Abstract

Man will not be separated from intercession because in human life, even until death, he still needs intercession. People who genuinely have faith in Allah swt. Submit and obey the sharia to Him. Islam sets the standard of morality based on the provisions of Allah and His Messenger. Therefore, what is seen as good by Allah and His Messenger, must be good. Moreover, vice versa, it cannot be Allah swt. He was judging falsehood as good behavior because the falsehood of its essence must be immoral. Thus in every explanation relating to intercession," at be it those who give and get intercession" at, or whether those who are hindered from it are clear that the cause is the scientific dimension related to faith in Allah swt. and sharia according to the provisions of Allah swt. and akhlakul karimah in doing the good of others.

Abstract

Purpose – To address this gap, this study situates the halal industry within the broader transformation of Islamic sustainable banking by examining how maqasid, technological infrastructure, and green economy alignment collectively shape sustainable value creation in the Islamic finance ecosystem. Method – Using a systematic literature review (SLR) following PRISMA protocols, 2020–2024 studies were identified, screened, and synthesized through a structured multi-stage process involving database triangulation (Scopus, WoS, Dimensions), keyword clustering, thematic coding, and cross-validation to derive four core analytical themes: maqasid as a normative foundation, halal industry transformation as a real-sector driver, technology as compliance infrastructure, and green economy alignment toward SDGs integration. Findings – Findings reveal that maqasid provides a coherent ethical framework for integrating sustainability into governance, while the halal industry acts as a catalyst for real-sector expansion that stimulates demand for sustainable Islamic financial products. Technology enhances shariah–sustainability compliance through digital auditability, blockchain-based transparency, and algorithmic risk management. Implication – Theoretically, this study proposes an integrated Islamic Sustainable Banking Model that connects maqasid-based governance, halal value chain development, and green financial instruments. Practically, the findings offer strategic implications for regulators and Islamic financial institutions to harmonize shariah–regulatory frameworks, scale green sukuk and waqf-linked financing, strengthen digital compliance systems, and advance Islamic finance as a driver of national and global sustainability transitions

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of qiwāmah in QS An-Nisā’ [4]:34 through linguistic, Qur’anic semantic and socio-historical approaches. The study employs a qualitative library research method by integrating Fazlur Rahman’s double movement theory, Abdullah Saeed’s contextualist approach and Toshihiko Izutsu’s Qur’anic semantics. The analysis focuses on the linguistic structure of the verse, the semantic field of qiwāmah and the socio-historical context of early Arab society that shaped gender relations in classical tafsir. The findings indicate that qiwāmah does not represent the ontological superiority of men over women, but rather a functional and contextual social responsibility. The phrases bimā faḍḍala and bimā anfaqū demonstrate that qiwāmah is closely related to economic responsibility and family management rather than permanent domination. This study proposes an integrative interpretive model that combines linguistic analysis, Qur’anic semantics and socio-historical approaches in understanding gender-related Qur’anic verses contextually while remaining grounded in the Islamic exegetical tradition.

Abstract

The issue of gender equality in education remains a multidimensional problem encompassing theological, social, and cultural aspects. Although Islam normatively affirms the spiritual and intellectual equality between men and women, empirical realities within many Muslim societies continue to reflect patriarchal biases that restrict women’s access to education. This study aims to analyze the concept of gender equality in education based on the Qur’anic perspective, emphasizing women’s rights to acquire knowledge. Employing a qualitative approach through thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) and the sociology of education framework, the study finds that the Qur’an regards education as a universal human right, not limited by gender. The persistence of inequality stems not from Islamic teachings but from socio-cultural structures and patriarchal interpretations of religious texts. Within this framework, Islamic education should function as a means of liberation, in line with Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy, by fostering critical consciousness against social and gender injustices. The findings imply the need for reformulating Islamic education curricula with a gender-equitable perspective, strengthening teachers’ gender awareness, and developing contextual Qur’anic interpretations. Such reforms are essential to transform Islamic education into an instrument for building a civilized, egalitarian, and socially just society.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the concept of tawakkal in the Qur'an and Hadith and its implications for contemporary sharia business practices. Tawakkal is understood as a combination of maximum effort and submission of results to Allah. Using the library research method, this study analyzes classical interpretations and sharia business literature to develop an integrative theoretical framework. The results show that tawakkal is not only spiritually valuable, but can also strengthen strategy, ethics, and risk management in sharia business. The case studies of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and 212 Mart show how the value of tawakkal can be internalized in organizational culture and operational decision making. This study recommends that the value of tawakkal be made an important part of entrepreneurship training and sharia business governance.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of Ahl al-Kitab through the exegetical framework of M. Ghalib, focusing on the meaning, scope, and jurisprudential implications derived from legal hadiths (hadith ahkam) in his Qur'anic interpretation. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes M. Ghalib's exegetical methodology and situates his views within the broader discourse of classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship. The findings reveal that M. Ghalib's exegesis acknowledges Ahl al-Kitab as adherents of divinely revealed religions while distinguishing between those who maintain peaceful coexistence and those who adopt a hostile stance toward Muslims. On jurisprudential matters, his interpretive framework addresses three principal issues: first, the permissibility of consuming food slaughtered by Ahl al-Kitab, which M. Ghalib allows under specific conditions consistent with the majority scholarly position; second, the marriage of Muslim men with Ahl al-Kitab women, which he permits with certain qualifications, contrasting with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa prohibiting such unions on grounds of maslahah; and third, the issues of greeting (salam) and social guardianship (walayah), which he treats as contextual rather than absolute prohibitions. Overall, M. Ghalib's exegesis reflects a hermeneutical orientation that balances theological integrity with openness toward religious plurality, grounded in the Qur'anic principles of tolerance and social justice. This study contributes to the contemporary discourse on Islamic legal pluralism and offers practical insights for religious scholars, educators, and policymakers engaged in fostering interfaith harmony within the pluralistic context of Indonesia.
