Abstract

Abstract

Basir Konveksi is a home-based convection business in Buntalan Village, Klaten Regency. The products produced are kindergarten, elementary and middle school uniforms, kindergarten drumbands, sports t-shirts, graduation uniforms, sinoman uniforms, school vests. This convection has problems, namely the accumulation of semi-finished and finished materials in the warehouse due to the unsupervised fabric cutting process. This research aims to find out how to minimize defective products using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method. Observing one of the production flows, namely the production of kindergarten uniforms, obtained variable data consisting of four types, namely shirt length, shirt sleeve length, trouser length and waist circumference. Attribute data in the form of dirty materials or fabric, pieces of fabric that exceed or fall below the standard and attributes that have not been installed (buttons, logos, brands). The most dominant defect data discovery was fabric cuts that were more than or less than the standard, is 35.55%. Then the causes of product defects were analyzed using a fishbone diagram and it was found that the main factors causing product defects were material, machine, human, method, supervision and work environment factors. From this research, several suggestions were obtained for companies to make the right decisions in minimizing defective products and repairing them so as to obtain optimal product quality and always evaluating and improving employee performance so that employees are more disciplined and productive at work.

Abstract

Abstract Cleaner production (CP) is one of the sustainable implementations of a comprehensive preventive environmental strategy involving company processes, products, and services. CP plan implementation still faces obstacles, such as the lack of detailed information, tools, and techniques. This study aimed to determine the variables and to select alternative solutions for cleaner production at a fruit chip industry using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The research was carried out at PT Agrijaya Indotirta in Malang, East Java. The production process at this company generates waste from the consumption of energy, water, materials, and raw materials. Energy and water consumption are disposed directly without preliminary recycling process. Used oil is sold, and the remaining fruit seeds are sold for seeds. Checklists are used for problem identification, while fishbone diagrams and the 5W1H method are used to solve the problem of getting the best solution from the available alternatives. The weighting results of the alternative solutions using the AHP method show that the application of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) (with a weight of 0.287080) on the human resource criteria (with a weight of 0.63699) is a suitable alternative solution for the CP application of fruit chips production at PT Agrijaya Indotirta. Cleaner production can be performed by improving the capacity of human resources as production actors and regulators of proper waste management. Keywords: Analitycal Hierarchy Process, cleaner production, fruit chips, waste handling AbstrakSalah satu implementasi berkelanjutan dari strategi lingkungan preventif komprehensif yang melibatkan proses, produk, dan layanan perusahaan adalah penerapan cleaner production (CP). Abstract

The electron transport layer (ETL) is a crucial part in perovskite solar cells (PSC) as it specifically governs the charge extraction at the perovskite/ETL interface. In this study, methylammonium lead iodide-based PSCs with an n-i-p structure were fabricated and modified by adding colloidal TiO2 into the mesoporous TiO2 film as ETL. The effect of the colloidal TiO2 addition on the PSC performance was investigated for ETL comprising different types of TiO2 particles, i.e. P25 and anatase TiO2. Despite producing lower performance than the PSC made with commercial paste, the power conversion efficiency of the PSCs could be improved with the introduction of colloidal TiO2 solution. An optimum condition was observed depending on the type of TiO2 particle, where the best performing device was achieved with colloidal TiO2 of 0.4 and 0.2 mL for P25 and anatase TiO2, respectively. The amount of colloidal TiO2 in samples with P25 overall had less impact than the samples with anatase TiO2.

Abstract

Waste sorting is the key to reducing waste. The public's perception affects the level of participation in sorting waste from home, and internal and external factors influence this. This study was conducted to determine the factors that influence the public's perception of waste sorting in Manado City through a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey in the form of a questionnaire. From 928 valid questionnaires analyzed by logistic regression using IBM SPSS Statistics Software, internal factors such as knowledge, expectations, and motivation influence public perceptions towards waste sorting. At the same time, the community effects become an external factor that matters. The economic benefits, necessities, and the government's participation in supporting the community in sorting waste turned out to have no effect. This should concern the Manado City Government so that waste sorting can be more effective and efficient in the future. Keywords: Factors, Perception, Waste, Sorting, Manado

Abstract

The Bedadung watershed has undergone multiple changes in land cover, resulting in high erosion, sedimentation, flooding, and population pressure, which has caused an imbalance between the demand for clean water and the availability of raw water. Changes in land function resulted in decreasing infiltration capacity and increasing surface flow. This research aims to create a dynamic model of raw water availability in the Bedadung watershed to supply the domestic and non-domestic sectors in Jember. The availability of raw water is influenced by dynamic inputs such as population, industrial, and tourism growth, as well as the expansion of agricultural land. This model will produce a causal-loop diagram (CLD) between variables and then create a stock-flow diagram (SFD) using secondary data programmed by the Vensim PLE 10.1.1 application within 50 years. The modeling results show that the need for clean water increases over time, while the availability of raw water will decrease over time after 2025. In 2057, the clean water demand (463.29x106 m3y-1) was higher than the availability of groundwater (461.775x106 m3y-1), but it was still smaller than the availability of surface water (56,853,200x109 m3y-1). Water-carrying capacity will increase until 2025, then decrease over time.

Abstract

Introduction: Pediatric facial fractures are recognized as separate entities from those occurring in the adult. They differ significantly in their epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment. An understanding of the cause, severity, and distribution of maxillofacial and skull vault trauma and associated injuries can assist in establishing clinical and research priorities for prevention and effective treatment of these injuries. Because there were no studies of maxillofacial injuries in a large series in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, we retrospectively analyzed the characteristics of facial injury treated at our hospital from January 2009 to December 2013. Method: This research is a descriptive study to calculate and compare pediatric and adult maxillofacial fractures between 2009 until 2013. Total sampling of all medical record of maxillofacial trauma patient who came to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital form January 2009 until December 2013 was recorded. All data including age, gender, distribution of fracture site, etiology of fracture and fracture treatment were noted. Severity of mandibular and midface fracture also recorded along with their specific fracture distribution. Results: We recorded 409 patients with craniomaxilofacial (CMF) injuries for 5 previous years that being treated in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. 17.6%(72) of these patients were pediatrics patient with age younger than 18 years old. From the gender distribution we can see that most of the patient were male (85.3%) with motorcycle as the main cause of trauma (75.6%). We can also see that midface fractures was highly suffered not only in adult patient but also in the pediatrics (58.7%) with orbital, nasal and zygomatic complex fractures as the top three most common fracture site. As for isolated mandible fractures share 22.7% from total fractures, and 18.6% suffered from both midface and mandible fracture. From all of these trauma patients, only 42.3% underwent open reduction and internal fixation surgery, while 28.9% refuse treatment. Conclusion: Maxillofacial trauma is not common in children; however, the incidence is increasing in this country. Although the principles of treatment follow as the adult’s, a few special considerations have to be taken into account in order to improve quality of life of the child in both short and long term. A multidisciplinary approach in the management is therefore highly recommended. Preventive measures and treatment plans in children and adult should be designed while keeping in mind their difference.
