Abstract

Merdeka Belajar is currently a primary goal in the learning process, driven by students' needs. Not only character, but students must also possess soft skills to face the challenges of the 21st century. Self-efficacy is important for students to have confidence and determination in performing tasks, making the learning process effective and positively impacting their learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the impact of the MERDEKA path-based Project-based Learning (PjBL) model on self-efficacy in mathematics. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 22 students from the fourth grade as a saturated sample. The research instruments include a self-efficacy questionnaire and a test. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis and Paired Sample t-Test. Prior to hypothesis testing, prerequisite tests including normality and homogeneity tests were performed. The results indicate that the implementation of the MERDEKA path-based PjBL model can improve students' self-efficacy compared to before the treatment. This is evident from the increase in the average score of students, from 62.09 before the treatment to 79.31 after the implementation of the MERDEKA path-based PjBL model. The t-test results show tcount ≥ ttable (17.422 > 2.05954), indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the MERDEKA path-based PjBL model has a positive impact on students' self-efficacy in fourth-grade primary school mathematics.

Abstract

The importance of learning mathematics is inversely proportional to the fact that using conventional learning methods causes low problem-solving abilities and the spirit of cooperation among students. Another problem encountered was that students still needed help solving problems related to flat figures, and only a few students had a spirit of cooperation during group work. This research aims to identify and analyze the impact of implementing the TaRL approach in improving students' problem-solving skills, the spirit of cooperation, and social interaction in mathematics learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was conducted on 27 fourth-grade elementary school students. Data collection techniques in this research used research instruments in the form of interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. This data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman (1994) method. The research results show a significant increase in mathematics learning. Applying the TaRL approach has resulted in a significant increase in first and second-cycle scores, especially at the intermediate knowledge level, which increased from 68.57% to 72.33%, and at the high level, which increased from 73.00% to 76.00%. In addition, there was a significant increase in the students' spirit of cooperation, with the "very good" category increasing from 7.41% to 22.22%. It shows that the TaRL approach positively impacts learning outcomes and a collaborative spirit in the classroom. The TaRL approach effectively strengthened students' problem-solving skills and cooperation spirit.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces the challenge of improving student learning outcomes through appropriate learning models and effective content delivery. This study aims to analyze the influence of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and auditory learning styles on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental (non-design) method. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests to assess learning outcomes and questionnaires to identify students' auditory learning preferences. The sample consisted of 28 fifth-grade students. The findings revealed a significant impact of the PBL model on students with auditory learning styles in enhancing critical thinking skills. Hypothesis testing showed a probability value of 0.000 > α = 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the learning model and student outcomes. The integration of PBL tailored to students' learning styles can effectively improve their conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. The study concludes that implementing a problem-based learning model combined with an auditory learning style positively influences students' learning outcomes in civic education, particularly in developing critical thinking abilities in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze: 1) the implementation of a contextual approach to mathematics learning in perimeter of plane figures material to increase the motivation and numeracy skills of third-grade students at Cawan Jatinom Klaten Elementary School, 2) the increase in students' learning motivation after implementing the contextual approach, and 3) the improvement in students' numeracy skills following its application. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects consisted of 12 third-grade students, and data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the contextual learning approach, implemented through the use of measuring tapes and real objects inside and outside the classroom, successfully increased students' engagement and understanding of perimeter concepts. Students became more active and motivated; the classroom atmosphere became more conducive to learning, and instruction shifted from a teacher-centred to a student-centred approach. After two cycles of intervention, students' numeracy skills improved, as the hands-on use of real objects helped them grasp concepts such as length, width, and circumference more easily. It is recommended that the contextual learning approach be applied in other classes or explored further to enhance mathematics teaching methods in general.

Abstract

The problem underlying this research is the low level of students' creative mathematical thinking skills, which is still challenging in the mathematics learning process. Conventional learning approaches that are less contextual are often unable to stimulate creativity and innovative problem solving. This study aims to improve students' ability to think creatively in elementary school teacher education. The study subjects were second-semester students at a university in Yogyakarta. Data collection used a mathematical, creative thinking test as an instrument. The quasi-experimental method was chosen for quantitative research in this study with an unequal control group design because it was experimental, and the sample determination was not carried out randomly. Instead, it used a deliberate sampling technique on second-semester students of the elementary madrasah teacher education undergraduate program. In the test, the increase and effect of the treatment were observed as measured using the n-gain value. The study results showed that the ability to think creatively in mathematics of students in the experimental class exceeded the average score of the control class. It can be concluded that ethnomathematics-based PjBL-STEM effectively improves students' problem-solving ability in mathematics. The implementation of ethnomathematics-based STEM-PjBL is important to be used as a mathematics learning strategy by integrating local cultural elements to provide a more meaningful learning experience at the student level. The implications of this study can be used as a reference by educational policymakers in compiling a curriculum that encourages strengthening 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the impact of the RADEC education model on the reading comprehension abilities of fourth-grade students. This study adopts a quasi-experimental design involving pre-test and post-test measurements on unequal control groups. The research population consists of all fourth-grade students at SDN Sokowoten Baru and the sample was selected purposive sampling with a total of 50 students, 25 participants from the experimental and control groups. The data collection process involved the use of tests and data analysis using descriptive statistics and assumption tests. The normality test results showed that all groups had a significance value ? 0.05, indicating that the data distribution was normal. Furthermore, Levene's test for homogeneity showed a significance value of 0.876 > 0.05, meaning that the data was homogeneous. Analysis of the post-test results showed a Sig. of 0.000, so Ha is accepted. This indicates that the increase in post-test results in the RADEC group is significantly higher than in the Direct Instruction. Thus, the RADEC learning model contributes positively to students' reading comprehension skills. Theoretically, these findings support the constructivist learning approach and the development of reading strategies based on higher-order thinking skills. Practically, the RADEC model helps teachers create more interactive, structured, and meaningful reading learning experiences at the primary school level.
