Abstract

X is a manufacturing company engaged in galvalume processing. Hollow Galvalume is a leading product of CV. X. In each production process, there was product failure or defective products. If defective products occurred frequently, it could harm the company. Therefore, the objectives of study were to identify and analyse the causes of product defects and provide recommendations for improvements to minimize defective products. The methods used were Six Sigma and New Seventools. The Six Sigma method has 5 stages, namely Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control. The results of the calculation showed value of Defect per Million Opportunity was 14721 and sigma value of 3.69. Thus, the production of hollow products reached the Indonesian average industrial level, but the company wants to make improvements continuously. The results of improvement stage using New Seventools provided recommendations for improvements, among others, training for workers to understand work procedures better, regular schedule of machine maintenance, material inspection process monitoring, making a list of materials planned to be used, addition of special area and facilities for material warehouse.

Abstract

The competitions among industries will get increasing and grow rapidly along with the advan/cement of technology. The layout of company facilities must be considered well as it holds a vital role in determining the quality of production process. Sofi Garmen Firm has encountered a problem of far distance in material handling among departments that finally triggered disturbance of production activity and huge cost of material handling. Therefore, a design for relayouting production facilities became the research object. It aimed at designing the layout proposal through Systematic Layout Planning and Blocplan methods. To calculate the distance, the researcher employed Rectilinear and Euclidean. The result of both distance calculations in Systematic Layout Planning obtained 29,678.5 meters and 23,375 meters respectively, whereas the cost of material handling gained averagely IDR 1,129,356.5. Meanwhile, the results of distance calculations of Rectilinear and Euclidean in Blocplan earned 30,920 meters and 26,942.5 meters consecutively and the cost of material handling produced averagely IDR 1,237,564.5. Accordingly, the calculation results indicated that the recommendation yielded by Systematic Layout Planning became the most optimum alternative of layout.

Abstract

PT Suryagita Nusaraya is a company engaged in the field of courier services in Surabaya. Since it is a good company that has qualified employees, it continuously makes efforts for the improvement of the welfare and advancement of employees. Judging from the current phenomena, there are number of employees who violate the rules that have been set by the management of PT Suryagita Nusaraya including: not punctual, often being absence, and leaving the company during working hours. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that most affect the job satisfaction of employees of PT Suryagita Nusaraya using multiple linear method. The independent variables used are work (X1), status (X2), boss (X3), colleagues (X4), and promotion (X5), while the dependent variable is employee satisfaction (Y). Here, the method used in this research is multiple linear regression. Based on statistical data analysis, the indicators in this study are valid and are reliable variables. In the classic assumption test, the regression of multicolinierity free model, there is no heteroskedastisitas for the data and it has normal distribution. The sequence of the most influential variables individually are as follows: status (X1) with a regression coefficient of 1.095, boss (X2) with a regression coefficient of 0.644, job (X3) with a regression coefficient of 0.084, and colleagues (X4) with a regression coefficient of 0.019, while the lowest influential variable is sale (X5) with a regression coefficient of - 0.066. Abstract

PT XY, a precast concrete manufacturer, especially for electric poles, faces product quality problems in the form of defects, which harm quality, management, and production costs. This study aims to identify the root causes of defects and provide improvement solutions using the Seven Tools and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methods. FMEA is used to identify potential and risk of failure and to formulate priority improvement actions. The results of the study showed three main types of defects: porous fins (53.53%), skin sticking (39.56%), and mottled (6.92%). The causal factors include methods, materials, humans, and machines/tools. FMEA analysis produces the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) for porous fins (192) caused by imprecise molds (machine/tool ​​factors). The recommended solution is to inspect and repair the moulds periodically. Skin sticking defects have an RPN of 210, caused by poor oil quality (material factors); replacing the oil with an oil-based type is the solution. Mottled defects with an RPN of 144 are caused by the low slump of the casting mixture; the solution is to guide the mixing of raw materials according to standards. This study provides specific recommendations to reduce defects in electric pole products at PT XY, focusing on mould improvement, replacement of oil types, and standardization of raw material mixing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas pada unit produksi kursi kayu di CV. X dengan menggunakan metode Objective Matrix (OMAX) dan Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya permasalahan produktivitas di perusahaan yang ditunjukkan dengan belum terpenuhinya target produksi bulanan sebesar 200 unit kursi akibat adanya kecacatan produk. Metode OMAX digunakan untuk mengukur dan mengevaluasi tingkat produktivitas berdasarkan berbagai rasio dan indikator, sementara FTA digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi akar penyebab rendahnya produktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat rasio produktivitas tertinggi yang dicapai perusahaan adalah 0,356 (rasio 1), 1,145 (rasio 2), 1,188 (rasio 3), 1,214 (rasio 4), 23,750 (rasio 5), dan 26,802 (rasio 6). Indikator performansi tertinggi tercatat pada bulan Februari 2023 dengan nilai 472,760, menunjukkan peningkatan indeks produktivitas sebesar 57,587%. Analisis FTA mengidentifikasi 9 (sembilan) faktor utama yang mempengaruhi rendahnya produktivitas pada rasio jumlah tenaga kerja (rasio 5), meliputi tidak adanya pelatihan yang memadai, kurangnya pengalaman, deskripsi pekerjaan yang tidak jelas, lingkungan kerja yang tidak nyaman. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan beberapa perbaikan, termasuk pelaksanaan pelatihan yang relevan, mentoring, pembuatan deskripsi pekerjaan yang jelas, rekrutmen tenaga kerja sesuai kebutuhan.

Abstract

Abstract Cabinets are a very important product, especially when it comes to clothing storage. Ironing and storing clothes requires a lot of space and tools. These things become a problem for students who live in boarding houses because of the limited availability of places. The purpose of this study is to find out the attributes and technical responses of ironing cabinets based on consumer desires, and assemble iron cabinet products based on the results of QFD and Anthropometric calculations. The results of the study resulted in 3 product attribute priorities from 10 product attributes based on customer demand, namely natural wood motifs with a value of 10.86%, outlet for ironing with a value of 10.85%, and products comfortable to use for users with a value of 10.84%. The attribute that is a priority will be the feature that will be used in product development. Then obtained 6 body dimensions, namely the height of the body standing position 180.12 cm, the height of the eye standing position 146.31 cm, the shoulder height standing position 136.79 cm, the height of the elbow standing position 90.88 cm, the distance of the elbow to the fingertips 36.13 cm, and the distance of the back to the front end of the hands 47.17 cm. Then obtained products from the assembly of ironing cabinets based on QFD and anthropometric calculations. Keywords: cabinet, iron, customer, QFD, anthropometry. Abstrak Lemari merupakan produk yang sangat penting terutama untuk hal penyimpanan baju. Kegiatan menyetrika dan menyimpan baju membutuhkan banyak tempat dan alat. Hal-hal tersebut menjadi masalah bagi mahasiswa yang bertempat tinggal di rumah kos karena ketersediaan tempat yang terbatas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui atribut dan respon teknis lemari setrika berdasarkan keinginan konsumen, dan merakit produk lemari setrika berdasarkan hasil perhitungan QFD dan Antropometri. Hasil dari penelitian menghasilkan 3 prioritas atribut produk dari 10 atribut produk berdasarkan permintaan pelanggan yaitu motif natural kayu dengan nilai 10,86 % , stop kontak untuk menyetrika dengan nilai 10,85 %, dan produk nyaman digunakan bagi pengguna dengan nilai10,84%. Atribut yang menjadi prioritas akan menjadi fitur yang akan digunakan dalam pengembangan produk. Kemudian didapatkan 6 ukuran dimensi tubuh yaitu tinggi tubuh posisi berdiri 180,12 cm, tinggi mata posisi berdiri 146,31 cm, tinggi bahu posisi berdiri 136,79 cm, tinggi siku posisi berdiri 90,88 cm, jarak ujung siku ke ujung jari 36,13 cm, dan jarak punggung hingga ujung tangan kedepan 47,17 cm. Kemudian didapatkan produk hasil perakitan lemari setrika berdasarkan perhitungan QFD dan antropometri. Kata kunci: lemari, setrika, pelanggan, QFD, antropometri.

Abstract

Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang produksi beras. Banyaknya pesaing baru menyebabkan turunnya tingkat penjualan 20% UD. Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga dari tahun sebelumnya, untuk mengembangkan strateginya perlu menggunakan metode SWOT untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal perusahaan dan AHP untuk menilai bobot pendukung keputusan strategi. Dengan harapan setelah menggunakan metode SWOT dan AHP UD. Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga dapat mengembangkan strateginya guna bersaing dengan kompetitornya. Setelah dilakukan identifikasi menggunakan metode SWOT posisi perusahaan berada pada titik koordinat kuadran I yang artinya penyusunan strategi alternatif mengarah pada penerapan strategi pertumbuhan dan mendukung kebijakan pertumbuhan yang agresif dengan memanfaatkan peluang yang ada serta kekuatan internal yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan sehingga memberikan value bagi usahanya. Berdasarkan hasil pembobotan AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process), dapat disimpulkan bahwa alternatif strategi SO 1 (Mempertahankan harga, meningkatkan kualitas dan inovasi varian produk tanpa bahan pengawet untuk meningkatkan loyalitas konsumen dan mendapatkan keuntungan yang menjanjikan) memiliki nilai bobot paling tinggi yang artinya strategi ini perlu diprioritaskan terlebih dahulu untuk mencapai tujuan perusahaan yaitu mengembangkan strategi usaha untuk bersaing dengan kompetitornya.

Abstract

Perusahaan Berkat Jaya Ekspedisi Surabaya merupakan salah satu perusahaan jasa transportasi khususnya pada jasa pengiriman barang. Perusahaan masih memiliki beberapa aktivitas yang mengalami permasalahan seperti, kerusakan barang, kehilangan barang, human error, delay dan permasalahan lainnya. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu, untuk menentukan gap yang terjadi pada kualitas layanan yang harus diperbaiki, menentukan nilai DPMO dan level sigma kualitas pelayanan, dan memberikan usulan perbaikan sistem pelayanan menggunakan metode integrasi Servqual dan Design for Six Sigma. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu melakukan fokus perbaikan pada atribut T2 “Kualitas Armada” dengan nilai gap -1,23 dan nilai DPMO 432.000 serta level sigma 1,67; atribut K2 “Ketepatan Waktu Pengiriman” dengan nilai gap -1,00 dan nilai DPMO 400.000 serta level sigma 1,75; atribut T1 “Fasilitas Pengecekan dan Pengukuran” dengan nilai gap -0,91 dan nilai DPMO 338.000 serta level sigma 1,92; dan atribut T4 “Desain Tata Letak” dengan nilai gap -0,91 dan nilai DPMO 338.000 serta level sigma 1,92. Didapatkan beberapa akar permasalahan yang digunakan untuk menentukan strategi usulan perbaikan layanan yang diverifikasi dengan keinginan pelanggan.
