Abstract

Deep learning is an approach that launched by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education with an academic manuscript that can be viewed freely on its page. It has three main principles, that are mindful, meaningful, and joyful that should be implemented simultaneously during the learning process. This article discussess the theories of these three main principles from various figures such as Langer, Ausubel, and Dewey by using the literature study from various articles and books. The discussion of this article is designed to help educators more understand about the core of the approach accompanied by practical examples, enabling them to align the learning process with national policies. The principles in deep learning are aligned with constructivism theory, which made students as active subjects in the learning process. Students are aware of the leraning objectives and fully engaged in learning activities  which the content is connected to real-life experiences, enabling them for constructing the conceptual knowledge. This article focuses solely on constructivism theory despite the existence of other theories that also support educational innovation. Highlights: Three interconnected principles frame a holistic student-centered approach grounded in awareness, cognitive integration, and experiential engagement. The framework positions learners as active knowledge constructors through contextual instruction and structured conceptual organization. Practical classroom strategies include initial assessment, project-based activities, and reflective interaction aligned with national curriculum policy. Abstract

In the 21st century, critical thinking is a crucial skill that must be developed through effective learning practices. Because it requires students to analyze, formulate, and solve contextual problems, the problem-based learning (PBL) model is considered to enhance their critical thinking skills. The effect of PBL implementation on students' critical thinking skills was examined in the study discussed in this article. Related keywords were used to conduct a search of indexed journal databases (SINTA 2 and Scopus) for the period from 2018 to 2025. A total of eight relevant primary articles were found and evaluated. The results indicate that the majority of studies indicate that PBL implementation improves critical thinking skills. The quality of the problems, the teacher's role as a facilitator, and the use of authentic assessments are key factors contributing to the success. Recommendations for practice and further research are provided.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is becoming increasingly prevalent among adolescents, particularly vocational high school (SMK) students in Buleleng Regency. Driven by the rapid expansion of social media and peer pressure, this condition is characterized by excessive anxiety and a compulsive need to remain digitally connected. FoMO significantly impacts mental health, triggering academic stress, sleep disturbances, and diminished self-esteem. This study aims to describe students' subjective experiences of FoMO, analyze its psychological consequences, and explore the effectiveness of mindfulness-based counseling as a recovery strategy. Methods: This qualitative phenomenological study involved SMK students in Buleleng exhibiting FoMO symptoms. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, thematic categorization, and phenomenological interpretation to capture the deepest essence of the participants lived experiences. Findings: The results reveal that students perceive FoMO as a "digital prison" that creates social anxiety and constant pressure to conform to trends. However, during the recovery phase through mindfulness-based counseling, a profound subjective transformation was discovered: students shifted from a feeling of being "alienated within digital crowds" toward self-reclamation. Informants described the recovery experience as a "breath of fresh air," where they were able to release their impulsive attachment to devices. The essence of this recovery is marked by the emergence of presence, where students feel more "whole" and sovereign over their own emotions, no longer tethered to external validation or digital notifications. This study affirms that FoMO is a genuine threat to adolescent mental health. Mindfulness-based counseling proves effective as both a preventive and curative strategy, providing space for students to regain internal control. These findings contribute to strengthening school counseling services (BK) in navigating digital era challenges within the Indonesian context.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang bermuatan nilai budaya Ngaha Aina Ngoho dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) pada siswa sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bima, serta menganalisis kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan kesadaran pelestarian alam. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan fenomenologi-etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta tahapan fenomenologis menurut Moustakas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PBL bermuatan Ngaha Aina Ngoho mampu menumbuhkan sikap kerja keras, tanggung jawab, gotong royong, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman tentang dampak kerusakan lingkungan dan solusi pelestarian alam. Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal masyarakat Bima memperkuat internalisasi karakter ekologis dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Dengan demikian, integrasi PBL dan nilai Ngaha Aina Ngoho terbukti efektif sebagai pendekatan pendidikan lingkungan berbasis budaya lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential impact of the traditional game of Gundu (marbles) on improving students' cooperation values, particularly in the context of mathematics learning, through a literature study approach. The integration of traditional games that are rich in ethnomathematics and social character values ​​is believed to be able to become an alternative approach in education. The results of the analysis show that the Gundu game not only contains mathematical concepts such as geometry and arithmetic operations, but also inherently trains students' social-emotional aspects, including cooperation, honesty, and sportsmanship, which can have a positive impact on group learning in mathematics. In conclusion, there is a positive and significant influence of the traditional game of Gundu (marbles) on students' cooperation values, which can be optimized in the context of mathematics learning.   Keywords: Traditional Gundu Game (Marbels), Mathematics, Cooperation Values

Abstract

The development of religious and moral values in children is an important aspect in Early Childhood Education. Pratama Widyalaya Dharma Kumara, as the only Widyalaya in Mataram City, strives to organize education by emphasizing the cultivation of Hindu values. This study aims to comprehensively analyze how religious and moral values are internalized from an early age and how they contribute to the formation of children's character. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The results of the study show that the cultivation of religious and moral values in Pratama Widyalaya Dharma Kumara is carried out through various activities, namely Tri Sandhya together, prayer before meals, learning activities, and going home, Purnama-Tilem worship together, and prayer at the temple (outing class). The development of religious and moral values in children is evident in behavioral changes, such as the habit of saying "Om Swastyastu", responding to instructions, paying closer attention to the teacher's directions, praying before activities, speaking more politely, and showing concern for the surrounding environment. This research emphasizes the importance of internalizing religious and moral values in Early Childhood Education and the need to strengthen their implementation in other Early Childhood Education institutions. However, because the study was limited to a single location and a small number of subjects, follow-up research with a broader scope is urgently needed to yield more comprehensive results.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika masih sering dipersepsikan sebagai pembelajaran yang abstrak dan kurang bermakna bagi siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu mengaitkan konsep matematika dengan konteks kehidupan nyata dan budaya lokal. Salah satu alternatif yang potensial adalah penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis etnomatematika. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif konsep, karakteristik, bentuk implementasi, serta dampak penerapan Project Based Learning berbasis etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui metode literature review. Sumber data diperoleh dari artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional 10 tahun terakhir ssehingga didapat 15 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengelompokkan temuan penelitian berdasarkan tema kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Project Based Learning berbasis etnomatematika mampu menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan bermakna, meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, keterampilan abad ke-21, serta motivasi dan sikap positif siswa terhadap matematika. Selain itu, integrasi budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran matematika juga berkontribusi pada penguatan kesadaran budaya dan pembentukan karakter siswa. Meskipun demikian, implementasi model ini masih menghadapi tantangan, seperti kesiapan guru dan keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, Project Based Learning berbasis etnomatematika direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif dan relevan, dengan dukungan perencanaan yang matang dan pengembangan kompetensi guru.

Abstract

Tingkat student engagement siswa dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar masih tergolong belum optimal, yang disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran yang cenderung berpusat pada guru serta kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan inovatif. Kondisi ini berdampak pada rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, baik dari aspek perilaku, emosional, maupun kognitif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk menghadirkan media pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media Quizizz tipe game slide terhadap student engagement siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dan desain post-test only control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelompok, yaitu kelas V SD Negeri 2 Ngis sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan media Quizizz tipe game slide dan kelas V SD Negeri 2 Sengkidu sebagai kelompok kontrol yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner student engagement yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dua sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata student engagement pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 87,43, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 65,61, dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0,05. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media Quizizz tipe game slide berpengaruh signifikan terhadap student engagement siswa sekolah dasar serta dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study analyzes the development of educational philosophy, focusing on the role of Christian philosophy of education in shaping a holistic, character-based educational paradigm compared to general educational philosophy. Methodology: The study uses a systematic literature review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Data were collected from Scopus, ERIC, Crossref, and Google Scholar, with publications from 2015 to 2025. The screening process yielded 22 eligible articles, which were analyzed using content analysis. Main Findings: General educational philosophy emphasizes rationality, empirical evidence, and humanism, fostering critical, adaptive learners. Christian philosophy integrates faith and reason, moral formation, and the teacher’s role as a spiritual and moral exemplar. Both share a holistic approach but differ in epistemological and axiological foundations, offering a balanced educational paradigm. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides a unique contribution by integrating Christian philosophy of education with general educational philosophy, promoting a balanced paradigm that nurtures both intellectual competence and spiritual, moral, and ethical development. It advances contemporary educational discourse by addressing the interplay between rationality and spirituality.

Abstract

This study explores the mathematical concepts embedded in the cultural practices of the Bima community and examines their potential integration into elementary school mathematics learning. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of key cultural artefacts, particularly Uma Lengge (traditional stilt house) and Tembe Nggoli (traditional woven cloth). The findings reveal that both artefacts contain rich mathematical elements relevant to the elementary school curriculum, including geometry, measurement, proportional reasoning, numerical patterns, and symmetry. The architectural structure of Uma Lengge demonstrates applications of two- and three-dimensional shapes, balance, and non-standard measurement, while the motif patterns and weaving processes of Tembe Nggoli reflect concepts of repetition, arithmetic sequences, geometric shapes, and reflective symmetry. These cultural structures naturally embody mathematical reasoning developed through community practices. The integration of these artefacts into contextual learning promotes concrete understanding, strengthens students’ spatial reasoning, and enhances cultural literacy. The study also identifies challenges related to limited culturally grounded learning resources, insufficient teacher readiness, and lack of school policy support. Overall, the findings affirm that Bima ethnomathematics provides a meaningful and culturally rooted pedagogical foundation for implementing contextual, humanistic, and locally responsive mathematics education in elementary schools. Future research is encouraged to expand this cultural-based mathematics framework by exploring additional Bima cultural artifacts and testing its effectiveness through classroom-based experimental or quasi-experimental studies.
