Abstract

This study examines the preferences for effective leadership among prospective civil servants who participated in the 2025 Pre-Service Training (Latsar CPNS) at the Balai Diklat Keagamaan Denpasar. Strengthening leadership competence is essential for building a professional and adaptive state apparatus, particularly among Generation Z employees who are entering government institutions during the era of rapid digital transformation. The purpose of this research is to identify how participants perceive effective leadership across five key indicators: leadership character, leader attitudes, positive leadership behaviors, negative leadership tendencies, and leadership competencies relevant to Society 5.0. This study employs a mixed-method case study design using multiple-choice questions and open-ended responses. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative data were examined using the Miles and Huberman interactive model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing). The findings reveal that participants prefer leaders who are democratic, open, communicative, supportive, and technologically competent. Positive leadership practices are highly valued, while negative leadership behaviors such as intimidation and resistance to innovation are strongly rejected. The study concludes that effective leadership for Generation Z requires a combination of ethical character, participatory attitudes, digital competence, and the ability to empower subordinates. Recommendations emphasize the urgency of leadership development programs aligned with the demands of Society 5.0.

Abstract

The results of the study show that. The first test showed that the average reading ability of students was in the sufficient category, with an average score of 67.75%. The category distribution showed that most students (68.75%) were in the adequate category, while only 12.5% of students were in the very good category. These findings indicate that there are general difficulties among students in understanding the content of the reading, summarizing information, and reexpressing the content of the story in a sequential manner. However, after a more targeted learning intervention, the second test showed a significant improvement with the average score increasing to 78.44%. The number of students in the very good category increased to 37.5%, and those in the good category reached 31.25%. These results show that students have literacy potential that can be developed more optimally with the right support. From the results of the interview, it is known that there are two main factors that affect students' low reading literacy skills, namely internal factors (low reading interest, lack of motivation to learn, and limitations in reading comprehension), as well as external factors (limited supporting facilities and infrastructure, lack of interesting reading materials, and lack of parental involvement). These findings confirm the importance of the role of schools and families in creating an environment that supports the growth of literacy culture.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes at the elementary school level remain a persistent challenge, particularly in IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) learning. This condition is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include students’ limited understanding of learning materials and their low level of active participation during the learning process. External factors are reflected in teacher-centered instructional practices and the lack of integration between learning content and students’ real-life contexts. These conditions result in low learning motivation and suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Grade IV IPAS at MI MT Lengkok Tengak. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 students, comprising 16 male and 9 female students. The learning intervention was carried out by applying the CTL model, which emphasizes connecting learning materials with students’ real-life experiences and surrounding environment. Data were collected through classroom observations, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using simple qualitative data analysis techniques. The findings showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, indicated by an increase in the percentage of learning mastery from 64% in Cycle I to 92% in Cycle II. Therefore, the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Classroom Action Research was proven effective in improving IPAS learning outcomes of Grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

This research addresses the cognitive crisis in primary science education caused by "digital reductionism," which frequently triggers disembodied learning. Excessive reliance on static screen simulations has led to a disconnect between a student’s cognitive processes and physical reality. This study aims to mitigate this gap through a re-materialization strategy, utilizing the frameworks of Material Engagement Theory (MET) and Embodied Cognition. The primary objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of haptic intervention implemented through a Cognitive Interactive Pop-Up Book integrated with an Inquiry Science Approach (ISA). A mixed-methods research design with an Exploratory Sequential approach was employed, involving 60 fifth-grade students. Quantitative data were analyzed using MANCOVA to assess the intervention's impact on dependent variables simultaneously. The results indicate a highly significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group’s post-test HOTS score reached 82.5, significantly outperforming the control group’s 65.0. Similarly, in Fluid Creativity, the experimental group achieved 78.4 compared to the control group’s 58.2 (p < .001). Specifically, the haptic group showed sharp increases in high-level cognitive indicators: Analysis (Gain 38.6) and Evaluation (Gain 36.4), with a substantial Effect Size of 0.42 (Partial Eta Squared). These findings empirically confirm that physical re-materialization serves as a "cognitive prosthetic," bridging the gap between abstract concepts and physical reality through sensorimotor feedback. This study concludes that activating the hands as "thinking senses" is crucial for developing embodied knowledge and adaptive creativity in primary education.

Abstract

Gender inequality remains one of the most pressing challenges on the global development agenda. Although significant progress has been achieved through the MDGs and SDGs, the gap between men and women in economic access, political representation, and personal security remains very wide. This study aims to explore the sociological roots of gender inequality, its impact on the global economy, and how the currents of globalization and digitalization create both new opportunities and threats to gender justice. The method used in this study is a comprehensive analysis through an in-depth literature review of patriarchal structures, intersectionality theory, and the dynamics of gender issues in the 21st century. The analysis covers the mechanisms of perpetuating patriarchy through the institutions of family, education, and religion, as well as its manifestations in the capitalist economy and digital space. The results show that patriarchal hegemony remains a structure that is difficult to dismantle and is transforming into more complex forms in the digital era, such as technology-mediated gender-based violence. The gender wage gap and unpaid care work continue to hinder global economic potential, while women's representation in strategic decision-making remains far from targets. Intersectionality theory emphasizes that the discrimination experienced by women overlaps with issues of race, class, and colonialism, thus requiring non-monolithic solutions. This study concludes that gender transformation is not merely a moral issue but a prerequisite for the progress of civilization, demanding legal reform, inclusive education, and cross-national commitment to deconstruct oppressive hegemonic structures.
