Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of study habits and interest on learning outcomes in Civics, focusing on understanding logos of the Garuda bird. The subject was grade 11 students at SMK Tirta Jaya Depok. The research method used a quantitative survey technique, with a sample of 60 grade 11 students. Data collection used a questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, coefficients, multiple correlations, and Peaseson coefficients. Determination and Regression Analysis. Statistical tests used the T-test and F-test. The results of the study were Y = 79.661 - 3.02 X 0.10 X 2 To = -2.378 0.747. From this equation, it shows that every one-unit increase in study habits will decrease the learning outcomes of Civics subjects by 3.02, and vice versa, every one-unit increase in reading interest will increase learning achievements in Civics subjects by 0.10. Then, together, it shows that the study habits variable and the reading interest outcome variable can determine the increase in Civics learning outcomes by 7.8% and are not significant (R2 determination equals 0.330 with an F-test value of 1.170). In addition, the hypothesis testing also shows that there is an influence of study habits on Civics learning outcomes and there is no influence of reading interest on Civics results.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of village governance as a key driver for Environmental Conservation Efforts (ECE), with a focus on resource-dependent regions like Bangka Belitung Province. Data from the 2021 Indonesian Village Potential Census (Podes) identified 34 variables related to governance, village assets, and environmental policies. Using bivariate analysis and logistic regression, the research finds that inter-village cooperation, village financial systems, and governance mechanisms are strongly associated with successful ECE outcomes. Specifically, inter-village cooperation was found to increase the likelihood of engaging in conservation activities (AOR: 3.26; 95% CI: 1.47–7.24). However, challenges such as the limited use of open public spaces and insufficient policy integration were also identified. The study underscores the importance of robust governance frameworks in fostering sustainable environmental practices and mitigating such challenges. Despite the limitations of cross-sectional data, this research provides valuable insights for policymakers, emphasizing the need for integrated governance and community-based initiatives to improve conservation efforts. These findings offer a replicable model for environmental conservation strategies in regions under pressure from resource exploitation.

Abstract

Abstract

The earth's surface is completely divided by watersheds; urban and rural areas are sub-systems of watersheds. Flooding is influenced by climatic aspects, LULC, and morphometric characteristics. The Enrekang urban area is in the highlands. However, when it rains with high intensity, the area experiences flooding that causes social, economic, and environmental losses. This study aims to identify watersheds and reveal the morphometric factors of watersheds in the upstream part of the Enrekang urban area. The data used is NASADEM as a modernization DEM from SRTM, processed by spatial analysis techniques and mathematical calculations on the linear, areal, and relief aspects of the watershed. Data shows that in the Enrekang urban area, there is a confluence of the main stream (seventh-sixth order) from the upstream Saddang sub-watershed (SW-2) with the Mataallo sub-watershed (SW-3). In addition, the Rbm value of <3 indicates that the stream channel has a rapid rise in flood water levels, while the decline is slow. The value of the ruggedness number (Rn) parameter >2 is an extreme classification. High ruggedness number indicates steep slopes, and thus resulting in flash floods and erosion. In terms of area, the area of water catchment in the sub-watershed upstream of urban areas is 5,930.77 sq.km., the area is classified as a large watershed. A large catchment area will produce a large flood discharge. Factors of land use change in the upstream part, triggering an increase in surface runoff. There are three district capitals located upstream of Saddang watershed which causes the conversion of green land into built areas due to the need for housing and public facilities. This data can be a reference for the government, academics, and the community for the purpose of planning flood control programs in upstream of the Enrekang Urban Area.
