strategic management and government policy. 3) Implementation and implementation of school culture-based strengthening character education Strategy for students at two institutions can be implemented properly in accordance with the principles of strategic management, although in his research researchers found some obstacles, but all of them can be sought solutions. 4) Evaluation related to the School's culture-based strengthening character education strategy for students has been arranged and running well. This can be seen with the articles and rules that have been set by the school related to what students do, their development and activities while in school and outside school. 5) In general, obstacles in implementing the strengthening of school culture-based character education in the two institutions include the limitations of integrated policy tools in realizing character values; shifting ethical values in the life of the nation and state; affected by information technology. 6) Everyone involved in the Education process must know very well the function of national education and teachers must have a commitment in participating in realizing every function of national education. 7) The formation of students of strong character and religious character, an effective, conducive and efficient learning environment, an integrated curriculum between co-curricular, intra-curricular and extra-curricular, and the creation of a good school culture.
